I thought the same, but was unsure.

I think that SPsnow02 hoped to fool us into voting no lynch but, seeing we didn't fall for it, amended it hoping to make it look like he made a mistake.

Yes, but then again, since we have no information, lynching an innocent person would just help the mafia. Their goal is to kill six of us off, and it won't be good if we start helping them. After all, we only have a 3/11 chance to get it right.

I just realized something. Since I read on the MafiaScum Wiki that editing posts in mafia games is forbidden I'm making a new post.

SPsnow02 took back his no Lynch vote. If he was a unsure beginner that would be normal. But

Experience: Semi experienced? I've played mafia a few times in person, but only once online.

He already played before. And would argue against me if he thought no lynching was a valid tactic (since I'm new). So he must have thought it was a tactic he couldn't defend, even against a newbie.

Well, at first I thought no lynching sounded like a good idea, because it's more likely that we'll get a townie lynched than a mafia member, but after I thought about it I realized that then we wouldn't have any imformation the next night either or the night after that, because the mafia members wouldn't have people accusing them. This way we'll at least have some suspects.

Also, I wasn't the one who suggested No Lynch, I just picked up on it.

As MartinW said, you'd played before - surely you should know that we won't have any information the next night etc. - surely you've gone over the logic before? I'm sorry, I don't think it hold's up.

I'm going to vote for SPsnow02

To be fair to SPsnow02, I'm pretty sure I was the one who first suggested the no-lynch vote. I'll also point out that I AM a complete newbie. And I figured the info we'd get from who the Mafia kills, combined with the cop getting to investigate one person and the masons getting to talk to each other, would yield SOME sort of info.
Speaking of which, Vox, when do the mafia members and masons know the identities of the others? (Note: I may be one of these and asking this question to throw you off. *wink*)

... that being said, I'm now highly suspcious of SPsnow02 as well, especially considering his experience level. I will therefore agree.

UNVOTE: No lynching.
VOTE: Lynch SPsnow02.

Hmph. I've played a few times before with like 6 people offline, and once online, The ofline ones were all one-person mafia's. Since it looks like I'm dead I'll just through a name out to try to take a mafia member with me. I'll put Avalon XQ, he suggested the No lynch vote and has been suspicious..

Yeah, this is bad logic and obvious trickery. You can't take someone "with" you -- either you die or they die. Additionally, if he were not mafia, he would protest his innocence rather than talking about taking down someone else.
I'm pretty confident in the SPsnow02 vote now.
I'd also point out that, having been the most vocal, I'm the obvious choice for a mafia hit after dark. I'd advise the doctor to choose me.

I'd say doing nothing is bad, since then the mafia strikes again while we sit on our asses doing nothing.
But then, I don't actually know who would be a mafia-member so...

Well, You can attempt too, Because when I die and the mafia is still strong, they'll take you down too. And, Its already 5-2? against me, not much I can say to that as this is all suspicioin and guessing.

Actually, I make it 4-2 - you're still in with a fighting chance!

I think the thing is, SPsnow02, the first lynching is going to be based pretty much on guesswork. Now, we could guess someone random - which gives us a 9/12 chance of getting someone innocent. Or we could guess you. I'd say you've done one or two slightly suspicious things - not very, but slightly. Which makes you a little bit more likely of being a mafia member. Now, even if that's unlikely, it's more likely than just a random guess, so the sensible thing to do, in my opinion is vote for you. If you're not mafia, then I'm sorry - that's just the way it turned out.

Jahoclave, I think whenever there's a majority - so with 12 people, that's 7 people voting in favour. I think we should also set a time limit on it.

The Day is currently over when someone is lynched, but there is the possibility of instituting a time limit.

I don't want to set too short of a time limit; I thought we could just play a "Day" and see if the time it takes to play out naturally isn't too long for you.

If a majority would like a shorter amount of time though, just indicate it in your posts. I don't think the limit should be any less than three real days, though, or there's no time for discussion.

And since I can see who has received my PMs and who hasn't, if I see that it is not read by the end of tomorrow, I'll start asking for replacements.

There's a chance it might lead to accusations of the lurkers as mafia members, so I won't say until I actually need someone replaced.

Personally I think that's FAIR for us to know who's lurking. Since everybody volunteered to join, the ASSUMPTION should be that if you're not speaking, you're lurking.
I don't think it makes sense that lurkers can hide behind the fact that other people aren't paying attention to the game.

I don't really have much to say. I've been out all day.

It would seem to any person that the people who committed the crime would want someone else to get lynched for it....I don't know what to vote yet. There's not enough information for us to know who did it.

So....

I see the logic in that, but I just think there's not enough information yet. No one's really starting conflict or anything, so why not wait another day? I guess
I'd rather vote for the person who seems the most suspicious to me.

Therefore....

We're two votes away from lynching SPsnow02 and ending the first day. I'd recommend a couple of the people who haven't voted step in and be done with it.
Or that they at least vote for SOMETHING (even if it's "no lynching") so we can see where people stand and figure out what options we need to argue about.

2. Macbi
3. Nebuduck- Spsnow02

5. Martin W- Spsnow02
6. Rodan- Spsnow02
7. Col. Mustard
8. Ubersmush
9. AvalonXQ- No lynch, Spsnow02; 1 vote (Spsnow02)
10. Jahoclave- Vox Imperatoris  , AvalonXQ, Spsnow02; 1 vote (Megotriorchis)
11. AKAnotu- No lynch, Spsnow02
12. Megatriorchis- No lynch, Jahoclave
You've strung up Spsnow02.

As dusk rose over xkcd Village, the townsfolk finished constructing a makeshift hanging platform. After relatively little debate between the citizens, many of whom were too frightened by their compatriots' zeal to participate, Jahoclave grabbed Spsnow02 and dragged him to the noose, tying it around his neck. Kellsbells pulled the lever releasing the platform. Death for Spsnow02 was instantaneous; he didn't even have time for last words.

His status as mafia or townie will be revealed Tomorrow (as in Day 2).

Those of you with night roles may now converse and send me your choices by Saturday morning, or if you all send them in early, whenever that happens.

ETA: I though you guys might want to know that the last vote on a lynchee is called a Hammering. :D

Since everyone is done with his night actions, I've gone ahead and started the Day.

It is now Day 2.

The citizens of xkcd Villages' horror at discovering the body of townie Rodan dead like the others in the town square was surpassed only by their discovery upon ransacking Spsnow02's house that he was also nothing but a regular guy. However, the lynch mob soon began to reassemble; the citizens were determined to rid themselves of the mafia's threat.

Rodan, townie was shot and killed.
Spsnow02 was discovered to be a townie.

Aw. Poor Rodan. :(

I want Jahoclave DEAD. His behaviour after the death of our beloved mayor and our magistrate is giving me the heebee jeebees!

Vote: Jahoclave

You can't run for mayor if the mayor's dead! I bet it's one of those shady mafia attempts at taking over the village!

I hope this post doesn't get me killed.
