Where were you leaning town on wam in Texas? You wanted him vigged at the end of D1.

plytho wrote:Bessie, I thought you voted NL to taunt Freezeblade, but the fact that you're still voting means you actually prefer no lynch. Please explain why. (after Mark if possible)
Moving my vote at the time of my previous log on wouldn’t have done anything to move the game forward. Leaving my vote on NL forces everyone to address it or ignore it.

plytho wrote:So why aren't you voting?
wam wrote:As I was hesitant as stated earlier but then remembered how close to deadline we are

Votals at the time of wam's freezeblade vote:

wam’s reasoning for not voting is either odd for a player with so many years experience, or is false.

Mark_Cangila, you’re the front runner for the D1 lynch. You need to log on and do something townie, like post some reads or analysis, before Sabrar and plytho disappear for the night (they’re both in Europe). And wam can still log on and hammer you to ensure he lives through the day.

If you are town and you are lynched, you can still help us out, and you should because even dead you can still win with town. You need to post anything you are thinking. Go ahead and make a stream of conscious post with all your thoughts, and don’t worry about organizing or editing. And post an ordered town-scum list. Your thoughts will help us find scum later in the game.

I will not be around at deadline.

Things to look at on D2.

1. Mark’s wagon. Interesting, those who hitched themselves to that wagon, and equally interesting are the reasons given by those that didn’t.
2. freezeblade’s bizarre lurker vote for Mark. Why justify this as a lurker vote when it would have been entirely within freezeblade’s meta to vote for Mark for Mark’s NL vote? Why didn’t freezeblade follow moody? Is there a connection?
3. wam’s freezeblade vote. Compare wam’s end of day content with his D1 end of day content in Secret Santa.
4. Sabrar-wam connection.
5. Look for an excuse to tunnel plytho on D2. Why hasn’t he given me one? Is this deliberate? Is he intentionally not making waves?
6. Why is BoomFrog lurking?

somitomi, if I'm dead, make sure you go through this list. Make Sabrar reply to #3.

I’ll be home for about another hour.

I'm not going to hammer. Mark lynch seems pretty inevitable. I don't expect any last minute swing and if that does happen it's very informative.

Bedtime now.

And as it turns out, I’ll be here at deadline. My husband’s gig was canceled because life in Southern California grinds to a halt when it rains.

Yeah, driving attention away from wam. You don’t think it’s odd that Sabrar isn’t pushing wam for content?

moody, I’ve seen you lurking a few times in the past day and a half since your last post, including just a little while ago. How about a town-scum list before deadline?

Mark, I saw you. You’ve had ample opportunity to defend yourself and/or make a case on someone else. Town!Mark can accept his fate and still leave us his thoughts. If you won’t post, I would usually assume it is to avoid leaving ties to a partner. However, I will go on record as saying that I think you are probably not currently mafia partners with someone else.

It is now evening, and there is no further posts allowed until dawn.
Send in your travel orders if you have not already done so.
Once all orders are in, night will begin.

Fill-in-the blanks reference card for evening action:
Pursue (player/nobody), using (vehicle/public transit).
Visit (player/self)'s safehouse if pursuit fails.
Spend up to (X) more on evasion/tracking.
(Use/don't use) (travel option X)

The sun is low in the sky after a long day of travel and a quick rush to dust off and get used to a new safehouse. Rush hour traffic begins to fill the streets; a great time to fade into the ebb and flow of people and make your way to a target unobserved, but also a great time to be paranoid about who might be following you, and who might be slipping in to your safehouse while you're stuck in traffic.

The local police received a number of complaints from the residents during the day and, in an effort to be seen doing something, a trio of patrol cars swept through the neighbourhood to pick up a significant portion of the adorable street urchin population. The laws of supply and demand mean that the cost to get your windscreen washed with a dirty rag has just gone up.

Screeching tires and blaring horns fill the city streets; a confusing mess of humanity until the press of cars downtown gives way to the suburbs. Here, there is plenty of inconspicuous parking, and plenty of ways to approach a building unobserved through the quiet yards and long shadows.

After a long night, the sun peeks over the horizon to find the city carrying on as if nothing special had happened last night. Uncaring of hangovers and late night parties and adventures, duty calls for the agents get up to make breakfast and consider their next moves. Perhaps a discussion with some of the other shady characters around town can help crack the case?

Dawn on Day 002 has arrived, and everyone should have their night results now.

I didn't get a post in on time into the thread yesterday. I'm not loving Sabrar's attack on FreezeBlade yesterday. Having read over FB's posts I see nothing wrong with them up to that point.

I viewed NL as a good idea because:
A. The game is totally different and rules are different. This is especially true considering the lack of a kill.
B. The lynch seems different in this game. Especially since NL seems to be a default, and hammer doesn't end the day, and you get one post. I wouldn't be surprised if multiple people could be lynched in one day if we have time.

Re-reading the rules this is a possible explanation but in that case it would have been really nice if this had been made much clearer from the beginning. :|

Is that an official mod explanation, or are you just guessing? The "must hammer to lynch rule" was something we saw only once in the large game hosted by someone from another mafia site.

I also have no results from last night.

A player must reach the target number of votes to be arrested. There are hidden mechanics secretly affecting the votals and/or targets, so a hammer point will not be obvious and does not end the day.

If it is possible to lynch multiple people in the game during a single day then I have just broken the game and it would be really stupid. (Hint: Town win condition does not require that a townie must stay alive.)

What happens if multiple players reach the target number of votes on a single day?

Denoting players 1 to 8.

All players vote 8.
1 to 7 vote 7
1 to 6 vote 6
1 to 5 vote 5
1 to 4 vote 4
1 to 3 plus 8 (phonecall, because rules don't forbid it) vote 3
1 to 2 plus 6 plus 7 vote 2
1 plus 3 plus 4 plus 5 vote 1

If anyone from 1 to 4 does not cooperate we have a remaining vote left.

Do you think arrested players are allowed to vote using the phone call? Seems counter-intuitive to me, but this is an unusual game...

That plan is pretty much what I figured it would be. I like that Sabrar is appropriately icked by how simply it was devised. Reasonable order is that we have scummier players at the higher values, not so?

I'm not sure if enough is known about the mechanics of the game to do something as drastic as the lights out strategy (possible hidden mechanics, or powers which will mess with results/votes) this is spy themed, so having roles/powers which work on subterfuge, secrecy, and manipulation is a large possibility by my figuring.

I also would have liked if the "must hammer to lynch" mechanic was noted more strongly in the rules, as the NL wasn't ideal
