Sometimes capitalization can make a world of difference.
The difference between "I helped my uncle Jack off a horse" and the version with "jack" is quite big.

Helper wrote:Alright, since I left I've: blitzed my semester finals, had state tests sprung on me, taken said tests, continued to search for the family dog, had a nervous breakdown over dog, and fallen ill with pnuemonia for five weeks of July. All in all, a pretty good summer ^_^.

Now, although I love you all dearly, I'm not altogether thrilled about the prospect of blitzing 1500 pages. So I won't.
So, what's been up?

Oh no, the Messiah is back! The end is nigh! Repent! Repent!
Oh, about Blitzing: don't worry. The Wiki isn't complete, but if it's important it's probably there.
How did your finals go?

Blitzgirl and Yappo, I just want to thank you two. I have The Timewaiter and Rest With Me Here (besides WeLoveTheOTT2) on all the time, and you two really have a synergy, you get to me. Just Wowterful.

Exodies wrote:On the other hand - greetings from Manchester for a few days. Can't get up to the Lakes, but thinking about Yappobiscuits and Morris men and other OTT sidetracks.

They're actually Morris ladies that I play for, but yay!

Rare message from the present due to slowness in acknowledging postal success: I never knew there were Morris ladies. I'm kinda freaked out by this.

There even is one recorded event of a Dark Morris dance. I can't find it, but it was at a Terry Pratchett signing session. Black clothes, no bells and no music. In the Discworld books the Dark Morris is done in secrecy, but these dancers decided to drop that because it would be boring. Pratchet wrote of it in the preface for one of the Discworld books.

Weeee, ketchupped again. My next story already has a skeleton, but the meat on the bones just won't grow. I need insbeeration! But alas, I am at work.
I might split the story up in a few chapters because the skeleton is already 1.5 A4.

One ole boy said "hey Pal, looks like dogbert's thing moved north".
My friend just pulled his hat down low, but they couldn't be ingnored.
One husky fellow said, I think I'll rip that hat right off your head.
That's when my friend turned around, and this is what he said.....

You'll ride the Zanclean flood, 'til the Med-sea's filled high
Rope a black raptorcat and milk it till it's dry
Ride a castle-raft up the Rhone, till it's reached the flat...
Long before you take this OTTer's hat....

Now partner, this ole hat is better left alone,
She used to be buffygirl's, but her haberdash'n's passed on.
TheMinim trained the Rattler that makes up this ole hatband,
Back on np753 before Time had reached its End
Now the raptor feather was given to me by a Grumbly friend of mine
But someone ran him away, somethin' 'bout sigs that crossed the line
And a real Helpful lady gave me this hat pin
But I don't know when she'll see her wolpy again.

You'll ride the Zanclean flood, 'til the Med-sea's filled high
Rope a black raptorcat and milk it till it's dry
Ride a castle-raft up the Rhone, till it's reached the flat...
Long before you take this OTTer's hat

Now if your outsider ways mean to you what this hat means to me
Then I guess we understand each other, and we'll just let it be.
But if you still think it's funny, man, you got my back up against the wall.
And if you touch my hat, your gonna have to fight us all...

Well, right then I caught a little sadness in that outsider's eyes,
And he turned back t'wards the others and they all just sorta shuffled on outside
But when my friend turned back t'wards me, I noticed his old hat brim
Well it was turned up.. in a big ole OTTer grin

I don't know if you have seen the video linked from this page ... it is not a site I would naturally trust, but the video does look like it is real (although any comments from the group here would be interesting). It purports to shows the effects of a tsunami wave on a river a bit away from the coast. Personally I'd have moved further away from that river at the start ... I'm obviously not dedicated enough!

http://www.redflagnews.com/headlines/shocking-new-japan-tsunami-video-found-released

The Mediterranean flooding would, presumably, have been a lot slower ... but I guess some similar effects would have been seen in the tributary rivers.

Well, here are some thoughts of sad wolpies.

Here's a Thaimody:
This OTTer's Hat
To the tune of "This Cowboy's Hat" by Chris Ledoux

Well I was sittin' in a 'net cafe, just ketchin' up the thread of Time.
Swappin' OTC stories with this ole OTTer friend of mine.
When some tread outsiders started snickerin' in the back
started pokin' fun at my friend's hat.
Spoiler:

You'll ride the Zanclean flood, 'til the Med-sea's filled high
Rope a black raptorcat and milk it till it's dryThis OTTer's Hat
Ride a castle-raft up the Rhone, till it's reached the flat...
Long before you take this OTTer's hat

I don't know this song, but your version made me smile and puff out my chest a bit. :)

There is also goth morris, which isn't all that different to regular morris only with black clothes and more minor key tunes.

That was organised by my wife (a morris dancer).

Timedate 1360.

Where has the Time gone? Slipping past in the dark of night? Nay. Blinking by in the flash of a photon, dropping me off 20 newpages in the past.

I really need some Time-resistant clothes.

Well then, Onward and upward!
Um...

Onward and forward!

Thought it was this way...

Spoiler:
Where's the door out of this page?

*creeeeeeeak*

No, that's mscha's closet.

*KERPLANG! BONGBONG
rattlerattlerattle* Oh hey guys! I found the cake-baking equipment. Why is all it in with buffygirl's stuff under the hats?

*THUDM*

*THUDM THUDMTHUDMTHUDMTHUDM crrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkkkkKKKKKKKKK!*

Ahha, this one has a trapdoor. I think I can see newpage 1361 from here. Look like this rope ladder has seen better days, though.

*qqqqqqqqqqquuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrip*

Lots of 3 and 7 OTTercomics! ED is on a roll, there. But, @Eternal Density.. you do know you can download xkcd fonts, right? There are a few different versions based on the changing fonts GLR had over time and I found them easily by googling. I think it would give an added super-bonus to all your neat filking to make it look traditional ;)

Oh, ninja'd by mscha on that. Also YAY MOLPY HUNTER!! Image

Maugrim wrote:Page 231 and counting. I just realised... all these signatures containing shoutouts to the blitzers... they mean me. I'm a blitzer too.

I've registered now. There's still a mountain to climb, but I don't feel so alone anymore.

I wonder when I'll read this post. The thread can't be moving so fast now that the comic's over... can it?

Throwing first-post forward! Welcome, Maugrim and RANDALSPEED on your Blitz! The sigs are talking about you. ;)

lmjb1964 wrote:Oh, and I meant to post this link back when people were posting Magic Eyes and other weird optical illusions. It does have a strobe/epilectic warning. But it's really cool. http://neave.com/strobe/

This is like playing Guitar Hero for hours.. and then looking around you. You get the same affect. The science behind what happens in your eyes during that sort of thing is really neat.

And here's something neat I just found. Someone can build the OTC with these. Just paint some of them black. :P
