Thats... that's genius.

Yes... yes it is!
I am suitably impressed!

That more than makes up for the burning cheese in the first panel, which I just noticed has been fixed.

Well, not really; that report was only done by one city's local station. I have yet to see a national news outlet do a big story on 4chan.

Possibly both. Also, I think Stephenie is sort of full of herself. When her next book got leaked all over the internet she threw her hands up and discontinued it.

She also reads Twilight fanfiction. Her beta is a Twilight fanfiction author, probably one of the most famous fanfiction authors on the net today, and I would even go as far to suspect that Meyer writes fanfiction for her own series.

Twilight IS its own fanfiction. Just like /b/ is its own trolls. Hmmmm...

I saw that scribble the first few times and wondered what it was.
When I looked again the scribble was there but my firefox crashed.
Upon restoring the tabs, the scribble was gone...
I doubted my sanity until now :)

This may be the first time since my first timid steps onto the internet that I percieved /b/ to be the "good guys" of any confrontation. I would say it's the lesser of two evils, but that's both an insult to /b/ and a compliment to the Twilight fans.

QFT

If you read the thread posted before, you'll see this:
>We could spam a link to an article about the guy who played Edward's gay sex scene
[link redacted]

What exactly is that in the last panel?

That's the "troll face" or "cool face."
The original comic
One of the more creative derivations
He also has dangly-twirly arms

In other news, of course moot is a fan of XKCD. He and Randall are totally gay for each other, as was shown at the end of ROFLcon. (If this is not true, there is probably a slashfic of it.) I can't give Randall any credit for portraying the 'troll' properly. A real troll would not care about the consequences of his actions, even if they were somehow adverse to himself. In fact, I would go as far as to say that the troll that trolled and got re-trolled by his targets would welcome the opportunity to re-re-troll again. You know that one episode of 'Disney's Recess,' where they build a fort (Fort Tender) and then they realize that "man it's not fun just sitting around, let's invite our mortal enemies to come invade us it'll be fun." Yeah, that's what is more likely to happen, especially considering moot and 4chan are playing along... Just As Planned.

Image

Man, that moot is such a looker.

edit: oh, I might as well post this thread. I laughed really hard when I saw it last night, but you can kind of tell it's all just one person posting the relevant text. How? Lurk more, and you'll be able to tell, that's how.

Alright. I've read all the twilight books as well as all the xkcd comics. Twilight..is badly written but with a limpingly good storyline. But anytime /b/ is trolled, even if most of it is from anon and the inside, its funny. And its getting trolled as hell.

Do you actually think Stephanie Meyer gives two shits about her retarded fanbase?... Please. It's lulzy to think that this might happen, but in all reality, all Randall did here was give Anonymous an excuse to go troll the Twilight fandom.

Spoiler:
Which was probably his plan all along.

I think you need to lrn2 look closer at pictures on the Internets. Cool face was derived from the "intentional logical fallacies," as you can clearly see the face itself has been shrunk in "problem officer." Also, jpg artifacts. Furthermore, the "lоl i trol you" artist actually shows competence, while "problem officer" is standard-fare ms-paint-with-mouse and no way would I believe that the latter would have drawn such a riveting face.

Not really, no: you'd be simply adding up two evils -- they'd sort of absorb each other and turn into an even bigger monster.

Twilight and 4chan cancelling each other out would be a very desirable scenario, but the comic suggests that Meyer took over 4chan with her fans. That's is just my personal sight of Hell. It's pretty much like fanfiction.net taking over Hollywood... ... ... which actually doesn't seem too far from reality...

I loved this one! I really wish that would happen!
Though, she could do a Literary-DDOS by having it go something like this:

"Edward clicked Start, and then Run. He typed in "Cmd" and then typed in the following, which is the secret of how Vampires use computers."
After that would be some sort of ping something or other to mess with 4chan.

/b/tards, I will say this loud and clear.
We do not care for your discussions of the etymology of crude MSPaint smileyfaces. We do not care for your "oh by the way, 4chan was renamed", not even at the first posting iteration. We do not give a flying f*** that your Anonymous peers are emulating the strip's dialogue for teh lulz. Take your inane pratter back to /a/ through /z/.
If you are lurking in your preparations for raiding Echochamber, then you can quite honestly bring it on. You don't stand a chance.

