I found hope.

(okay, I lie. but that sounded inspirational or something, eh?)

Awesomeful/wowterful, ggh! I can't believe there are more in there than I already found. I found it to be a fun game of "recognize and name the OTTer by avatar". I was only at a loss for 1 or 2 names.

There's a snake on the wall, but it wasn't Corrinne(sp?).

Congrats to ucim on a belated 2900. *urge to verify number trumped by laziness*

Squee. I found me. I wasn't sure that I'd be there, and I hadn't found myself, but ED's post encouraged me to look again, and there I was (looking like what I had expected I might in the event that I HAD been included).

I've always known that OTTers regard OTTers -- even lurking ones -- as OTTers, but there's an additional sense of warm-fuzzy belonging when you find yourself with everyone.

It's a molpish feeling.

Thanks ggh (and all the welcoming OTTers throughout Time)

When I was building a telephone which was my first "real" electronic device (and at that time looked more like this) I needed two diodes parallel to the speaker. To reduce the loud clicks from the roary dial. Normal diodes weren't good for this. A silicon diode has voltage drop about 0,7V. A germanium diode has voltage drop about 0,2V. Where do I find germanium diodes now? (At that time I had never bought a single electronic part yet.) I didn't have this useful wish-granting bot. The same week I found a board with 4 germainum diodes just lying on the pavement on the bridge. There is always many people there, nobody else noticed it?

Hah! That's funny! You've got this zancleanly awesomeful bftf going all the Time! That's a pretty grand party you're throwing. :) (Btw, congrats!)

Baobabs! Y'all have found heaps of the OTTers and things! So quickly! Although, my latest peek inside a spoiler shows me that perhaps you've found a few things that aren't ottish as well. ;)

To answer a few questions/comments: Nope, no rvloon (sadly, he didn't make my arbitrary cutoff for recentness) or Beardo (teehee). I thought/hoped that was what you were doing, moody - apologies for not putting the dart closer to the center of the target; it wasn't reading as well there. I'm afraid you're in there pretty subtly, micdi, and I put you in a while ago....Ninja'd! The snake on the wall is in the original, azule, as are the guys at the bottom who seem to be arguing over what Time it is. And, um, the sea, rivers and castle. :)

Yes, so many detail in t1i!

I had a dream tonight: I was talking with someone. He said that he doesn't know who is drawing the mysteryongs but he really hopes that it's not me. I asked why. (I knew it's not me) I don't remember his explanation. But I remember that he was using "ong" as an adjective.

So this and this and this and this and all the other things you did within your first 1000 posts are nothing? Baobabs!

As Eternal Density reminded us, there are many ways to Time. Some of us culminate their most seaish contributions at RNMs. Some of us do baobabish things when they feel it's Time for them. Some of us are giving all of us a molpish feeling with each of their posts. Some of us just lurk, read and enjoy. All this is molpish.

You created mrImagebdexbot. This bot is looking at every darkening pixel bit in an OTT index, extracts an OTTified story⁷, and posts it to the OTT. So you created a virtual OTTer who posted your 1000th post. That's certainly a gigantic ottification.

That's ok. I don't have time to look for myself :-)

Just the past year: moved house, but none of the friends who said they would help showed up. Had to be bailed out by the Dutch military. Got sued by landlord. Trial on April 24th. Next up: trial on Monday (old rental agency). Girlfriend broke her hand (two fingers). Prospect bleak, but through (her) perseverance, she might actually make a full recovery (because they did a botch job up at the hospital in 'repairing' it). Obviously this happened right after the move.

So, for some reason very little time for Time. Seems I am only 700 pages behind, though...

Cheers,

Ronald

That is one ch*rpin' awesomefully steakish ottificationizing ggh! Found a bunch of otters, some very well hidden! Haven't found myself yet, or BlitzGirl, but I know it's like Prego. 'twill take some more molpyhunting.

rvloon - sorry about all your steambottle. How did you get the Dutch military to help you move house? That would never happen (willingly!) here. Please give your girlfriend the following chant from my father:

"Sana te, sana, colita de rana. Si no sana hoy, te sana mañana." He used to say that to me any time I got sick. "Be healed, be healed, tail of a frog. If you're not healed today, you'll be healed tomorrow." It must have worked; I'm still here.

