Why, I've even heard tell that Gnome Ann is an island!

I am confident that, by tomorrow, every WOW server/shard will have at least one character named "Gnomeann". Possibly several, with variations in spelling.

I was under the impression that Gnome Ann was the proprietor of "Gnome Ann's Land inn" in Silmaria ( Quest for glory 5: http://highfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Gnome_Ann_Agrama )

Yeah, this joke is as old as Odysseus. And yet, some nice interpretations of it. I love panel 3 where Gnome Ann is getting rid of the groom and approaching the bride... ;-D

(Mind you, isn't the pointy hat a little stereotyped for gnomes? I'm not convinced that's a very empowering depiction...)

That's not surprising, since Gnome Anne can be a lesbian.

Au contraire. If I'm not mistaken, Eddie Izzard has described himself as "a lesbian trapped in a man's body" [[citation needed]].

Edit: I wasn't mistaken.

I don't have a pun. Let me just state that right away.

The first panel, isn't it a little on the nose to put a clock on the beach? Hmm, she stopped time and tide... I wonder how that could be illustrated. I guess it is illustrated -- in a frozen moment. Clever. ;)

There once was an important job that Eve Rebudy thought Sam Buddy should do. Ann E. Won could have done it, but Gnome Ann wanted to do it. In the end Eve Rebudy blamed Sam Buddy for Gnome Ann having done what Ann E. Won could have done.

Shall we find some more literary quotes?

https://duckduckgo.com/?q=filetype%3Atxt+site%3Agutenberg.org+%22no+man%22&t=fpas&ia=web

Some good ones:

"Gnome Ann can endure watching and great thinking on an empty belly." -- Rudyard Kipling

"As I have already said, there is no Gnome Ann living who can fear death less than I do." -- Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

"Gnome Ann knows what a horse or a dog understands and feels..." -- Ian Maclaren

I never claimed that Gnome Ann is a self-identified lesbian.

On the other hand, it looks like something of an argument could be made that Eddie Izzard is Gnome Ann. Which would actually prove my point, thank you very much.

Edit: By the way, has anyone here ever been to Gnome Ann's land? It is often talked about, but by all accounts doesn't seem like a nice place to be.

It would be kind of funny to make a video in the style of a news report with several of these phrases that can mean several things and are spelled differently, and then subtitle it.

So, we just need to find a nun. And (politely) check whether she was a Caesarian birth.

I saw her in Omagh a few hours ago. While I'm not sure which direction she went, she can't have gone far, so I'm confident when I say that Gnome Anne is in Ireland.

I suspect that Gnome Ann is related to Minnie Moore, a musician whose songs appeared on every K-Tel record back in the '70s.

Knob Oddy's perfect. Knob Oddy has all the answers. Knob Oddy can satisfy everyone. Vote Knob Oddy in 2016!

(I admit that the UK is having a bit of a problem at the moment with Knob Oddy as PM. But on the other hand, Knob Oddy really has a plan to solve all the problems the UK is currently experiencing!)
