I couldn't see the otter video, k.bookbinder, but I hope all otters were saved. Here's a cake for you and lmjb1964 to help you get over the ch*rping OutsideH:

I noticed that a while back :) I keep waiting to hear about some sort of northwest XKCD meetup. Still have yet to do any geohashing up here though, so cannot complain too much.

We'll have to see. :) I think I know of four OTTers now in the Seattle area, so even if there isn't a general xkcd meetup, we might be able to arrange a smaller Time-related gathering sometime.

Postby lmjb1964 » Thu Oct 10, 2013 11:09 pm UTC

So, during lunch I realized I could do some weights and read the OTT. So I did. I read NP 1519 (and also 1520) and it was so wowterful it cheered me right up. There were:

Ottifications from DrSamCarter, taixzo, BlitzGIrl, Eternal Density, ergman, yap, jovialbard, ugh (a short but sweet one!), Valarya (I loved that song as a kid too), TheMinim, Red Hal, Jose--did I miss anyone?

A treeish post from DrSamCarter

An awesomeful OTTercomic by BlitzGirl

It was nice to see Febrion.

I want to see the boost description that blew BlitzGirl's mind, but she's, like, a million miles ahead of me on SB.

mrob had another great post, and I felt so honored when xe referred to a pastpost of mine. Squee!

Zooman and, um, some others liked my leaked RAZOR document.

StormAngel wrote:Preview edit:

Well, you have to ask one of the redundazebras, "Are you redundant?" You can only ask one, and one of them always lies and the other always tells the truth. :)

Well, this is weird. The multiquote script saved my responses, but not the posts they were responding to. This was to azule's comment that he hadn't heard from CD about his (CD's) study:
Ditto. Or did you already get enough victims subjects?

This was to Val's saying that she read one of ED's OTTish post as normal, and she loves us xuys:
heehee. Love you too!

And this day is almost over. Now I get to go and help my friend clean out his rat-infested motor home. Yippee.

Thanks for being a bright spot in a gloomy day! MWAH!!

Anyone with steam, I highly recommend you go download the Stanley Parable Demo right now. It's absolutely chirpin' hilarious and plays tremendously on your expectations. Then go buy the game when it comes out in a week, because it will be about 3 hours of that. :D

And Yappo, I found this while looking around at mountain biking videos. If that's where you live, I can see why you'd enjoy the outdoors. Beautiful country and it looks like there's no shortage of good trails.

Postby Eternal Density » Fri Oct 11, 2013 12:12 am UTC

I uninstalled Steam many mips ago, to stop myself from a) buying games I'll never actually install b) buying games I'll play once or twice then forget about c) buying games that I'll waste many nopix playing and d) wasting many nopix playing games I already have.

On that note,

Code: Select all

### 1.86
- Changed the build/destroy notify threshhold to 1 in ten million
- Class Chiller number formatting
- Logicat is not a Technicolour Dream Cat
- New Second Chance boost
- Moved Caged Logicat purchase to Rosetta
- Rosetta now doesn't show as action (yellow) if you don't have doublepost or factory automation
- Number of correct Logicat answers required displayed was 5 higher than real value

ETA yay 6 and 7 are the only glass ceilings i need now

I think our ability to speak so effectively on this forum is in part due to its being in a written format where we won't have to worry about what the absolute first reaction to our words will be, and also because when we reply we're usually quoting (and responding to) one post at a time. It takes the form of dozens of individual conversations happening at once, but each of us can participate in any and/or all of them.

That's a fair choice. Though I'd say the Stanley parable is worth the nopix investment.

Oh, also a request: Can you make the game save which things (badges, boosts, etc) I have shown? It's annoying when I'm looking for something and I realize it got hidden last time the game loaded.

Oh! You were at the Oregon coast? Which part?

Depoe Bay, with a bit of scuttling between Lincoln City and Newport. :)

hmm. we might want to cool the leakage. I notice no-one else posted in that thread since we started filling it with our time-lingo. As wonderful as we are, we shouldn't bother everyone else on the forum when we're out and about there.
edit: of course, maybe its just cause we're the only ones online
I made my avatar, Buffygirl hatted it, Yappo smileyed it and ggh taroted it!
I've changed, witnessing this thing so beautiful

Good luck on blitzing, katakissa, username5243, musthavebeenmykarma, iskinner, thunk, GnomeAnne, and quantized ! Keep the signposts coming, we love em in the now!

It did seem a little like those of us involved were hijacking the thread (in a nice way :P ). We need to remember to tone it down a bit when in slower threads (also there's such a thing as "on topic" outside of our little enclave).

To be fair, the first half of that page was people talking about titles, which wasn't "on topic" either.
