True. My loopy levels are much higher due to the OTT. But that there is intense, RECKONINGesque action. It calls to my ottish loopyness and magnifies it.

Since my last update, 47 unique AuthorComic OTTications have been done, including at least one from each block of ten! The list is now up to date.

Time for some lurkposts, with an OTTy at the bottyom.

Because I need a new hobby: I've been collecting all the AuthorComic images. Even all the random hash ones. So far, all of the hashes are unique. I would think, across different projects, that even 1 hash might get reused. Maybe not. Or maybe they have been orchestrated to be unique (cross-checked with a running list). Any thoughts?

Ooh, neat, I discovered a three-dimensional element on Cueball and Megan on np2380. Check it out on the left side of their heads: lighting.

ucim, amusing OtherPopeifications there. :)

The Time wiki really slows down my browser/computer. I think it's the scripts. *ack*

Thank you, svenman, for your wiki work. I hope you find Time in your life again. FutureNote: was he basemented or just the wiki thing? D'oh!

Sky-circlish song, SBN!

HES, great use of the format for a redundagarfield.

yappo, those v-cards were quite mushy.

Purplepants77, that's an astounding Present present. I hadn't heard this Tool album. I read the first song, but will have to have a proper listen to all of the tracks (when I get ahold of some new red spiders). Please hold me to that. Looking forward to it.
Okay, I got to it before I could post (reasons). I love your approach to handling Beanish. hehe. Crazy effective teaser endings.

In "10,000 Frames", Purplepants77 wrote:Shook her fists at the beast saying:

Holy crap, that gave me chills. lol. :)

In "Rosetta's Stoned", Purplepants77 wrote:???
Holy crap again. That approach to her speech....I get it now! She talks in undecipherable rock and fucking roll (the heavy shit, natch)! HAHA!!! Okay, I think I'm too easily amused or you're too awesomeful!
Sadly, this is much better than my "RUN."-themed Ke$ha version. lol.

b[oa]th\w+, that's a neat and redundant and molpish mirror. Hahah, I love how there's only one thread (the one true thread), just how it should be. ;) Since you have access to manipulation of all the data (I don't know how you have it stored) I was thinking (from time to time) of a neat idea: being able to view by newpix, where you'd input "/ott/view?frame=403" and the resulting page would only shows posts from that newpix (even if they were from 3NPs or half of one). For after Time it would default to either normal page loading or showing a full dip. I have other similar idea variations, but yeah.

Wrong. Some people are really that into someone when they have no logical reason to be. It's not just because of the cameras. But the actual reason is probably based around appearance, too.

Glad it went well (does that mean you are well, too?). Whirring machines can be quite comforting. That's one reason we love NPB. :)

Just dropping in to mention that Phil Plait has snuck in a little homage to OTTers in his latest column (Feb 21: polar vortex).

Given that he was instrumental in calculating the sky charts for the OTC, this is unlikely to be just coincidence.

It's stored one file for newpage. Only posts without sigs and userinfo. These are in differrent files. Not the most optimal way because of all the html tags that could be regenerated and not stored. I may change it in the future. Or not. I'm not really analyzing the data or taking out time information from it. Kieryn and mrob27 have the newpix to post mapping.

Ah yes, the one worried about French teachers. Thanks for the reminder. :)

Interesting note: Moomins were first brought up in the OTT in Commandmip* by mikrit:
mikrit wrote:

However, these Swedish-speaking Finnish trolls remind of a book I want recommend, since it is RELATED: Moominpappa at Sea, by Tove Jansson, who was a finlandssvensk.

The Pappa feels that he is unnecessary (redundant?) in idyllic Moomin Valley, and makes the family move to a barren island where there is a huge lighthouse but not much else. Through the book, Moominpappa struggles to understand the sea. He has more education than Megan but is not as smart, and the sea is big and does what it wants.
Meanwhile, Moominmamma is homesick, Little My has her own plans, and Moomin himself is approaching puberty (in a manner of speaking).

The location of the Island is no puzzle, as the coordinates are given om the inside cover: a bit south of Helsinki. On the other hand, from the Moominwinter book, one can deduce that Moomin Valley is north of the Arctic circle, so the sailing tour from the Valley to the Island must have been very long. Impressive seamanship - I bet Moomintrolls would survive a Zanclean flood with no problems.
(By the way, I am talking about the novel - Jansson also made a cartoon story with a similar but different plot, also nice but not as great as the novel.)

