although 2.5 of that was on sand. If you are ever at the far end of Cornwall I recommend Lelant beach for a run.

casoid wrote:Out of curiosity, what's a good time to run 10k in? I'm currently averaging 44 minutes as a 5'9" 23-year-old male. Could probably be better, but what am I aiming for?

Sounds like a pretty good time to me. As a 5'9" 43-year-old male my personal best for a 10k is around 44min and I don't think I've managed that this year. Basically, anything under 50min and I count that as a win.

Oh wow. I wish i'd learned of this thread earlier. I've been running since June. Thankfully, I've kept track of my distance

2506.8+(18 x 2.6)+ 3.2= 2556.8

Unfortunately I'm now back in the South East, so no more Cornish beeches, no more mores. Watch my mileage rate drop.

I finished my year in Tunisia... No more running around that 1.250 km circle in Belvedere Park, which was really steepy. Only now I fully realize how running upwards is a lot harder.

Now I'm running in my hometown, the old road I used to run at... i'm going to try and run more distance in the bycicle track along the river, which is not fully paved and I hope no asphalt will help my knees

My iPod now has radio function, which is awesome because then I stop paying attention to my running. I love that feeling when I suddenly look around and I'm like, "Wait, I've run to the end already?"

Ran a little further a little faster today. Am now extremely tired. I'm sure the two aren't related at all.

I use podcasts to do the same thing. It's always so nice when you realize half an hour of your run has gone by and you didn't even notice.

That's better. Back on track for the half-marathon next month. Only problem is that running with a beard in summer humidity gets itchy. So, when I got home the shaver came out and the facial fuzz is now history.

(I'm not sure about the result. :? I may grow it back before the winter)

Good luck on the half marathon, Jumble
and congrats for the marathon Meteor!

ed. by the way I was curious also as what is a good time for a 10k run, and checked;
What is the world record for the 10k road race?
It is 26 minutes, 44 seconds, held by Leonard Patrick Komon from Kenya. He ran this time on 26 September 2010 in the Netherlands.

In a running track is 26:16 ..
