Yes, by OTT standards! You last posted over 9 mips ago, but that's not what makes you an Old One.
You are an Old One because you were there at the dawn of Time, as far back as Newpage 16. Now the newpages number in the 1700s!

You know, I never click the citation links, because I figured they were links to some paper and I'm lazy. But I clicked on the citation for the sea being big because I figured it must refer to Time or to the OTT. Turns out the citations have really funny things in them. I guess I should have figured.

Was doing something on GitHub.
Saw own list of contributed repos.
Saw EternalDensity/Sandcastle-Builder.
Read README.md.
Decided to tidy it up.
Found this:

Code: Select all

Icons by ChronosDragon, BlitzGirl, and StormAngel/cmyk.

Maybe Helper and cmyk aren't the same person after all.

Oh yes, that's right: azule thought ED and StormAngel were the same person with twin identities, and then we learned there was another "brother" - obviously a cover for a third identity.

I agree.

It's not me, and it's not the Otter who asked me yesterday about doing the next TaT series when this one finishes, it will be that OTTer not me. (that OTTer's mystery identity being preserved).

Who ever it is can draw, and is here frequently. There is at least one otter that I can think of that meets those criteria, there may be others.

Just because they are here doesn't mean they post often. It is even possible(although unlikely) that they have never posted in the OTT. This makes guessing who it is harder.

Finally I have time to post a thought I had:
Ottish keeps reminding me of "Darmok". The words and grammar are perfectly valid english, but it is still gibberish to anyone who does not know the lore behind it. So if someone does not know the tale about Cueball and Megan finding a neat tree, he would not understand treeish or any other number of our idiosyncrasies. Pretty treeish, huh?

Sadly my hike was cut short. Thursdip I slipped and broke my leg. I am back home now :(
I have the x-rays so I'll post them if it is possible.

The full story:
After a couple of newpix over heavy terrain in Sweden (boulders and stuff like that) I was walking on a patch of simple road, open to normal cars. I was stupid so I wasn't wearing spikes. A nice flat piece of road turned out to be a layer pf ice covered with some snow. I slipped and broke both bones in my lower right leg. My friends called an ambulance and I was brought to the hospital in Nykoping. There I was prodded, checked and had X-rays. This took so long that I got hungry so my brother fetched me a cookie. This cookie turned out to be problematic. It turned out that I need surgery to get my leg working again. And surgery a few hours after eating something isn't a good idea. Once I would be operable again the swelling in my leg would have been too much to operate. I must wait until the swelling subsides which takes about a hectonewpix. Now I am home again and I have Time enough to ketchup.

Although the robot and the mustard are still beyond me.

At some point mscha wrote a script which posted the newpix automatically; it's called "newpixbot" and later on somebody drew a picture of it as the robot that you see in recent newpixbot posts.

(For further background: At first it posted the new frame as soon as it became available. However, people still wanted to be able to post the images themselves, so mscha changed the script to wait until 10 minutes after the hour. If nobody had posted that image's hash in the thread yet, then newpixbot would post at that point. Now newpixbot is doing the same thing for the Time After Time images, but the images only come every 4 hours and newpixbot allows 30 minutes after it's available before posting.)

The origins of mustard are explained here, and then it became a more general term that's sometimes used for anything bad or wrong, such as a bug in code or a problem with the forums.

Plausible, there may be small amounts of semencancercoffeebaconbabies-like soil up there. It'll have to be a riverish castle though, like the pre-raptorcat one.

Indeed, and I'm actually doing Outside things outside this weepend. I went to a riverish river that sometimes has otters, but didn't. We also drank at a pub called "Twice Brewed" in a place called "Once Brewed", because this is England.
