It's taken over a TimeFrame to cross the picture. This means either
  • They built REALLY fast
  • We're looking at this on entirely the wrong scale
  • SWUh was right about the timing not being constant

Well I don't think it's a projectile aimed at the castle. If it is it's awfully small and has no parabolic arc. I think it's still in the distance moving left to right.

Does Megan have flying super powers? It wouldn't be Cory Doctorow, would it?

This whole thread seems to have something of Douglas Adams about it. With just a pinch of Terry Pratchett for seasoning, perhaps.

Yes, it reminds of this:
Terry Prattchett wrote:Wobbler had written an actual computer game like this once. It was called "Journey to Alpha Centauri". It was a screen with some dots on it. Because, he said, it happened in real time, which no-one had ever heard of until computers. He'd seen on TV that it took three thousand years to get to Alpha Centauri. He had written it so that if anyone kept their computer on for three thousand years, they'd be rewarded by a little dot appearing in the middle of the screen, and then a message saying, "Welcome to Alpha Centauri. Now go home."
-- (Terry Pratchett, Only You Can Save Mankind)

PS: this thread is becoming the Sand Tower of Babylon.

I reckon you've earned the position of Cardinal.

Wikipedia lists Cardinal as an "ecclesiastical prince" of the Church.
I accept.

Long time lurker, mainly register-did to share my epiphany (Apologies if someone ninjaphany-did me in the previous 130+ pages):

I propose that the official Bard of the Time-Waiters be Tom Waits (ahem...get it? ) and the official hymn -certainly someone proposed before me- his opus "time" :
And it's time time time
And it is time
And it's time
And it's time time
That you love
And it's time time time

For those that have not already you should check the rest of the lyrics. I promise it be worth it...

I suggested that fourty or so pages ago. You'd have to modify the lyrics to make most of it relevant to anything. "Things are pretty lousy for a stick figure girl..." or something.

If one were to lay siege to the place, the logical first target for your trebuchets would be the citadel, since a few well placed shots may take out part of the garrison.

This in no way reflects that I have placed far too much Warcraft 2 or TWM2 in the past.

Okay, I come back after another 30 or so newpix, and discover that somewhere along the line, people have invented some sort of 1981-esque newspeak, and am mystified, confused, shocked, appalled, and somewhat intrigued by the evolution of the new "time" society.

Then I find out the reckoning is happening, and am just dissapointed.

Until I realize with this thread, now that it has been suggested, We probably will create a new language that makes no sense to the uninitiated, thus ins ome ways making the reckoning irrelevant.

I'm not sure whether to be proud of my part in this, or deeply, deeply disturbed.
