Spoiler:
I think it could still use some improvement, but I'm going to put it on the Wiki so we can sig it, even while we improve it. I'm just going to put it in at the very top, until someone suggests a better place.

How to Time.
Perhaps the first question is why does that even need an explanation. The thread discussing the comic is long and fast, and it's easy to be intimidated when faced with joining an ongoing conversation, but if all you do is look at the comic itself, you are likely going to miss some of the experience.

There are many ways to properly enjoy Time. The best way is the one that suits you best. This can change. Do not feel you must enjoy Time the way anyone else does if that way does not suit you. Do not feel you must continue enjoying it the same way if it stops suiting you. Some options include:
1. Reading it all from beginning to end.
2. Jumping in where you find it, and continuing.
3. Skimming and skipping as you see fit.
4. Reading the latest page or so each time you come.
5. Ignoring the thread completely and using one of the tools to keep track of the comic.
6. Some combination of the above, or some other way not listed.

Posting can be done as you see fit. As you go, or in large chunks, frequently or rarely. The forum does officially discourage double-posting, but in the thread we don't care a lot about that, except that if you post the new picture it should be done in a new post.
Our only other hard and fast rule is that overly flashy things need to be spoilered, as they can be dangerous.

We're a friendly bunch. We've made up some weird terms, we've got some weird traditions. Don't worry if you can't figure them out. Neither can we. Play along if you want, don't if you don't want. Ask if you want to know something. (Doesn't even have to be time related, we've got lots of other answers here too.)

This is a unique experience. It may suit you. Hopefully it will. The forum members welcome new posters, and would like to hear your input. The forum is made up of a variety of different people from a wide range of backgrounds. It is an interesting group to hang out with. If this interests you at all, know that you would be welcomed. Just jump right in.

There are answers to more questions here on the wiki, but don't think you have to read the everything before you join in.

Welcome, and have fun.

I approve

I do realize I left out how to make sure you get the hash and all that. My thoughts are if we start getting into that we'll scare people off before they even get here. So, everyone, be nice if folks get it wrong. So did I at first, and at least once late, when the servers weren't cooperating. Since we can edit posts, and we have newpixbot, these are things we can deal with. (And, I remain a little sad that the competition to post it got so intense that we lost Professor Grumbles.)

I think the newpixbot should take over the job on the ONG rather than ten minutes later. Competition to post it? How absurd is that?

Looks like since frame 2351 some clouds (or something?) have been coming in from the top-right of the frame.

Here's the latest frame, photoshopped to enhance the pixel values range:-

Great catch, foilman. It's very subtle. At least for right now, anyway. Reminds me of how the Fading initially appeared.

I don't think this heralds a scene change like the Fading, since the background has shifted, and Cuegan has been traveling during its appearance.

My predict-o-meter is torn. On the one hand, I think "clouds" - because we have yet to see any weather in the OTC and that would make things pretty miserable for Cuegan. On the other hand, I think "smoke" - because it would really mustard up Cuegan's plans if the settlement on top of the mountain was on fire. Or, for a happier interpretation, the smoke could be from a fire the mountain-dwellers have lit to keep warm in the apparently colder temperatures.

Please note that I do not wish harder times on Cuegan - I'm simply afraid that's where we're headed. It might be like the Harry Potter series after the death of Cedric Flutterbee: just keeps getting darker and darker.

Not that I'd wish them any ill. Really. I think Meg is kinda hot, though. Hot stickfigure. Hot volcano. Hot food. It's all related.

The cloud looks blue-ish to me - my first thought was that we are about to experience a gradual transition into a glorious full-colour landscape (possibly still with superimposed stick figures, mscha-style). No access to GIMP to check right now, but going by the lack of similar hyperventilating excitement from others in the OTT, plus previously confirmed dodginess of the colour calibration of my screen, I'm guessing that's not going to happen...

Prediction: It's not a cloud, it's sunset. The next three monthsh will be night and the OTC will be almost completely black :P

hHeretical

I know this prediction doesn't make a lot of sense, several days have passed already in OTC Time and we haven't seen any darkness (yet). Still, I prefer this to a scenario of impending doom.

[edit]
Prediction ninja'd by libra (even though there's five minutes between our posts, I was looking up some stuff while typing it).

I don't remember what the Pern dragons ate. Besides firerocks or whatever those were.

Well, duh, they ate Purina Dragon Chow!

BTW, now that we've got a few thousand NewpIx hashes to work with, how's about some black-hatter (IRL, not your avatar) do some cracking to find the hidden trove of as-yet-unrevealed pix?

Even if the hash was based on public information123 and was cracked1 whether auto-generated or hand drawn, I doubt the images exist on the server more than a few newpix ahead.

1Really really really really really really really really unlikely.
2Not private, like the contents of the new image or free disk-space on some drive on GLR's network.
3Required for us to crack the hash.
