copying what others are doing in a different format? maybe.
fun? definitly.

lets see if the cyclists/casual bike riders can get to 10k before the runners do.

i will start: this mornings commute brings the total to 3.3 miles. a very wet 3.3 miles with the rain we are getting.
will post more miles today as well.

0+3.3= 3.3 miles biked

yesterdays commute home= 3.3 miles
todays commute= another 3.3
going back home and then back to work cuz i forgot something= 6.6 miles

3.3+3.3+6.6+3.3 = 16.5 miles biked.
anyone else wanna join in?

16.5+15=31.5

Velodrome session a few days ago, was pretty good :)
Hopefully this thread won't take too long to complete if we get a bunch more people to join in :P

I didn't take my Garmin with me yesterday, so I'm not 100% sure, but Google Maps says about 30km, so I'm gonna go with that.

34.8 + 18.6 = 53.4

Shit, Android. Was that mountain or road?
Also, 281.6 + 41 = 322.6

322.6 + 23.5 = 346.1

How good is daylight savings and being able to go riding after work :-D

346.1 + 6.6 = 352.7

372.8 + 6.6 = 379.4

Sorted:

379.4 + 27.2 = 406.6

I would have gone further but this giant ball of burning gas appeared in the sky and superheated the air to like 25 degrees C! (Yeah we're just coming out of winter here. It was a bit of a shock to the system)

I'm going to add the daily commute in week long chunks, and add any longer trips separately, otherwise I'll be posting far more than I care to.

481.3 + 15 (last weeks commute) = 496,3

I'm planning to ride to the harbour (20km each way) and buy some smoked mackerel sometime during the week though, should help)

496.5 + 16 = 512.5

Did a ride up East River Drive, into Manayunk, then back down West River Drive back to my house. Totals about 16 miles, it was very enjoyable.

I'll go back retroactively to Sunday and start adding my rides in from now on:)

16.1 miles in an hour.

512.5 + 16.1 = 528.6

597 + 80.77 = 677.77

If only I'd ridden another 30km, I could have made 100 miles...

And, as the guy who kicked off the 'run 10,000 miles' thread, I wish you guys luck. I'd also add that I cycle-commute ~50 miles per week (on a Brompton!) on top of the running. However, I won't be posting because:
A)I don't ride with a cycle computer so I can't claim the accuracy I'm sure you are looking for, and
B) there is such a thing as thread loyalty, you know.

Still, never mind, only 3000 miles before you lot with your Lycra and gears get close to our distance on foot. All the best & have fun! R

gears? pffft.

My commute for the week:

971.55 + 15.6 = 987.15

This week's riding:

987.15 + 26.71 (Mon) + 14.26 (Tues) + 36.07 (Wed) + 25.3 (Thurs) + 32.82 (Fri) + 20 (Sat) = 1122.312

Re: BIKE 10,000 miles

Saturday and sunday rides:

1122.312 + 35.69 (into Belgium, do I get bonus points for that?) + 25.71 = 1183.712

1183.712 + 5 = 1188.712

Oh, get well soon!
I had a competitive feeling between the bike10k and run10k threads, but not good to know it's not adding up miles mainly because your injured (or where are the others!)

if it is an actual bike, i will count it. so therefore, exercise bike= no,

bike attached to a resistance trainer also equals no.

if you are riding miles in a velodrome or the like, yes.

basically just have to travel a useful distance.
