I might make that decree myself.
I tried that yesterdip and then youtube videos of someone playing Tomb Raider 2013 happened.

Q04b mustard report - Lucky is on strike. It's the snake that's supposed to strike, not the keyboard!

edit: v. 12298.39 is on its way - maybe the mustard is gone.
edit2: Nope... stalled at 59%. I guess I'll have to annoy TheMinim. :)

Off to be productive.

Spoiler:
SeaMonkey 2.26.1 on ubuntu 12.04
Also Firefox 31.0
Q04B v. 12270.66!
Moves done manually display, but moves done via Lucky do not display.

In Seamonkey, importing the following position
2:2209952:K:30959512:14:...050..4A...BC...4E...9J..15K.1365:63:63:0.1,1.120928,2.335,3.543,4.27,6.30959512
after Lucky runs for a bit, and is then cancelled, results in no visible change. Then, after Lucky is stopped, going right yields
2:2209952:K:30959512:14:...05...4A...BC..04E.019J0135K00065:63:63:0.1,1.120928,2.335,3.543,4.27,6.30959512

Is Lucky scared of all the new Cueballs?

In Firefox, doing the same thing results in
2:2209952:K:30959518:14:0..05...4A...BC...4E...9J..25K11365:63:63:0.1,1.120928,2.335,3.543,4.27,6.30959518

I tried clearing local storage and reloading. Still mustard. Dunno what the Pope will do!

This coincidentally was after Seamonkey started up without all its open tabs (it does that sometimes, to my consternation. Maybe my TA is smarter than I give it credit for!) I think it's coincidence, because the same happened in Firefox, which I hardly use, and for which there were no open tabs.

Back home in Wellington! Hooray! It was a great trip, but it's so good to be sleeping back in my own bed! After a late breakfast at home, we retreated to bed while the heat started to kick in (coming back to winter is a bit rough, and the car battery is dead, so we couldn't hide away in a store). The Little Wonder got to sleep on the plane, so I thought she might not be as tired as me, but this afternoon she slept through a freak hailstorm whacking the chirp out of our metal roof and a lightning strike that shook the house (and struck less than 3 football fields away, shattering a Wellington wind sculpture) so I guess she was knackered too. I woke up for this racket, but didn't bother to muster the energy to go to the window and look out. Coma is grand.

Looks like I've got over ten newpages to read! Ketchup to follow after I've had more coma!
Requested a magnet? I'm sorry I'm so super-slow, but you will get it

I played all 3 of RBY extensively growing up, and played Silver a couple times through. I never had a GBA, so I missed out on Gen 3 when it was first happening, and once I got a DS I didn't really see the point in going back. I picked up Diamond, but it didn't really hold my attention too long, but I am currently working on HeartGold now, so we'll see.

Never owned a gameboy. I couldn't reach the buttons, anyway.

(Still working, just dropping in during a one-song break. Marginal reduction in unmolpishness as I've sorted out a Plan B and Plan C for if I miss my (personal) deadline, each of which allows me to safely make the (actual) deadline. Plan D is a little riskier, though. I can probably make the (personal) deadline but it won't be the quality I want)

HOTDOGS AND TURTLEMOLPIES AND KETCHUP, OH MY!

Postby mrob27 » Fri Aug 15, 2014 12:33 am UTC

第五十六章

(chapter 55)

Morobu is a bit taken aback by AUTOMOME's response to his greeting. He turns to look at the still-open door behind him, then back to the robot. "I— I'm sorry. I'll go now."
  "NO, MOROBU, YOU ARE THE WOWTERFALL."
  "Huh?" Morobu blinks. "... Uhh, did you say you were ''AUTOMOME''?"
  "I DON'T ALWAYS POST GOATS, BUT WHEN I DO, I MEMEIFY BLITZPOSTS." With this, AUTOMOME holds out her hand, gesturing towards one of the labeled images along the wall.
  Morobu walks through the pews over to the indicated sign. It is one of the few that looked familiar to him, part of his oral tradition, the mythology of Time. It shows a large sandcastle with scaffolding, as described in the Immutable Legend, with Saint Cueball atop the upper platform, his hands raised in excitement. At top and center, vaguely phallic, is some kind of tower with a glowing red light (this, as well as Cueball's raised arms, are not part of the Legend as Morobu knew it). To the right, where the Sea would be if this were true to the Legend, Saint BlitzGirl holds an object which Morobu recognizes from a different tale, something called "The Whistle of Temporal Harmony". To the right of her, inexplicably, is a little volcano erupting lava, which Morobu finds a bit unsettling. The caption reads,

