That would make for a great t-shirt design right there... (minus the top panels)

Is the orgasm line supposed to be connected to thigh contact?

...I've never had THAT happen...

Wait... so the girl started at kissing, moved on to using the scroll thingy on that one apple mouse, had an orgasm, then dry-humped, and finally reached oral sex? Yes, I'd imagine that that would end in a "red flag" whatever THAT is).
And that's not even getting started on whatever the 50-yard line and ten-pin are in this scenario

Not funny, Randall.

One of my great-great-great-great grandfathers died in the Napoleanic wars.

Not cool, not funny, not a good comic.

"The Boring Zone" is a place where rundowns can happen. While one might not wish for them, they can create quite a bit of excitement.
Try the Printifier for xkcd. You can now scale the comic between 50 and 150%.

I find these very useful: Common Errors in English Usage (web site) and Eats, Shoots & Leaves (book). You may, too.

There's no null at all. Space is hex 20 and "2" is hex 32. I can see that there might be some confusion in that decimal 32 = hex 20.

I registered just to say the following:

[CHORUS]
Now imagine me in the Maginot Line
Sitting on a mine in the Maginot Line
Now it's turned out nice again
The Army life is fine

The enemy we had to chase
But my gun got out of place
I went and shot the Colonel in the base
Down on the Maginot Line

(Ukulele Break)

[CHORUS]

I imagine "2outfielders1glove" is like... 2 Girls 1 Cup. Which... let's not even go there. Also I heart Peaches. Those songs make absolutely no sense, and that's why they're so fun to listen to. I think in "Lost in Translation," the song quoted above plays while a stripper hangs upside down in front of Bill Murray. Good times.

A friend and I were just talking about this the other day, except we were just using baseball as the euphemism. "So are they playing baseball together?" "I don't know, she never told me if they were playing together, but I think they had a game last night." "It's difficult to spare time to play, but at least there are a lot of good athletes in my dorm."
"Gerry, I'm a woman! We don't say what we WANT! But we reserve the right to get pissed off if we don't get it. That's what makes us so fascinating! And not a little bit scary." - Lydia, Sliding Doors (1998)

OK, make that such fail2, . I could have sworn that said 0000 0000; it's obviously not, and other people would have commented if this was one of those things Randall corrects. So I just can't read straight or think straight tonight.

Is my being able to read "base 2" in binary without consulting an ASCII reference an indicator that I'll never be able to pass said base on a date?

I was amused at this comic initially. I had to look up Peaches; she's the second Google hit.

Also, nice distinction between fursuits and crotchless fursuits being on opposite sides of the orgasm line. Most people never get that, and most of us furries cannot articulate it so succinctly. A picture is truly worth a thousand words.

I failed the geek test; I didn't get Base 2 or Your Base. I thought the latter was an odd description of monosexuality, though in retrospect, that would be "warming up in the batting cage." Ironically, when I first saw the title, I immediately thought of different numerical bases.

But what made me laugh out loud, after I had extracted every morsel of humor from this comic, was the alt text. I startled the cat.

Meh, I have a feeling this comic could have benefited from better organization and more thorough knowledge of baseball for joke purposes. It was such a great concept, but the execution was a bit of a let-down.

I think this is one of the all-time best comics ever on xkcd. I'm totally going to mark on a few people now.

Also, Salmon Run --> best metaphor for 4th base = 0th base, aka "life MOD 4".

Great. Just great. I come here to post that I often sit on the top of the couch, like the girl in the comic, and wanting to add why there wasn't an All Your Base, and I get ninja'd. Several times.

I'll just go cry now.

Edit:
Wait, does it actually count as ninja'd, if you only think about posting it, but realize others have before you? Or is it only when you notice after posting?

Edit Edit:
And let's not forget that I, too, had looked up the binary and found it to say 'base 2'. Wasn't gonna post it though.

Edit Edit Edit:
Also, the most awesome comic in quite a while. Lots of references, coupled with an actual explanation of the rules for us non-Americans. Pure win.

Edit *:
Also, this comic lends itself to so many jokes, that someone's head must explode soon.

Also, I edit too much, don't I.

The xkcd forums: the only place on the Internet where sex and base analogies are being talked about by half the users and the other half are discussing HTML and Binary.
I enjoyed today's comic immensely and shall enjoy sharing it.
Also I just noticed that my firefox told me that my accidental typing of xkcd with capslock on was wrong!

Edit: It says "base 2". *groan*

Not necessarily. Depending on the encoding Randall used in the comic, it could easily (well, maybe not easily...) be any of:

UTF-16BE: 扡獥′
UTF-16LE: 慢敳㈠
UTF-8: base 2
US-ASCII: base 2

And yes, I'm counting UTF-8 and US-ASCII separately. :D
