Yeah, that would be pretty cool.

Wow. First reply and you won the thread. Major, major props. /hi-five.

I was expecting something more interesting - but that kind of plays into the joke of the comic anyway, now doesn't it?

Replace French with Spanish, four blog posts with two thousand, and two beers with no beer ever (although I nearly wrote "two bears," which actually would be quite interesting) and it would be me. A long shot, but I know I felt significantly less interesting after reading this. Probably would have been less of a stab to the gut if I was familiar with the commercials ahead of time. Got to watch more TV, I guess.

I'm not cool, not funny, and not a good comic.

This comic reminds me of myself.

Oh man. I used to be able to speak French in high school. I don't think any of the other 3 panels apply to me, but that one stung.

I've been listening to "Nowhere Man" a lot.

Hey, I have dreams, I tell people about them, I know a little bit of French, I used to know more, and I have four blog posts (all apologies for not posting more)! I've never drunk though.

In retrospect, I've been 'blogging' in various forms since the dawn of the new internet (post bubble, cc. 2003 from memory), and I don't think I've once apologised for a lack of an update. I think the longest I went between posts was between service changes, but even then it may have been 3 weeks, tops.

And the funny thing is, no one ever complained about the downtime...

You know, I did email Randall once to get permission to make a film out of one of his strips, but I'm not aware that I've actually met him or that he'd know me well enough to write this...

My own attempts at this joke idea from my Facebook page over the past couple of weeks:

"Tim Nayar has dreams that are so boring, they put even him to sleep. He is... the least interesting man in the world."

"Tim Nayar is a lover, not a fighter. No one said he was good at either. If one person in sex is the winner and the other the loser, with him it is a game forfeit due to not enough players on the field. He is... the least interesting man in the world."

"Tim Nayar had a doctor who once told him that he only had one month to live. Tim spent the rest of that month and 3 weeks of the next crying in the fetal position on the doctor's floor. He is... the least interesting man in the world."

"Tim Nayar was once on a plane which was going to crash. He only had time to make one phone call. He called his podiatrist to cancel his orthopedic shoe inserts. He is... the least interesting man in the world."

"Tim Nayar has counted to 1,000,000 in binary. Twice. He has single-handedly verified that every word in the dictionary is spelled correctly. He knows another word for Thesaurus. He is... the least interesting man in the world."

"Tim Nayar has never needed to count his socks. He knows exactly, at all times, just how many he has, where they are, and how many of them need ironing. He is... the least interesting man in the world. 'I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I get slightly nauseous. Stay thirsty, my friends.' "

I still liked your joke too, Randall. Just wanted to contribute to the funny.

perfect match for me (although the second frame is cheated: i AM french). i'm glad i am not alone to match this description: i feared i was so boring. now let's create a "club of the least interesting mens in the world" and do some pretty interesting stuffs together.

@screech: i do enjoy talking about dreams too, but dreams are rather personal, so most people won't talk about them easily.

I will fight you all for the title of world's least interesting man.

Or not, because it's pretty subjective as to what's interesting and what's not. See, I see whale biology as the least interesting thing in the world. And I'm a whale biologist.

This comic doesn't have the "Updated Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays" line at the top... so perhaps we're getting daily updates this week? Perhaps something very interesting is about to happen to the least interesting man in the world...?

Or maybe that "Updated Mondays..." line has actually not been on the comics for some time and I just never realised :/

I like telling people my dreams, and what's more, I like hearing about others' dreams. But both in moderation; it gets boring when people go on and on and make out they're sooo very crazy and random. Everyone's dreams are weird! You are not unique or special!

I'd never seen the ad before, I thought he was just being mean.

Last night I dreamt I saw a friend who I haven't seen for a few months. I miss him, I wish I could go back into that dream. I can't wait to get back to uni!

Honestly, I'm disappointed. This comic is an excellent representation of a certain kind of person, but Mr. Munroe really should've run with it and tied it into friendships or dating at the end (or at the beginning). I really feel like we were left one panel short.

What are the chances? I didn't get the reference so I came to the forums. I followed a link to youtube videos and paused Pandora to listen to them. When I was done and went to unpause Pandora, I noticed the Pandora page was showing an ad for "The Most Interesting Academy - Dos Equis". How do you do that?

The title of this comic makes me wonder if it's a subtle poke at what happens on digg for each new xkcd comic, namely:

<binky79> This is the best xkcd ever!
<tehpwnerofn00bs> Dugg for consistency.
<bklethal> Binky mentioned before that he makes this post each time passive aggressively/sarcastically because, though he enjoys the occasional xkcd, it's a bit ridiculous that they make it to the front page and receive so many diggs each time. Now Binky has become what he was once protesting, a source for large amounts of diggs based on the same generic post. Ironic. Meh, c'est la vie. Who will protest the protesters?

I can not associate to this comic's protagonist. Make a comic about someone who is
  • Awesome
  • Effortlessly succeeds in everything
  • Gets drunk from tons of Vodka and does surreal shenanigans that don't make me groan in the morning. (I did tell you about that girl I pushed around in a shopping cart to a late night drunk-as-hell-pizza-date right?)
I edit my posts a lot and sometimes the words wrong order words appear in sentences get messed up.
