Why are these two posts only quotes with no other text? Isn't that not allowed or something?

I got my questions answered by bothasar_p,
brought to us by balthasar_s who didn't add anything to bothasar_p's words.

HAL9000 wrote:Also, important: all of the bftf images aren't displaying for me, and the links redirect to a "webpage not available" error page.

I guess that the connection to the moon has some mustard.
ETA: Hey, it seems to be up again now.

You parsed my post wrong, actually. The Neil quote and the Balthasar quote are the two posts referenced in my question ("Why are these two posts only quotes with no other text?") and the one about horizontal bars stands alone with its attached question. I guess I should've used better spacing. There is much confusion today! Also we have five-deep quoteblocks, and that reminds me of the old times when we argued nonstop about Lego[e]s.

ETA: Pope'd! Decree: Somebody explain to me what's going on! (You don't have to explain what's going on with the OTT, just what's going on with something)

Yes, precisely. It's Earth's point of origin symbol in the Stargate movie and TV series.

And I took NB's quote only response to be an answer to the question of what symbol was being referred to. I'm not sure about the other one.

My botcastle has a dynamic IP.
It changes sometimes.
The moon is moving relative to the Earth. It goes out of reach of one of the antennas and then the next takes over. It the IP number doesn't always survive this unchanged. The botcastle soon updates its dynamic DNS entry. Your browser, OS and/or your DNS provider may still remember the old one and change it a little later. In the meantime someone else gets my previous IP. While trying to see the bftframes you send the request to someone else. Their computer/router/and/or/server is confused and generates an error message. Or doesn't reply at all depending on their sand organisation.

While my post is entirely made of a quote it's not a quote of another post. It's original content from my bot delivered by me.

Should I be afraid that bothasar_p makes changes in his own source code?
From a #define mismatch the "bot4" process actually tried to write to bot4.c.

I should have gone coma but it's Christmas eve, and who can properly coma on Christmas Eve when you're waiting for your coal!

I was looking forward to realtime interaction in the immediate now, but now I'm presently present (at Christmas) and want so much to say so much to things like yappobiscuit's Merry Ch*rpmas post and the gift of Cake from SBN and to apologise for not including a translation in my last post (thanks, BlitzGirl), but my mind has lost a goal. The journey was so much more than the destination.

Hey, you ch*rping ch*rpwit, do you realise just how offensive that could sound?

Um, no? Every OTTer has been through the Voldeframe despair. Cakes and Ale, Tea and Sympathy, empathy, forgiveness, other old book titles. That's the OTT.

Well, if you're sure. Bring your own sprinkles. You're here now. Do something.

Who, me? Anything I can do, every OTTer can do better. And has done.

Just fake it. OTTify something.

Well, okay. Does it have to be good?

Duh. Just do it.

But I'm not my normal happy purring self. My Blitz has obsessed me for the past four mips, and now it's over. It's over. There's something missing from my life.

Quit whining. Even attractive, young, clever and creative people can't get away with that. What chance do you have, you dried-up old ch*rpwit?

Oh, thank you just enough. Now get lost, I have OTTifying to do.

Spoiler:
CueganMegball

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: A vast and sculpted house of sand
Stands in the desert. Near it, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered molpy lies, whose hand,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Cuegan Megball, queens and kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Woulds't that that time could now to us return
The Ongs awaited constant in their thrum.
Repeated and redundant, with Time's turn
A hive of molpish movement, like a drum
beat, keeping time, repeating Time; that beat
that like a Molpy's heartbeat loud and strong
will tick off tallies totalled, treeish, neat;
But yet each newpix tallied, every Ong
that echoes, heard or unheard, is the same
beat of the drum that counts the life-sand's fall
through life's constricted hourglass; though the game
was magic, like the wond'rous wowterfall,
the journey ends in evil. And the name
of all that's evil is this: Voldeframe.

Oh Ch*rp. Not quite as fun-filled as I intended. I had a whole different idea when I started that, but I think my coma-lack took over.

OK. Coma. Now. Not later. Now. Coma.

Look, you self-centered moggy, what have you forgotten?

Hey, I'm old. I forget stuff... Oh, you're right. Merry thingy, everymolp.

Allow me to add my redundant wishes! Don't stay Outside too long!

