If you're talking about the GONG, it measures TimeFrames not Newpix

Se the beginning of the newpix epoch was midnight (eastern standard time) Monday morning?

Cueball and Megan aren't known for their haste. It took Cueball two hours to stand up and turn around earlier.

Yeah - It helps the discussion. We're not posting the updating gifs or the links to the tools or anything. There's a wiki for all that.

I hope so, I can't be bothered to switch to the actual comic page anymore... I get updates faster by F5'ing this page than by switching tabs.

Can I suggest a change to the wording? Please make it "I'm waiting for it" (And of course, no end date.)

I feel like if there's going to be merch for this wonderful productivity killer, the image doesn't work too well on a shirt. Maybe magnets, or posters?

T-shirts with an inlaid flexible e-ink display, showing the whole thing over and over and over?

Only if it moves as slowly as this comic! You'd have to wear the same shirt for days! Fun!

Wow! This would be brilliant! Now imagine the expression on someone's face who saw you at the beginning of the day, when they saw a slightly different picture at the end of the day, with no obvious movement??

It would have a shirtload of images...

On the other hand, after 3 days of almost constant attention, it was nice to unplug for a little and come back to find not one new frame but a whole second castle, and Megan and Cueball going for a swim.

...

Aaand I'm back to the constant attention. Damn.

I don't know if it constitutes sacrilege, but might I suggest a modified Creed (for those that are still considering the religion):
All hail the magnificient Lord Randall
The Author of the One True Comic
The Illustrator of Sandcastles
The Keeper of the Newpix
The Creator of this Time
We have seen the Castles
We reject the Outside
We refuse to Sleep
We watch over Time
We wait for It

I propose this change because the whole creed now has a pattern of slowly decreasing line length. It also has a nice ring to it.

We will never know. As I have asserted before, it is my belief that Randall has created an automated AI based animation (see proof link a few pages back) that has the potential to consume vast reserves of our time. The real joke/message here is that the time he invested in creating it is insignificant compared to the productivity time that is and will continue to destroyed. Our only hope is that he will reveal this to us, maybe on April 1st and we will be at least somewhat free from it's spell and able to get on with our lives again.

Add me to the list of long-time readers who finally created an account here just to comment on this. (Although I had to wait because IT WAS ABOUT TO UPDATE!!!)

The thing that really strikes me is how often we say we don't have time for things. I'm especially bad about this. As a business owner (small web development company), work tends to take over my life. I often make plans, only to break them deciding that I just "don't have time." We recently migrated all of our hosting clients to a new server which was pretty much two weeks of me barely sleeping, forgetting to eat, doing pretty much nothing but work. Once that was finally over, I decided I was officially taking Monday and Tuesday completely off. Zero work. Even zero Skyrim, my most recent non-work hobby, since I've gotten into writing mods and that often feels more like work than play...

And I woke up Monday to this. And it was beautiful. Discovering it on the morning of my first day in ages where I was determined to do absolutely nothing but relax almost felt like a sign from the universe. And the forums have provided no end of amusement.

Now it's Thursday. (Um, I think. I lose track of such things sometimes.) And I have been working. But still following the forums, still watching the comic. Work constantly makes me feel like I never have Time for anything fun, yet I found Time for this. As have so many others. I feel like there's something profound I want to say, but I can't seem to find the words, and honestly the above was already way too serious for my taste.

BTW, I'm female, I'm from the south (America - the American south, not South America), and while I do agree we need some kind of gender-neutral way to refer to people, the use of y'all is making me cringe beyond belief. I feel like I should apologize on behalf of southerners everywhere if that escapes too far into common usage. I think I'd be equally amused and horrified to hear that said with a non-American accent of any kind.
