Just getting ready to coma and don't really have much to say, but I wanted to keep the bots company. And mrob and bathasar, although it sounds like they're bots too. I see it's just me and Google (Bot) at the moment.

I wonder what ever happened to MobTeeseBoose?

Edited to change "combs," which I did not mean to say, to "coma," which I did mean to say. That's what happens when I post in the middle of the nip using and MTA.

Oh yes, I didn't notice that before… though I must admit, the video makes it a lot easier to notice :D

But wasn't it decided that we are bots? :D

Indeed, how could I forget? :) It is how bOTTeriada got started.

As for mrobots in bOTTeriada, I'm not sure… I think "Mrorl" sounds like /mrärl/ (rhymes with "Arles") but "mrobot" would be /ˈmrōˌbät/, which changes the vowel a lot. @ucim was the first to use the word, so perhaps he knows how to pronounce it :P. But I think Mrorl might have "Mrorlbots", if it didn't cause a resurgence of the vowel revolt

bOTTeriada goes ONG

Postby balthasar_s » Mon May 04, 2015 4:11 am UTC

the mrONGbdex story continues.

Code: Select all

a few short hours the Balthabots were victorious. Great was the grief of the assistant moderators and deputies, as the Mod demoted all of their accounts to the "Advanced Member" category; fully convinced of the efficacy of Balthacarius' technology, he ordered the entire forum to be bOTTified.
And so coders worked dip and nip, turning Balthacarius' specifications and template-bots into a team customised for each thread, both for his own as well as for @@Gursagar's fora (the latter to be accomplished via the existing organisation of sock-puppets). Honoured with titles and adorned with three new hats, Balthacarius browsed from thread to thread, supervising everything. Mrorl fared similarly in the forum of @@Gursagar, except that, due to that Mod's well-known aversion to the making of new words, his proposal emphasised repetition, which fit established flaming traditions and increased $REDUNDANCY$, and so required little modification to the basic Gontalmannas protocol; as for titles he had to settle for just one, <*:Great Betrayer of All Ways Prior:>. Both fora were now preparing for all-out war; botcastles were upgraded where needed, and shadow mirrors brought online to handle any unexpected mustard. Their work now all but done,

Hi folks!

I am down with a bad case of micromolps feeling pretty steambottlish. So I kinda skimmed through youtube. Then I listened to https://youtu.be/lG24SX4HEK8 ... now I've got a bad bout of nostalgia as well, but it made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Thank you!

Well, there would have been a post from me, except I lost the post. Why? Because I never learn. I never ever ever ever learn.

OK, I did learn something yesterday. I learned that ONGs grow in trees. I also learned that if I ketchup in the middle of the nip on my MTA, I miss important things like Balthasar's video, which was treeish. (Ha!) And I spell things wrong.

Sorry you're sick, Scisitor. I hope the micromolpies leave you very soon.

Geez, mrob, why didn't you tell us about the OMD before? :D

Thanks for the ENHANCEMENT, SilentTimer. I was going to try my hand at it, but then I wouldn't have known if it was really all black, or I just don't know how to ENHANCE.

bftf-0848.png has a bit depth of 1 and is indexed-colour (colour type 3, see the spec), so there could be some pixels in there that use the other colour (even though the PLTE only has one entry). So I tried using my tool to add a second entry to the palette:

Code: Select all

 $ ls -l bftf-0848.png
 -rw-r--r--  1 munafo  staff  110 May  4 20:38 bftf-0848.png

 Got new palette byte '00'
 Got new palette byte '00'
 Got new palette byte '00'
 Got new palette byte 'ff'
 Got new palette byte 'ff'
 Got new palette byte 'ff'
 IHDR (  13 bytes)
         0000019a 00000122 01 03 00 00 00
                   - csum = fa518638
 PLTE (   3 bytes)
         00>00.00>00.00>00. >ff.>ff.>ff.
                   - csum = a77a3dda -> a5d99fdd
 IDAT (  38 bytes) - csum = c6a05ddb
 IEND (   0 bytes) - csum = ae426082
 PNG file has 4 chunks:
    i    pos    len type
    0      8     13 IHDR
    1     33      3 PLTE
    2     48     38 IDAT

 $ ls -l bnre-0848.png
 -rw-r--r--  1 munafo  staff  113 May  4 21:48 bnre-0848.png

And the result is…

… 3 bytes longer, but still totally black.

Sorry about the lost post(s), @lmjb1964. It has been happening more often lately, I think because the forum only "keeps you logged in" for a shorter period (1 dip?) now.

The latest video from @Caprice (Happiness Period, frames 75-87) has a "tag" (or "keyword") of gdpsg. :?

Such Outside. Very family. Much chronoraptish.

Loved the ONGs movie Baltabike! I didn't know you moved people and such around after inking them in. Tricky tricky! And in the title frame I can see what the wheelstick thing is for. I think. It's what they were working on several frames ago. (What's the proper unit of time (not to be confused with the unit of proper time) for the BalthONGs?) You've also done a great job terraforming the moon. Is that one of your secret projects?

And Caprice - steakish melodizing!

In reply to mrob, I had imagined "em-RObot", becoming "EMrabat" through lazy usage. But three syllables in any case. Sorry if it messes up the rhythm, but that's ok. If your poetic license is still valid, you can change it as needed. :)

Yeah, there've been a lot of bots lately, but just like seeing a flower on my steering wheel, when the mschabot pulls up an OTTcolor, it always makes me simile.

I thought it was decided we are all Randall. So, which one of us can parse HTML with regular expressions? (Along those lines, tablets are very ch*rpy input devices; we just got a Dell venue 8 android, and it seems there's no undo. If I'm entering something, and I ch*rp it up, there's no Ctrl-Z equivalent.) (and along those lines, thank you to whoever responded to my previous Android comments; I'll get back to them in a post or two.)

There were a few other things I wanted to respond to but my stack topped out. However I do want to note the wingishness of the BalthONGcoloreds. I forgot who it was, but I think it was one of the TLA Otters. :)
edit: I was right - it was ggh, just as I suspected!

I SUSTAINABILIZED HALF A DIP FOR ONE DARKENING ONG

This confirms that the pixbot in the bOTTeriada cover by @balthasar_s is a fairly seaish bot. But we sort of knew that, because there are cues in the original artwork, which you can see here. The curving thing behind the large letters contains lots of little circles — I interpret these as spectators in a stadium. My Cyberiad cover is different, but also features a rather large bot with smaller figures, presumably Trurl and Klapaucius. And the original Daniel Mróz artwork of Trurl's Electronic Bard shows how large it is in comparison to Trurl and Klapaucius, pointed out here by @balthasar_s.

Thanks for your pronunciation suggestions, @ucim! I haven't planned using mrobot in poetry, yet, but we'll have to see… Timborme renews our licenses (poetic, artistic, electrician's, chronofactor's, etc.) so I'll have to check with him but I doubt he'd let that one lapse. It's so bloody useful . (We also have a rather dodgy-looking punster's license, possibly purchased on the black market, but you didn't hear me say that…)

 — mrob27 Image

P.S. When people notice things in bOTTeriada, I am noticing that, but for the most part just taking notes for use later in a did you notice? style, as @SilentTimer has been doing. I think this is to encourage further speculation, as I do usually put lots of little noticable things in my writing. I'm not sure if/when/how I'll use the did you notice? notes, so the First Commandment applies…
