It probably was the sea. They walking along the coast, and when they stopped for a while, the camera rotated a quarter circle around them so we could see the sea. Camera is now back to its original viewpoint, basically on the shoreline.

YES! More walking! \o/
I'll never talk about a loop again. I promise. The simple idea Time could loop totally freaked me out.

Oh, and they probably stopped by a river¹, then crossed it.

It's still the sea, and the loop presumably started with Newpix 1, it just hasn't yet completed a circuit.

A random needle-pulled question: there's the cool map for user's locations. Is there an easy way to poll our ages? It seems like we have quite a range here. I'm always amused at my assumptions when someone who posts like a patriarch reveals himself to be a student, or when a poster of youthful exuberance cites an ancient cultural reference. We seem to be a very mixed bunch, and also with a high stereotype-defying factor enhancing that mixedness.

Hmm, yeah, now that you mention it. I had kind of assumed the camera wouldn't rotate, since it would be kind of hard to tell if that was happening (unlike the panning)... guess I was wrong.

Was looking at the periods on the wiki, shouldn't the fading be the end of the Enlightenment and the whole new world period be the start of the new era. I vaguely remember people discussing renaming eras and perhaps someone already said something similar to this but, I think the study of history often involves renaming or reinterpreting events in the light of perspective. They don't call World War I the "War to End All Wars" anymore, for example.

428/471. Speculation about the end of the OTC abounds, as does the randomness and off-topic chatter that's been present almost the entire way.

Another wall-of-text:
Spoiler:

I've found both the direct and off-topic conversations here to be spectacularly pleasant and entertaining, and would hate to see this group of participants fade away just because the newpix are. What say we keep this thread going beyond the end either of newpix-time or outside time? 1190 Forever!

While I would dearly love to follow such a plan, I'm already having trouble keeping up with the OTT (as evidenced by the fact that I'm still 45 pages behind). I also have to wonder how others are doing in the struggle to stay current. (Some little piece of me also wonders how many man-hours have been consumed by this point, and what the total cost of those hours would be.) I'd probably be forced to either bow out once the OTC finishes, or pop in for periodic checkins and miss lots of awesomeness.

Current frames traveled. Thought I would update this before I am gone for another 14 Newpix.

Don't worry. Hopefully the Party Pages and the Bagocalpyse will reassure you that the Thread is definitely regressing in maturity level.

Has Randall read it all?

That question must be bordering on heretical ... for anyone else I'd be fetching the melted chocolate and comfy chair, I feel I have to let you off though!

I was just worried he might be stuck somewhere in the Past, around the Time of the Loopists' heyday. I would rather he not be Questing through the Thread, because then he might have not have Time left for Time!

Glad you like it, buffygirl and Latent22! :D You're welcome!

Ah, I see, there is now both an Eras page and a Periods page which disagree with each other. I like yours because it is colorful. Should we merge the two pages or allow them to exist in parallel possibly with links to each other as completing historical taxonomies.

edit: hmm they do seem to kind of point to each other in a way, and they don't seem to be represented as different theories so maybe their conflicts are unintentional

I wake from coma and now have 9 pages to read!
You guys have been busy.
It seems to me that they have not really left the original beach yet. They have just been walking along the beach. This is why the land is so flat and featureless. We saw Cueball stop and stair towards us once but he was just looking out at the 'water'. Someone has probably already mentioned this a few times but I haven't caught up yet!

Edit: As Pope of the page I declare that anyone posting on this page must give BlitzGirl a present!
Edit2: This includes you BlitzGirl!
Edit3: And here is my present:

Yes, right now I'm keeping track of my location in Time. You will be able to tell when I coma or go Outside as my location will not update to match the Newpage.

In fact, now seems like a good Time to pop out for a while. Tell Cuegan not to do anything exciting while I'm gone!

*exhales*

Oooookay! Greetings. I've wanted to make an account since the beginning of (t)(T)ime, but I made myself hold back until I'd finished reading this thread completely and when work got a little less hectic. Which is now! I was keeping up when the Madness dissipated, but then I got hit with a new project at work and then bam, 100+ more pages when I next sat down to read this.

...Time is awesome. And I just sang BlitzGirl's song to myself and it got stuck in my head while I was working out. Also awesome.

Added to the Wiki.
And now I add my final pun since there's finally 1001 frames.1
1001: A Time Odyssey

1according to the Book of Aubron.

EDIT: added a link to the pun list.
Keeper Of The Bags, Protector Of Puns
A Timewaiter from the very beginning to the bitter end.1
1but not from beginning to end to beginning since I'm not a loopist

So if it was a quarter turn, and they are walking along the coast, is the sea from our point of view behind them or in front of them?

Also:
Breaking Bag

xspeedballx's pun inspired me to this
Time. The final frontier. These are the voyages of Cueball and Megan. Its continuing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before.