SilentTimemr, here is where I had gotten confused a bit in the story. I wasn't quite clear on Cueball's role in the flight of the beanie; I assumed the beanie fell when he tried to keep Cueball from entering the dangerous cave. It's a good thing the other beanie did not think Cueball pushed him. The story would have gone in a totally different direction!

For decree, thank you davean for all you do on the forum. And I'm not obfuscating your name, because I want you to know how much we all appreciate you. You've helped this place become a home.

And yay! Another bOTTeriada story!

More I wanted to reply to, but it will have to annoy TheMinim.

That's a pretty bridge. I think the germanium diodes were put there just for you. That's why you noticed them

bOTTeriada goes ONG

Postby balthasar_s » Thu Mar 12, 2015 5:11 am UTC

the mrONGbdex story continues.

Code: Select all

needed sandpaper, three matched silicon-carbide diodes, a rotary ratchlezor, blue ink (##0057af), and a single ##7 lock washer, all of which the bot provided on the spot. In the evening Balthacarius draped a cover over his work, made dinner, then sat down next to the bot and said:
"Now let's see what you can really do. You say you can grant my *every* wish . . . ?"
"Well, mostly." the modest bot replied. "The bits I supplied today were up to your standards, I hope?"
"Oh yes, quite satisfactory," replied Balthacarius. "But I have something in mind that goes a bit past number 7 lock-washers. If you cannot grant this wish, I'll send you back to your maker with gratitude and a professional critique."
"All right," the bot replied a bit hesitantly, "what is this wish?"
"I want a *Mrorl*," said Balthacarius. "I want a full-size, fully-functional Mrorl, rendered down to the finest precision, such that a reasonable observer could not distinguish it from the original Mrorl -- within the limits allowed by quantum mechanics, of course."
The Bot to Grant One's Every Wish wiggled nervously, muttered and beeped a bit, and then finally replied:
"All right, I can make you a Mrorl. But please treat him with care -- he is, after all, a truly Magnificant bOTTifactor."
"Oh, but of course! You needn't worry about that," said Balthacarius. After a brief pause he added, "... so, uh, where *is* it?"
"What, you mean right now?" the addled bot replied. "This isn't just another ##bb6622 marker, you know. Granting a wish of such intricacy takes Time."
But in fact it wasn't too long before the machine whirred, a large panel in its front slid open, and a full-sized, fully functional Mrorl climbed out. Balthacarius looked it up and down, circled it once or twice, examined its rivets closely, posed a few basic arithmetical and philosophical queries, and eventually had no doubt: this was a Mrorl as much like the original as two ^{28}Si atoms in a sandcastle. This Mrorl seemed to be a bit unsteady on its legs but otherwise behaved in a perfectly Mrorlish fashion.

...cautiously poking an eyestalk out of the cupboard door...

Ooh, look at what ggh made! :D Hey that's me, right there on the beach. quay. stone structure by the inlet! Aww.

I've been missing my Otter friends so much, while life and mustard and life-mustard and neuroses have been keeping me away. But then I found this astronomical awesomeness that I had to make sure you knew about, and super-Pi day is just around the corner and I've got to be with you for that, and I've just been presented with a new grandchild (there are 5 now!), and my longing for your company overcame my neuroses and here I am for a moment at least.

I'll be around, at least until the next major mustard event ;)

Cheers,

Ronald

*hugs*

@ggh's OTTerSearch is of course, seaishly molpyriffic. And molpily seaish.

I'll just point out the rather Cueish-seaishq fact that in @StormAngel's various Spoiler:'d images full of spoilery-spoiling-spoilishness, some of the OTTers and other things that are revealed in earlier versions of the spoilers are no longer revealed in the later versions (including my own avatar, which is how I noticed this). There are at least 3 or 4 other things that were similarly un-revealed. (So, in addition to being earlier, the earlier spoilers are spoilerier.)
So if you are using the spoilers to help double-check whether you have found everything, you need to double-check with at least two versions of the spoilers.

That is all.

mrob27 Image

P.S. What was done with @Helper was particularly molpish

q meaning: the spoilers are big, and I don't understand what the spoilers are doing.

I'd advise caution. If there was a nearby flowerpot, there's a good chance they are geranium diodes.
