Title text: At first, I moved from pokémon posters to regular oil paintings, but then these really grumpy and unreasonable detectives from the Louvre showed up and took them all. They wouldn't even give me back my thumbtacks!

Happy Intersection Day!

While i never had pokemon posters, i can relate. I, too, got more careful and prudent in the placing and selection of wall-art. It hasn't quite advanced to oil paintings yet, though.

I wonder if there's a daVinci painting of a Julia set. Or a Picasso of an "inspirational cat".

(I'm too old to appreciate Pokemon art.)

Hey, I go for watercolors {you insensitive clod}

Also, happy Convenience Store Day. (USA only; Euro calendar order doesn't work)
Or maybe happy Craps Table Day.

Oh, hey, it's my nephew's birthday. (Well, not really nephew: my cousin's kid, not my sibling's.)

I 'hear' the title text as a much more Beret Guy kinda thing to say.

I'm not passionate enough about anything particular, so my walls have always been bare. Finding/making a decent desktop background is a tough enough job for me. I could paint "ceci n'est pas art mural" in giant letters across one of the walls, but then again, not painting anything on it may be the purest form of contrarian art.

It's come so soon!

He's your first cousin once removed.

He's your first cousin once removed.

If he gets removed twice more, then he'll be perma-banned from the family under the three strikes rule.

I hate installing wall art. The scientist in me wants to hang them all at adult eye-level in pretty much a straight line ... like arranging icons. The artist in me (who is severely underdeveloped) wants to scatter them in two dimensions but has no idea about what pattern looks good. Maybe I should just throw darts and use those holes for the hanging nails.

This comic is my wall, almost exactly. High-quality prints done by professional artists from works such as The Wheel of Time, Dark Souls, The Stormlight Archive, The Dresden Files, Alien, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Harry Potter...

Walls? Aren't those just things to fix bookshelves to?

Comic # == 2018
Year # == 2018
Comic # == Year #

For me the ultimate “wall art” would be a large leafcutter ant colony in a transparent setup. I could spend days watching them farm their fungus, judging by the few captive colonies I’ve observed.

It’d certainly be different. Sure, they’re living, but it is art in some sense of the word :p

(So, 3770 more comics, 1256+ more weeks, 24+ more years until we approach the current Hebrew calendar year, and thus then two more months to equal that HCY. By my quick-and-dirty calculations. Meanwhile the Islamic contingent had their coincidence approx 2.5 years ago, give or take a few months due to discoincidental new-year flips. And when was the comic the same as the Chinese zodiac?)

As long as you mount the dart you used to make the holes with a small plaque/label describing the art piece, you will be fine. Google artwork labels for inspiration.

3762? Is that when Yeshua of Nazareth sail'd the ocean blue?

It's actually International Convenience Store Day. Remember, there is only one correct way to write dates. The fact that most of the US and much of the EU continue to ignore this in favor of their own stupid methods doesn't change this. And yes, by sheer coincidence, these mm-dd jokes also happen to work in the US's broken system. But that is just a coincidence.

To avoid people's judgment about your pokemon wall art, just have a child and you've got an excuse that lasts about 18 years. A good investment.

Why not timeshare some kids?
You'll rarely get the best days, but the fees are negative, and it provides the necessary wall art justification.