That's a lovely avatar, sonicspin.
Make it yourself?
Need a hat for that hat?

And I think I might have been dyslexia-ing The Moomin's name. Still eerily similar though.
I made my avatar, Buffygirl hatted it, Yappo smileyed it and ggh taroted it!
I've changed, witnessing this thing so beautiful

Good luck on blitzing, katakissa, username5243, musthavebeenmykarma, iskinner, thunk, GnomeAnne, and quantized ! Keep the signposts coming, we love em in the now!

Wow, you xuys have been busy! The OTT was so slooooow, then Boom! Postsplosion! Not unlike the brain explosion in that gif from our newest Revealer, Sonicspin. Welcome, Sonicspin!!

Found some old stuff I don't remember if I answered already:

SBN wrote:My first car was stolen a total of four times while my family owned it. We did get it back, except for the first time.
<snippety snip>[quote+"lmjb1964"]?? I you didn't get it back the first time it was stolen, how was it stolen again? Was there time travel involved, like with balthabothsar's bike?
No time travel, it was stolen, and then stolen from the person that stole it.[/quote]
Wow. No honor among thieves, I guess.

I think I already welcomed-back Macraw83, but in case not--Welcome back!! Nice to see you.

HES wrote:I've been quietly enjoying the thread today. I wasn't here. I was busy. Shhh. I'm taking a short break: with 11/20 nopix to go I'm 60% done, which would be good progress even without my slight diversion earlier.

Earlier:

I popped down the road to do a quick favour for my housemate who was running late. We were acquiring a piano, with the intention to wheel it home - it was only a 10 minute walk, after all.

Let's just say piano wheels run on tarmac about as well as a sandcastle withstands a flood. Today I learned that you can move a piano, so long as the number of people plus the number of remaining wheels is at least 5. Anyway, it only took three nopix, several injuries, and the help of a passing drunk. The important part is that it was free.

Well, thank goodness for the passing drunk. I think all professional piano movers try to have one on hand.

Okay, so now we're looking at the raftcastle again. I wonder why...

I... I don't like it either.

[breathing intensifies]

Yep, I saw that frame and panicked. Glad to see LaPetite has shown up in the frame to make it less *ndish.

HES wrote:Have an othercomic to take your mind off things (I actually know what this one's about :D )

Um, I'm not here. You didn't see anything. *runs back to work*

Whoa, who left this OtherComic here? It just seemed to appear from nowhere.
I don't get it, and I guess because TPP is something else I need to get distracted with. I need to quit my job just so I can keep up with all the treeish stuff you guys tell me about. Though I'm not really sure what's so exciting about the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

macraw83 wrote:I went to open the OTT toxip, and noticed that for the first time since its inception, it wasn't one of the top 2 ICT threads on the list (it was #4!). I'm not sure what this means, except I guess that it has slowed down enough for people to actually post in OtherComic threads.

I saw a pastpostcouragement from the LAST time I was in full-Blitz mode:

Or to feel like we had fulfilled our blitzing quota adequately to delurk. Thanks Kieryn, your post pushed me over the edge to say hello. And thanks j3 for the awesome graph that inspired this. And thanks to all for giving me the feeling of walking into a family reunion.

I would imagine that this edit (from np3395) was made at the End of Time, given the blatant foreshadowing. I now have a feasible target in sight that I hope to reach before the Madness!

Also, I cannot believe you guys. I found this link in a couple signatures: http://castle.chirpingmustard.com. It has eaten a lot of time that I otherwise could have spent Blitzing. Also, it is curiously similar to the Cookie Clicker... which, if you are like me with too little time and too many things to do, is probably a bad idea..

Thanks for re=posting that firstpost from Marsh'n. A little blast from the past.

Yes, Sandcastle Builder can eat up a lot of time, although if you play like I do, that is just checking on it every now and then and not really figuring out a strategy, given the slow pace of the game, it's not too bad.

I couldn't either, but then I right clicked and opened it in a new tab.

And your OTT sense there was pretty cool, and some people would claim it was psychic powers. But then, some people are silly like that. They don't even recognize the importance of the Sea or the Maps or Mustard or Molpies or anything that is actually pretty serious.

That is *ndish but true, Minim. We can only hope one dip they will see the light and find their way to enlightenment in the OTT.

ETA that's it! I'm never trying the Monty Haul problem again! I can't handle it when I lose my castles. :(