Yeah, shush.
Quite a few of us quite like to hear what's going on, I find it hilarious the header title's been changed, I find it hilarious that some decent channers are emulating the strip and I find it hilarious people have planned a raid.

If anyone else had emulated the script you'd be laughing, if anyone else had changed their entire site's header just because Randall said so, you'd be laughing.
All that's happening here is you don't like 4chan and you're whining about it.

Do you know how stupid it is antagonising raiders? Enough people who visit 4chan are as stupid as you and have this irrational hate for a different internet group just because.
Yeah, I'm sure the mods will handle it perfectly well, but if you play along and antagonise them, in their eyes, it'll turn from a funny raid to a fight between them and us. Bad times. Don't make yourself an enemy if you aren't one already.

I doubt anybody will invade the XKCD forums. Pointless, really. A troll victim is a troll victim because the victim cares about whatever he is getting trolled about. It is more entertaining to continue the current super-sekrit stealth troll. For those that care about what's going on, it can be summed up as TsimFuckis, not Twilight or XKCD. That little dude stole all the twilight attention, how timely, right?

The purpose of /b/ is hard to pin down, think of it as driven by the essence of chaos which delights in trolling and therefore trolls itself constantly.

oh, where to begin

for starters the displayed threads seem to suggest 4chan uses avatars, like one of these boards. nuh-uh.

/b/ was NEVER good.
/b/ =/= 4chan, but it does make up a goodly part of it and there's reasonable cross pollination between the boards. there's enough retardness to go round.
also /b/ =/= /i/, which was specifically made for this sort of thing.

interjection: i like the idea of a nerd's face stopping us from printing or photocopying the strip, to prevent further breaking of the rules outside of the intertubes.

still, the rules have been quite forcefully broken by anonymous - or forces claiming to be them - recently, with the whole "mass trolling youtube with porn" thing. it was enough to get them a (small) article in another (small) semi-international media... i.e. the free daily "metro" newspaper read by about a squillion bored, internet-capable, public-transport-commuting office captives on the way to and from work every day across britain, and bits of ireland / europe. I snapped it with my phone cam at the time, but the battery's dead so i can't relay it to you by the magic of bluetooth. it is available on their website search however (along with something about rickrolling), to wit: http://search.metro.co.uk/search?q=4chan

silly anonymi. everyone knows it was actually ebaumsworld that did it. why do they try to claim the glory?
and that if the scenario played out in the strip was ever to happen, all that would result is /b/ going into chemo again: PARTY HARD MODE lockdown, replacing every posted image with a random from the pain series, massive wordfiltering, intermittent bursts of 100% volume whitenoise, serious permab&hammer abuse, etc.
God I miss that glorious chaos, along with the camwhores, wierd treasure hunts, etc but at the same time I'm quite glad I haven't loaded up any *chan for the best part of a year now.
Taking it one day at a time. Like a recovering alcoholic.

PS, enough with the screencaps already
PPS, I wonder how much of the strip and this thread is/are actually subtle trolls
PPPS, jesus, all this drama over a few goddamn books? Even harry potter didn't seem to create this much, and what i've read of that marks it out as some pretty horrid literature. What is it with intertrolls vs frighteningly lunatic fans of bad authors (and i'm including L.R.Hubbard in that)?
PPPPS - arachnophilia: ocean of piss. It doesn't matter what you do in there. No rules, no mercy, no crying. And it all disappears into the white noise of /dev/null/ after about an hour anyway.
P^5S - have you read that list of what the twilight loonies have done in defence to even the merest slight over their favourite series? There must be some kind of strange mildly hypnotic thing embedded in the words (apparently, you can do things like that to sabotage the human wetware with words... my dad gave me a CDR with some instructional courses of that type on but i'm terrified to actually read them, a bit like getting too far into the Holders series or what have you. Absolutely bananas.

NB post half made then forgot about in this window for a couple hours. Points will be slightly stale and possibly disjointed if i've forgotten something. Have fun.

Er.. no, it doesn't. It suggests it uses whatever the name of the image board format that 4chan, 2chan, and all the rest use in which users can attach pictures to every single post if so desired. Twilight Fans, according to Randall, desire to do so.

So.. yeah. Also, you're taking things too seriously.