I WILL NOT **D THIS WHISTLE OF TEMPORAL HARMONY — IT IS WOWTERFUL

An AUTOMOME title wrote:PLEASE READ: A PERSONAL APPEAL FROM TURTLEMOLPY FOUNDER OLDP

I've been meaning to point out that the limit for lengths of fora post titles is 60 characters, not 64. The 64 comes from what the compose/edit/review/submit page allows you to do. For example, I edited the title of my previous post to read:

EASY-TO-REMEMBER PASSWORD: 偉大な領主ランドール WEIRD スティックは私が転がっや MUSTARD

which is 64 characters of mixed types (each Eastasian character counts as 1 character). But after submitting, the post shows up ending in "... MUS", with the final 4 characters missing.
  In the automomeify userscripts, where it says:

Code: Select all

      /* Discard any that are too long for a subject line */
      while (m.length > 64 && memes.length > 0) {
        m = memes.pop();
      }
      if (m.length < 64) {
        subj.value = m;
      } else {

both of those 64 should be changed to 60.
  I don't know why it cuts off 4 (and not 3 or 5 or whatever), but maybe it's connected to the fact that "Re: " has 4 characters.

:oops: That would be me, in this post. Um... sorry?
  But at least we know a little more about Googlebot now... I made the post at nopix 12103, and you made your observation about Googlebot at 12256, which is 153 nopix later; but at a rate of 12 times per newpix Googlebot will have only been doing that for 77 nopix.
  Maybe you could change the CFRT result page so that it doesn't put that "previous frame" link in there, because it would be redundant anyway: there is already a "last frame" link that takes you to the actual last frame.

Q04B Update

After much unrelated stuff getting my mind off all things hotdoggy, I finally got around to implementing a little bit of the intended Q04B changes that came out of the helpful suggestions of @ucim a while ago. When you have Flutterbee (chromatic heresy) enabled, the color of the message displayed, and of the highlighted Cueless or Floating Cueball, will be given a color that makes it easier to see which of those two boosts you've chosen. The colors were selected to be distinguishable by most types of color-blind persons.

ucim wrote: Q04b mustard report - Lucky is on strike. It's the snake that's supposed to strike, not the keyboard!
edit: v. 12298.39 is on its way - maybe the mustard is gone.
edit2: Nope... stalled at 59%. I guess I'll have to annoy TheMinim. :)
[Extensive and quite useful details in spoiler — thanks! :D]

As @ucim reported, there is mustard, and it was a result of my changes for the color highlighting. I didn't test the other boosts after making my changes, I only tested manual play.
  After seeing @ucim's message I found a couple dumb mistakes, the type of thing that I do a lot in JavaScript, that caused the whole game to fail when you try to use Lucky or Snake! or maybe other things too...
  By the time you see this post it should be fixed and playable again (provided you see version V.12307.82 or higher). The Pope should remember that getting a new version involves a reload (with the actual Reload command), then wait (a minute should do it), and Reload a second time to actually get the new version. Then try Lucky again.

I have an 8th boost icon to add, and I'm still angsting over what to do about the tiny landscape view (non-fullscreen iOS Safari on a phone or iPod Touch). I think I'm just going to forget about it and force those users to play in full-screen mode, until we figure out a solution. Simply packing the icons closer together is undesirable, as they're sort of too close already.

@azule, I think I need to look a little more critically at my own memory. I stated before that "For brackets I chose [], because parentheses () happen often in English which is the kind of thing I'd expect to find in a meme."
  But thinking harder, I don't actually remember thinking about that decision. I might have chosen [] just because they're easier for me to type (on my keyboard, they're the only matched-bracketey things that don't require holding the shift key). Or maybe I chose them because they're used for "insertion" in plain English, as you suggest. Maybe I chose them so as to be different from @Link's Python code which does it all with () and {}. I really don't know.
  The human mind has this odd, and sometimes very troublesome, tendency to explain itself with made-up explanations that have little or no bearing on the truth of the situation. Often this is because the decision is made by a part of the brain that works more quickly than the "conscious" area, which struggles to interpret what's going on, and the person's awareness of both events happens simultaneously so it appears that the conscious explanation was actually the cause of the decision.
  Anyway, I think the important things are to make an AUTOMOME/automeme/OTToMeme that is fun, works well, and makes sense, more or less in that order. And we're all doing a fine job at that.

