I shot a man in Reno, because I thought the meta-humor worked without a rhyme. Trust me, I don't lie.

I shot a man in Reno for being even more pretentious on the Internet than me; few even try!

I shot a man in Reno. It was a dark and stormy night, and as the wind swept across the desperate desert sand, I flipped over his body to reveal his face that was buried in the sand. Dirt and sand stuck to his sweaty face and blood had been tossed up from his mouth when I flipped him over. His wound would never close itself. I looked up and stared into the desolate sky.

I once shot a man in reno, and had his brains stir-fried
I once shot a man in reno, and gobbled up his eyes
I once shot a man in reno, and baked him in a pie
I once shot a man in reno, and smoked him to get high

I shot a man in Reno just so I would fry
My life it wasn't worth another painful try
Too long have I sat here drinking whiskey and rye
I shot a man in Reno, hopefully I'll fly

I shot a man in Reno,
Then fed myself some Beano,
Watched the Olympics in Torino,
Talked to everyone that we know,
Watched a film with Martin Sheen, oh,
And then I watched him die.

I'm not a man in Reno -- I haven't seen a drive-by.

(y'know, too many people get shot in Reno. Why would anyone go there?)

I shot a man in Reno 'cause I thought he was a spy
I shot a man in Reno with a twenty-sided die (they make great ammo, really!)
So, I got tired of the fact that the appearance of my band name in my signature made my posts on this forum the dominant result when googling for my music. Anyway, if you think I might happen to be a good musician, you can test this theory here.

I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him cry
I shot a man in Reno, but was aiming for his french fry.
I shot a man in Reno, because I was high
I shot a man in Reno, he was stealing my tie.
I shot a man in Reno, 'cause he wouldn't eat Thai.
I shot a man in Reno, because that's where he happened to be when I felt like shooting somebody.

Odd, I woke up this morning and HGTV is showing "Real Renos". So far they haven't shot anyone. And there is very little rhyming.

I shot a man in Reno, cuz he was touching my thigh.
I shot a man in Reno...he didn't like it.
I shot a main in Reno, his name was William Bligh.

So it's from the Greek kaktos? Should become "cactoi" for plural then :)

And to stay on topic:

I shot a man in Reno, but the thing is, I have no idea where Reno is. Is it in Southern or Central America? Sounds kinda like it. It's probably in the States though, because it was written by somebody in the States. um. Oh yeah, something that rhymes with Y.

I shot a man in Reno, my bullet he was divisible by...
I shot a man in the "reno"; he clutched it and asked, "Why?"

Also, the only reason "cactuses" has become a valid plural is because of so many people using it. Language is one of those things that if something is wrong long enough, it becomes right.

Reno is in the western United States; specifically, it is on the western edge of Arizona, not far from Lake Tahoe and the border with California.

Folsom County (and Folsom State Prison) is actually located in northern California, not far from Reno. It's not clear, though, why Cash's outlaw would be headed to a California state prison for shooting a man in Nevada. One might even say that it makes no fucking sense. But that's a pretty small nit to pick.

I shot a man in Reno, but this doesn't really rhyme.

I shot an old lady in Reno, who swallowed a fly
I don't know why she swallowed a fly
But I watched her die.

I shot a man in Reno, then stabbed him with my sai.

I shot a man in Reno, it was a really good ti-
-me and I so totally stole that from Tom Lehrer.

I shot a man in Reno, then a woman, 'cause I'm bi.

I shot a man in Reno - undercover, so I'm sly.

I shot a man in Reno because he's the one who mistyped the "Borak" headline on Fark.

While you are correct, Reno is in Nevada. Which I think is an important thing to note!

(Edit: Why do I always try to put Reno where Las Vegas is? Anyway, I stand corrected, he's wrong. But the important thing is that I'm still right.)

He's not correct, Reno is in Nevada but nowhere near Arizona. It's about 10 miles East of California and nearest part of Arizona is around 400 miles away.

Ah crap, got my Arizona and Nevada confused. Yeah, it's definitely in Nevada. Forgive me, I haven't lived in the west for very long (and with any luck I won't be here much longer!).

Thankfully there are no numbers in German that rhyme with this, otherwise, I'd start a new "repitition is evil" sub-thread.

I shot a man in Reno, his repitition was awry.