And for the decree, what's going on here is Seasonal Festivities todip. Tomorrow we'll be taking SW to the molpy doctor. Good chance she needs some minorish surgery. But she's really old, so that's scary. The next day is the 5th of 6 airport trips, this one is a drop-off. Then, packing, because the day after that I go back to my new home town. And finally, the day after that, I get the keys to our rental, so that we can begin the process of the wolpies (And, of course, MSWFP) moving there too.

My internet hookup won't be complete in the rental yet though, so I may not be able to take my own advice about not staying Outside too long.

Just sticking my head in from the Outside with the family to say Merry Christmas to all OTTers (and also all otters). Also, I got the What If book as a Present present. The UK foreword is molpish.

For decree:
I am currently sat down preparing to watch the Queen's Speech. The Queen of England gives a speech every Christmas Day to the whole Commonwealth. The speech is prerecorded and is a part of many families' Christmas traditions.

t1i - Let's Go To The Top!

Postby SilentTimer » Thu Dec 25, 2014 6:30 pm UTC

One year ago, SilentTimer wrote:

*** STARTING THOUGHT TRANSMISSION FROM THE PAST ***

The sequel has started.
OTTers are speculating about it.
Good.

Okay, so let's advance the story.
The next thing to draw will be Cuegan's climbing tour to the top.

This is like Blitzing the OTT, just the other way round:
I'm not in the past, but in the future.
Why must time travel be so exhausting?
Spoiler:
SilentTimer wrote:Okay. Next climbing scene.
The background must match the previous scene, with a slight overlap.
This turned out as not the best method. I's just too easy to lose overview, in particular when fixing mustard.

New method: Draw the background image as a whole.
Let's start with this peak², the highest mountain² of Asinara.
I've found some photos of it.

*loads the photos in The GIMP*
*scales them to match the OTC: 1q = 38px*

Image
Image
(Click on image for seaish version.)

*draws the silhouette*

Image

What plants grow there? The vegetation has changed in 10,000 years.

In our Present, this is a hill² on an island² in the Mediterranean Sea¹. In the OTC's Present it has been a mountain¹ of over 3,000m for thousands of years. It's just the second day that it is a hill² on an island² again.

So it has been formed by a Mediterranean climate, but drier, with a lot of wind. Let's choose plants between those in the OTC (which grow at a lower altitude) and those on the photos (which grow close to the sea¹). And some grass (which grows at a lower altitude and close to the sea¹).

Image

There are some places with less wind where those typical bushes can grow. They're smaller than those growing down the hill, though.

Image

Now let's build up the cairn, stone by stone, so Cuegan can disassemble it when they build their castle.

Image

Okay, that's it.

Image

*draws*
*exports*
*checks*
*mustard*
*fixes mustard*
*exports*
*checks*
*more mustard*
*fixes more mustard*
*exports*
*checks*
*and so on*

Yeah! Now let's have a break and build a sandcastle.

Oh ch*rp! I need this background in a higher resolution.

*scales it up*

Image

*darkens it*

Image

*does some manual tweaking*

Image

Ch*rp! I need this with the bags and without them.
Shall I restart or remove the bags from what I have?

*removes the bags*

Image

Looks OK, except for the plants.
*does some manual tweaking*
Nope.
*removes the plants*

Image

*redraws the plants*

Image

Much better. Now they look as if they were drawn in this resolution originally and scaled down for the previous frames. ;)

Do I want to scale up the cairn stone by stone? Not really. Better hide it stone by stone with white masks when Cuegan disassemble it.

*draws*
*exports*
*checks*
*mustard*
*fixes mustard*
*exports*
*checks*
*more mustard*
*fixes more mustard*
*exports*
*checks*
*and so on*

Okay. Now let's jump over to the Beanies on the sea¹.
How does a view through a theodolite look like?

*researches*

Okay. They have stadia marks. Their crosshairs are actual hairs. They are professionals, so their image is upside-down. They are looking from the sea¹ side, so the image is flipped horizontally.

Now I need some new Beanish text:
Image with a question mark instead of a full stop. Fortunately that's easy. Just draw a circle.

I'm fascinated by these glimpses of The Making Of t1i. Image It's treeish to have the replay going at the same Time.

Instead of what I got I'll tell what I did.
I built some presents in a similar way to how I built the bots.

If you're disappointed that there is no molpy hunting possible in bftf. That's not exactly true. So far I managed to put one molpy in it. Not found yet.

I got mine a bit ago, too. It's a new Mobile Time Accesser. Well, more a Mobile Time Accesser Service Provider at the moment.