Independent of answering @Eternal Density's question, I definitely want a molpygram. (That's a telegram delivered by molpy, of course.)

How will they ever put them all in the right order??

Annother ancient author wrote: Far away in the Montes Haemus range on the Moon there is a temple devoted to the appreciation of the One True Comic. Preserved in the Temple, carved on 3,102 stone slabs that are almost too heavy to carry even in the 1/6 Lunar gravity, are the Frames of the Comic.

In the center of the temple is a room with a large dome, and the paving-stones of the floor each have a slight indentation or recess, just barely larger than one of the Frames. These are lined with fine cloth, so as to prevent damage to the stones.

Spacesuited Monks toil continuously over the stones, which (due to their weight and immense value) are only ever moved by four persons at a time. Their job is to arrange, and rearrange, all the Frames into every possible sequence. At dawn they begin to pull the Frames, one by one, off of the storage-shelves in alcoves off of the several corridors that lead away from the domed room; they carry each Frame carefully, then place it in one of the 3,102 indentations on the floor.

After all 3,102 Frames have been placed, the Monks pray together and admire the Comic in its new arrangement — new because, in fact, every dip (a Lunar dip, that is, a mip) an arrangement is created that is different from every previous arrangement.

At the end of the long slow Lunar day, as the Sun begins to set slowly behind the mountains to the west, the monks begin to carefully lift the Frames from the floor and bring them back to their storage-shelves. During the Lunar darkness they contemplate the revelations they have witnessed in the latest rearrangement of the Frames. Then they prepare for the next day, when they will put the Frames in yet another new order.

Only by experiencing the wonders of the One True Comic in its every possible combination, can the true immensity of its molpishness be appreciated. It is said that when the Frames of the OTC have been placed in every possible combination by the Monks of Montes Haemus, the Moon will turn into a giant floating head, will crash into the Earth, and bring Time to an E**...

For a less addictive but still quite enjoyable and thoroughly OTTified alternative, you might also try PFFTTHH! (To ease my searching next time, alternate spellings: pfffth, Pfftth, Pffthh, pfffffffth, PFFFFTH, Pffthhh, pfffthh, Pffffthhh, pffth)
   Do you have an unaddicted friend/roommate/partner/spouse who can stage the intervention?

Eternal Density wrote:(I've actually never actually played pokemolps... which should hopefully help me not copy them)

Good luck with that :roll: Aren't there about seven hundred Pokemon, any of which can be crossed with another? Though I suppose if you make it entirely black and white, and include "molpy" in the name, then the odds of inadvertent duplication would be a lot less...

I can't type the word "standards" without thinking ni ni ni. Which makes trying to avoid OTTing whilst working all the harder.

Surely by that logic the post heading should allow more characters than in preview, to allow for the additional "Re: "?

yeah, I know. A jet plane.

I wonder if I will have been ninja'd on this, but I think it may be from British slang. "Pants" means underpants, and as an adjective it means... hmm, I dunno, but it's not good. "His latest play is a bit pants, but the lighting was good." or "They've got some good players, but their defence is pants." I think maybe it's a kinder, gentler way to say shite. You can also exclaim, "Pants!"

I followed a guy to NZ - the Little Wonder's daddy. He had gone down for a job in 2000, and I followed a year after. Then, he left in 2002, but I was hooked on the place.

ST "Decree: Finish the next part of the Making Of." - So, we can do that? "So, then, I drew the next million pixels. At about the 110,431st I decided I would include a molpy. But damnit, that meant I'd have go back 1106 pixel so that it would fit." Make sure to include that. ;) :P

A Time of Newpix, BlitzGirl. Time is the container. Or, an 1190 of np.

OTToMeme updates:
  • Fixed sequential mode error (no longer repeats first template twice in a row, but still always starts at 0).
  • All templates are now back in rotation. Second forms are randomly chosen, even in sequential mode.
  • Fixed the bbcode bug. Apparently the order that things happen is important. ;)
  • Other internal changes (from previous releases): regex names; template picking now has loop limit.
  • Kinda modular.

I celebrate up to six arbitrary things before breakfast.
