Well, maybe. As I said earlier, it is unclear what kind of relationship (if any) these two have, if they live together etc. What I found interesting is that some people root for one or the other, to the point that they want one or the other to die. For me, they still have not gotten to the point of Larger than life, where I care one way or the other.

Poll:
(a) In the OTC, Cueball should die/suffer.
(b) In the OTC, Megan should die/suffer.
(c) both (a) and (b)
(d) neither (a) nor (b), how dare you suggest such a thing?

Discuss.

Cheers,

Ronald

Could be anything... and there is blood in the water now. We might see a molpy frenzy in the next few frames.

Also, why is there no wind? It seems like all the plant motion in this comic has been because of molpies. There hasn't been any sweeping gusts of wind that rustle all the leaves. That seems like either a clue to the mystery of the sea, or perhaps a greater mystery than the sea.

This includes Lucky, the flutterbee and its raptor killer, the pokeymolp, and the chirpy: all creatures who are not what we believed them to be... in bed.

Megan and Cueball are the weremolpies. They have changed from leopardmolpies to stick figures. Lucky is Cueball's (ex?)mate and has come to punish Cueball for his infidelity. After getting hit with a stick, she ran home to eat all the ice cream in the house and watch Twilight over and over again until she is filled with such a white hot rage that she will turn into a screamingcrazybitchmolpy and kill them both with her laser eyes and telekinetic death space rays.

If I had to watch Twilight over and over again I would be filled with white hot rage to. Once was quite enough (you gotta know what you bash). I have a high tolerance for bad movies, but that one was just a mess.
If you want to watch a young woman getting in love with vampires just watch TrueBlood. Those vampires don't sparkle (they start smoking in the sun though) and they actually eviscerate a lot of people. Live vampires should. TrueBlood has actual acting, interesting characters and good story arcs.

Is she actually feeling much better (or at least was, before she landed)?
Did she simply misjudge how much a simple leap might further injure her leg?

In any case, it doesn't look like stick-figure romance is in the future anytime soon. Image

We've seen before that Megan has her pride:

There's such a strong combination of fierce competitiveness and fierce protectiveness (with a bit of "Don't touch!" thrown in) that I lean more and more to the idea that they're brother and sister. (Making the idea of stick-figure romance a bit squicky.)

I do not think it is pride, in this instance. I think it is concern regarding Cueball's concern. He is obviously worried about her, and I think she is genuinely touched. But to have someone worried about you, especially on such an expedition, can be a burden of sorts as well. I think she jumped across as an attempt to alleviate his anxiety. It might not have worked, though. There was no indication that Cueball heard her say "ow" under her breath, but he might have. Perhaps he is not saying anything because he, through his concern for her, does not want to hurt her pride but fussing too much.

ETA: I also think Megan has a tendency to be more playful than Cueball. He has been more the serious one from the start, I think. Perhaps she is also just trying to lighten the mood a bit.

I predict the bushmolpy is Little Prickly's older sibling, Big Prickly. They have a fiercely protective yet competitive relationship, so naturally Big will try to outdo Little's dive roll down the hill.

Popeligatory Dutch word: angstschreeuw.

Predesperationdiction: The structure on the mountaintop is a monastery, long-forgotten by the outside world, inhabited by midget monks, one of whom is currently working his way through the juniper bush, collecting berries. Megball will reveal this hidden monastery to the outside world, and the monks will become world-famous for the quality of their unique Dutch-African jenever, of which they only produce a few thousand liters a year.

But an American liquor company will buy the rights and the recipe, and reduce their high-quality jenever production to a flavored syrup with grain alcohol added. Their sales will increase 50,000 times, but their quality will plummet. The monks, outraged and offended, will banish Megball from their society, and our heroes will finally go on to find out why the sea is rising.

de-coma'd.

1. Seeing them jump that stream made me think of the Bolton Strid, #3 on the Cracked.com list of "spectacular landscapes that will murder you". A 30 ft (9 m) wide river narrows to the width of a big jump. Same volume of water, unknown depth, extremely fast currents, causes fatalities. The banks are actually limestone ledges suspended over deep undercuts and unknown gorges beneath where the rest of the river flows unseen. (Edited: I see the Strid was mentioned, but without detail, back on NP 811... no entropy)
This is the same river that is 30ft wide just a little upstream:

2. Maybe my prediction will be right this time. There was no basket-cobrolpy, but there might be a bush-cobrolpy:

The way they are both reaching back reminds me of old westerns when the sheriff reaches for his six-shooter. Or old cartoons when the character reaches behind his/her back for a mallet.
I would like to request that anyone currently doing whatever and posting a large (or even medium) number/volume of responses in a singe post should
Spoiler:
spoiler them.
Thank you.

Colony of prickly insects thirsty for sticky blood?

Edit: my apologies for ignoring the pope of this page: struikgewasruiser is now added to Dutch (might ring some bells with the 'elderly')

LOL! Most awefulsome prediction today!

The past is full of traps, charms and mirages, but if you just keep up with with what you are doing it will all be fine.
