Edit for decree, a suitably out-of-context quote :

Also, on the conference front, and after some unusually heated discussions with my wife, I have the regret of announcing I'll be unable to come to Bochum :(
However, digital attendance is perfectly viable. I am therefore a {'physical' : 0.0, 'digital' : 1.0, 'Speech' : 'Work in progress'}

Is this a new venue for GLR, or does he write draw articles all of the time and I just wasn't paying attention?

Yeah, the CPU usage is very low, at least in Chrome where it uses about 8% of CPU in my case, in Firefox it's 30%. It takes 30% of GPU time thoughtm (in both browsers). And there's a huge difference in performance when it runs on the integrated graphics and when I force it to run with the dedicated graphics card, so GPU is really doing most of the work. But it's still impressive for a web browser app.

tmYou can't see this in Task Manager unfortunately. I'm using Process Explorer by Sysinternals to see it.

The train from me to Old Cueganville goes under the sea and still has phone signal whilst doing so. And they're having to make sure the road network had good coverage so that cars can browse the thread whilst driving themselves.

Or something along those lines.

So I just had "the talk" with my gf where I "came out" as an OTTer and explained the whole thing to her :P. I had to explain the conference because it sort of clashes with Jorvik Viking Festival which we're going to together, and thus had to explain the OTT too. It was difficult as she was very impatient and demanded a quick explanation. One does not simply quickly and easily explain the OTT. XD

Indeed not. Just yesterday I was at a writers group meeting and was asked why I had not brought anything in recently. I told them that I wasn't working on anything right now... except... well, there's this thing... and spent the next ten minutes trying to explain the OTC and the OTT and the Blitz and the lexicon and the film and the Holy Contradiction... I don't think I succeeded, but I'm tempted to bring in a chapter of the Acts just for giggles.

I'll probably spend more time explaining its background than reading it.

The sixth panel background looks like a closeup of semencoffeecustardcancerbaconstarsandbabiesonice.

Lots of wowterful stuff on these pages! Still have two more pages to ketchup, but hthis is already becominga seaish post.

What a wonderful 5000 party for mscha and his bots! I keep hoping mscha himself will make an appearance. BlitzGirl, loved your pic of NPB and the redundabot!

And I'm really enjoying revisiting Ti1 (and congrats on 100, ST!)

Glad to see EoM has a stylish hat to go with his new avatar.

balthasar, what an epsilon dream! I wonder what it means?

mattachu, baobabs, it's been ages! Treeish to see you!

Good luck with the continuing raptor alignment, HES and SBN, and happy continued MFF (molpy-food-funding, i.e., employment) to y'all and Lu!

Loved that article about communication between AngloSaxons and Germans, ED. Although I have to agree with some of the comments that there's a lot of variation between regions and even individuals in the US.

Hope you feel better, ChrDr.

What is astrocystal quantum entanglement?

Seaish news from freezeblade about the Fluff thread! "Weeeee are the champions, my friennnnds..."

Wow, Exodies! It's Exodies! That video you posted was steakish.

Congrats for 1000 posts, Zooman! Loved the OTTercomic, and the cake.

OMR, it's StormAngel! And with a steakish otty! Even with the video it was hard to make the words match up, they went by so fast!

Hi, rekter. I hope you'll stay longer this time too.

Well, that was too much fun. Treeish! :D

HAL9000 wrote:And Crowning refers to our passing up Fluff, yes?
Yes. To our emerging triumph. *giggles*

I was sick last nip. I'm getting better. But, probably need more coma.

I got the "crowning" reference, but I'm still not sure what the other FFS refers to.
Glad you're getting better. I was feeling better and went to work todip, now I feel worse. :(

It's "for f*ck's sake".

ETA: That was my 1190th post? I wanted it to be something important, for f*ck's sake!

I don't like the world described in the latest What If.

Thanks for posting that, Zooman. Made my dip.

The meetup sounds great! I'll try to come, I'm not so far from there (at least I'm on the same continent :p). Let's say 75% chances.... but it's hard to be sure before January.... is it fine to give a definitive answer only then?

So much unbasement! So treeish (I'm pretty sure I'm doing that wrong, but whatevs.)

freezeblade, if I can go to the meetup, so can you! Of course, I'm not sure yet whether I can got to the meetup...

Well done to lmjbot for covering the thread, and well done to the blankets for covering a steambottlish Timpgoddess.

:D My meowlpy helped quite a bit as well.

ED, I finally looked into what this Desert Bus thing was all about. I'd never heard of the game. The clips I've seen are pretty funny, and the Bussin' Desert Style parody was awesomeful. And, hats.

And ggh, I was just thinking about you. Nice to see you! Thanks to you and the others who are tracking the epilogue.

Neil, the mesmerizing thing you posted doesn't seem to like my organized sand. Probably just as well, I don't need something else to be distracted by.

Aw, that was to me, when I was wondering if everyone on the thread had gotten married in a Moonies-type ceremony. I miss StratPlayer. :(

Hi, bmonk! It's been a while. Good to see you.

yappobiscuits wrote:So I just had "the talk" with my gf where I "came out" as an OTTer and explained the whole thing to her :P. I had to explain the conference because it sort of clashes with Jorvik Viking Festival which we're going to together, and thus had to explain the OTT too. It was difficult as she was very impatient and demanded a quick explanation. One does not simply quickly and easily explain the OTT. XD
