Celebrate, the epilogue returns!
bobs again the ebb and flow of time
flow and ebb the bobbing magic meter
which jumps forward, bumping every rhyme
while other structures might be neater
this cadence froths RELATED with each line.
I made my avatar, Buffygirl hatted it, Yappo smileyed it and ggh taroted it!
I've changed, witnessing this thing so beautiful

MOLPHINS DON'T KNOW ABOUT MY WOTTERMOLPY

Postby ChronosDragon » Mon Jun 02, 2014 9:48 pm UTC

Oh good. Time is back.

Unfortunately, I don't really have any to spare, as school is ramping up for one last kick in the ass before summer.

But to anyone who remembers my interview, I did get the internship! Yay for minimum-wage, part time summer work! :D

Congrats, CD! Hopefully your school's summer ramping won't kick too hard in the ass-before1.

HES wrote:Minimum wage is better than unpaid "work experience"

Also known as slave labor. I never understood how that's legal when every other type of uncompensated work has been outlawed. Especially when the internship is part of the graduation requirements, like student teaching is for most education degrees. The only exception I can see to that is if the company doesn't benefit directly from the work (i.e. a paid employee must redo all of the work separately and the intern is only given the task for educational purposes).

Well, not every type. "We need you to cover the deployment this weekend" is still fully in use. But yes, minimum wage, and relevant employment is good on two counts.

But... do we have a list of OTTer molpies? I'll will start the list and maybe it will catch on. So far we've got:
Spoiler:
1 hamply (HES)
1 snake, allergic to empty spoilers (Corrine)
1 molbison, classy with a twapstick (Goggalor)
1 astronaut (balthasar_s)
1 turtlemolp, turltemolphatted, turtlemolphatted, turtlemolphatted (ZoomanSP)
1 octomeowlpy (ergman)
1 peacockmeowlpy (Vytron)
1 firefoxmolpy (adnapemit)
1 strangemolp (karhell; though I am not really sure which kind of molpy he is)
1 zombiemolp, undead (neil_boekend)
1 slug (slinches)
1 Na'vi (taixo)
1 crabmolpy, blue (BlueCrab)
2 otters (yappobiscuits and ronaldkr)
2 supercomputers, mildly homicidal (our two HALs)
2 stonefigures
3 dragons (1 great - Dracomax; 1 Time - Chronosdragon; 1 molpish - AluisioASG)
a lot of meolwpies (red, misty and otherwise)
many brainslugs

Ok I think that's it for now... feel free to expand.

The stragemolp is called Larg and is a Mokona Modoki, from the manga xxxHolic.
Anyway, one might say this list is a molpish idea ^^

EDIT: didn't see profile image, so did what your username said! :/

Aye, I see where the confusion comes from. Maybe some explaining is due ?
I've been using this handle for about 10 yips, now. It started off with my great-uncle's meowlpy named Carelle (actual spelling unknown) whose encounter with a lorry went about as well as one can imagine. As a homage, I gave a fantasyified version of her name (first Carhell, then Karhell when I remembered how to write a proper gothic 'K') to a friendly NPC in a D&D game I was DMing at the time. Said NPC quickly became a recurring character and eventually an author avatar. From there, the transition to my actually using the name was just a matter of time.

So no, I have nothing to do with automotive Afterlife, though I like the drawing

So... yeah, no relation between username and avatar. The username has been there since before my internettish beginnings. The avatar... not so much. I've actually gone through quite a few (including, but in no way limited to : Captain Caveman, my meowlpy, Kuroneko-sama (from Trigun), Kain on his throne (Soul Reaver intro), and the spirit-king from Fairy Tail). I seem to have settled on Mokona these xips, for the sole reason that I like the character ^^

Haha! I fell for that, too. Sneaky mrob, nerd sniping us again! They're the same image...for now, until HES decides to sneaky ninja us with a new image.

Actually, I use GIMP and Inkscape. Oh, that's a rhetorical question? So is that. ;)

I had powerpoint, I think, where I used to work. I never used it, but it was there (probably part of a suite). I was happy doing everything I could in HTML+JS+CSS. Some clients actually integrated a power point presentation into their web page. I think.

Hi, everymolpy! Just taking a break from a disjointed ketchup (who knew ketchup had joints in the first place?) to say I'm reading along and seeing so many wondrous and awesomeful things on the way. I am also VERY excited about the OTTer meetup on Saturday! Woot! Wish trolleypup could join us, but he'll be off hiking in the Sierra, apparently. But vvn, BlueCrab, and freezblade will be there. Double woot! Personally, I think that since ChronosDragon has already started heading south, he should just keep going till he gets to SF. And BlitzGirl, I'm sure there are some good fares from Seattle...

In other news, apparently the answer to "I wonder if these meatballs are still good?" was no rather than yes. :( Blah.

Keught up. I'm foregoing my usual postreplies for raptorcattishness, but there was much azuling and enjoyment over the last several pages. As always. So nice to see everyone here. Hopefully BG gets moved soon so she can come back here where she belongs.

I will say thanks, azule, for the de-UNIXifying. :) Also, "All Wolpies Go to the Treat Jar and Stare at It with Hopeful Eyes, Acting as if They Haven't Eaten in a Wip." My meowlpy does it too.

Twoflower, the Disc's first tourist wrote:Sometimes I think a man could wander across the disc all his life and not see all there is to see.

Seaish trivia:
Spoiler:
Twoflower is played by Sean Astin in the television movie The Colour of Magic. Sean Astin also played Samwise Gamgee, and is the son of Patty Duke Astin, who played Helen Keller in the original movie ‘The Miracle Worker’ and her teacher, Annie Sullivan, in a later remake. In ‘The Miracle Worker’ Annie finally gets through to Helen by pouring water into her hands while repeatedly forming Helen's hands into the sign for ‘water.’ This could probably make a fine Related string for someone who has the patience and a larger screen to work with ;) as Anne Bancroft played the original Annie Sullivan and Melissa Gilbert of ‘Little Town on the Prairie’ (log cabins, lots of grassland - especially in the books written by Laura Ingalls Wilder) played the later Helen. Also possibly Related is that the Ring that Sam helped Frodo finally destroy came into Gollum's hands in a river...

OTTers' language-quiz results
Spoiler:
ChronosDragon wrote:Best Guess: American Standard, Canadian, Australian
Native Language: English, Spanish, Portuguese
Which is interesting, because I don't speak Spanish or Portuguese. I do, however, parle le français. I guess they're pretty related.
And it didn't guess French at all. I guess the Native Language portion really needs refining.

andapemit wrote:I think there is very little difference between Australian and New Zealand grammar(I could be wrong). I also didn't see any answers/options that made me think "Oh that's something that I have heard only New Zealanders say".
I got 1. Canadian 2. American(Standard) 3. Australian. I think it failed to recognise Australian more because I didn't check the answers "She'll/he'll be right" when referring to certain object/things for some of the questions because although I think its acceptable grammar it was used incorrectly (in my opinion) in the examples given. Since that seemed to be the only thing that distinguishes the Australian grammar I think it only appeared in my list since my answers didn't identify any other location as likely.
There is some odd usage in the quiz, and more in the Verbs project.

What is Ms. Frizzle up to, anyway? Maybe the Beanies secretly hate the 40. She needed them to get Zombeanie out, but now that she doesn't need them anymore, she's going to push them into the poison river to finish them off. Thus end Cuegan.

Ch*rp! I can't count, apparently. I thought I was going to be pope. Forgot about post # 40. And I had a decree and everything.

Ch*rp. We decided that it was still double-posting even if it ends up on the next page, right? Of course, no one can post an answer without becoming pope. :(
