Anyone else having the problem?? I've just tried with an old chrome and FF, it loads all right (well, some fonts look strange, but that's not unusual for different navigators).

Edit: wow, pope! Cake for everyone!!

Opera 12.15 and Explorer 10.0.9200.16576 works fine here.

However, in Opera Dragonfly reports an error on line 289 of 02_link_modifier.js (

Code: Select all

if (href && (href.search(/^https?:\/\/([\w\-]+\.)?savefrom\.net\//i) == -1)) {
) The error message is Unhandled Error: 'href.search' is not a function

I did find a bug though (Opera 12.15 still):
When mousing over the elevation map the cursor (gray line) appears too low. See the image (the mouse cursor isn't visible, but it's at the very bottom of the elevation map):

As a result, when the mouse gets to the top of the elevation map, it looks like this:

In both Gaiman's American Gods and Pratchett's Small Gods, a religion would disappear when there were no more adherents. So what happens if none of us is watching in the OTT? kenmelken saved us over the last half dozen np. Good job. Popishness is his reward, of course.

I hope it still counts to come back and ketchup when coma or outside drags us away. The OTT doesn't disappear until no one is coming back. Of course, the first part of not coming back is going away. We do seem to have lost some of the faithful along the way.

Wait well, my friends.

Just posting because I haven't chimed (GONGED ?) in on anything in a while. So...

Obligatory silly stuff: Enough of the pixelchirpys. I want some potato chi[r]ps.

Obligatory outside stuff: Tuuuuuuuka! Double Over-[outside]Time win!

BTW, did I miss anyone recommending The Lathe of Heaven? I always liked that and the Hainish series.

And, finally, I've been trying to get a (actual, 3D outside world) Tibetian-style knit cap w/ Feynman diagrams as the design feature. Any stitch&bitchers out there wanna have a go?

Are there genuinely less Waiters now than ever? I kind of doubt its a serious problem. It is the end of the school year, so that accounts for some of us.
If there's ever a serious decline, some of us may have to become missionaries to other, godless websites. :P

If the post volume drops, I may be able to read it all before having to go to [heresy]work[/heresy] in the [heresy]Outside[/heresy]. As it is, I have about half a newpix every morning for ketchup. I hated ketchup before I discovered the OTT, now I hate it even more. Every mini-blitz, lately, I've been frustrated that I cannot get through the 12 to fifteen NPs.
I have been Waiting since the first trebuchet shots, and I have lernt much. This I know for sure: While I may Wait for it, Time does not Wait for me.

Still posting from the receding past, newpage 767, to say I'm back from my mountain. Which is small, yet very big, and definitely knows what it's doing. It was once one of the highest mountains on earth, but that was two billion years ago. Some mountains you climb their faces; I climb my mountain's bones, exposed by the miles-high glaciers that have ground over it.

My molpyschauzers are still, as I write this the morning after, in a post-exertion flooped state. They're well acquainted with rough trails but this was their first real mountain. They're now officially small dogs molpies with altitude. There will be t-shirts.

As I look forward to a ketchup blitz, I'm more convinced than ever that the scale of horizontal and vertical distances we see in the OTC is abstracted, representing many times what we literally see. Yesterday at our much slower than average pace, in four hours we climbed half a vertical mile (and four miles horizontal), many times the literal distances shown in the OTC so far in their entirety.

Greetings and best wishes to everyone!
If you're lost you can look--and you will find me

Wait well, my friends.

Having gone away (and come back), I have to say life is very different without the OTT. It can be ... forgotten ... if you're heretical enough. But I'm seeing this through to the end!

Also exams and holidays and various outsider things are starting to happen.

I have to say though, the thought of a 120+ page ketchup is a little daunting. I think I'll skip to the present and work on a little side project instead...

Oh, [omitted for some purpose or other]. I had the phrase "All four corners of the Earth" all nicely lined out 'cause I've heard it somewhere, then I had to think that it would have to be 3d, and so, cube came out. I wish I did. I only even got to play Portal because my sister had it and she allowed me to play it on her laptop sometimes. I never managed to beat GLaDOS but that's more likely due to my co-ordination being carp and not being speedy either. But I know what happens anyway so I don't particularly care.

And on exams - as of 10:30, I have only one left. We'll be getting started with work for next year on Monday, also my last exam and the day after my birthday. I've had a fair bit of free time the last couple of weeks due to coughing to death, half term, and this week basically being study leave. And the last exam is also the one I beat everyone else in (in a class of awesomely clever and nerdy people - but don't ever tell them I called them nerdy) for a mock, so should be good. :D

Oh, Portal 2. I used to. Well, technically I still do, but alas! I can no longer engage in such entertainments. For the one machine that could run it is out of commission, and I have yet to replace it. I probably shan't, for I wait (as I wait for the OTC) for HL3. For then I shall purchase a machine to run HL3 in all its glory. I see no point in buying something now only to have to upgrade it later - I cant wait for it.

Taking a swim? It looks like a brook/creek/(crock/brick(my vocabulary fails me)) with some water plants next to it. Possible two streams of water. Quite shallow, but perhaps deeper outside the slice we see.

Hopefully this is my second-to-last signpost.

Spoiler:
The new molpy was spotted:

Given a tentative name:

Ahhh, thanks. Having that hanging was worse than an open paren.

So, what revealing thing is Megan going to mutter in her sleep when the compyraptormole (velocicompymole?) starts nibbling on her toes?

And finally, "molpy" was settled on (if only to fit a haiku?):

Oh hey, I guess y'all finally made me Mome (FANP).

Baby, baby, baby. Not "chick," not "baby bird," not even "little molpy." Baby.

The implications are clear.

For a second millinewpix... I thought you were trying to quote Justin Bieber...

and now I have "molpy, molpy, molpy" going through my head to the tune of "Baby, baby, baby"

If there were some reason to do it, if, say, reading the OTT saved lives, fed the hungry, sheltered the homeless, I absolutely would tire of it and drop it. But simply because there is no point at all in continuing, I can't seem to make myself stop. Oh, what shall I do? (anguished cry)

Or could she be laying behind it? Unconscious or waiting to yell "boo!" or some punchline?

Oh, the excitement, but it's after 2am and I gotta coma; I guess I'll have to coma in suspense.

Guess who this is for:
"The Ace of Pentacles is the foundation for all kinds of projects in the real world; this foundaton is as valuable as gold, and as solid as concrete. ... The Ace also represents the fertile soil in which ideas can be planted to grow and mature."
Ooh - and here's a line in the description that caught my eye: "In particular, the card often refers to wedding rings and proposals of marriage, which may seem out of place in the Pentacles suit until you realize that such proposals are the solid foundation upon which the castles of love must be built." Castles of Love... ahh....
