I know this is a necro, but it's okay, I'm new.

While this is comic is 100% true. The Gameboy and Gameboy Advance Pokemon games are still some of the greatest video games ever made. Not one of them is not fun. I play Pokemon online using a program called NetBattle like 2-3 days a week. :P

That said, the anime/manga/TCG are so bad that they make this comic true. My friends make fun of me all the time, the ones I haven't got addicted to NB that is.

I had an opportunity to use this joke tonight, and it was a great success.

p.s. shoutout to the manic sages out there! last year should have been ours, if not for that lame senate seating problem.

They got rid of Brock? He was the only reason that show was entertaining.

In related news, apparently they're still making episodes of some spinoff of that. Good Lord, how long can they milk that franchise to death?

:Raises hand: Though I'm just watching for Jessie, James, and Meowth. The answer to the second part is, "Until they run out of colours." Ultraviolet and Infrared, perhaps?

Possibly the only time in my life when I was not embarrassed to have formerly been into Pokemon was when working on this item for the MIT Mystery Hunt puzzle thingy.

Why are there so many typos on that page? It makes my brain hurt too much to continue reading. (And yet I attempt to claim that I'm not pedantic...)

*cough cough*

Secondly, why can't i figure out how to quote with names?

yes. I spend my times going to some random forum, posting a rickroll (which I made) that also hacks their password, and then getting on their forums account and then posting that the person I am hacking is gay.
Or something to that effect. Hell, I don't know.

Woo hooo! Dragged another friend into XKCD. This one via an IM exchange I found hilarious:

Ben: I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 last night
Ben: or was it .05?
Ben: anyhow, it's pretty nice.
troyn123: Hmm... I'm not really into Pokémon.
Ben: huh?
troyn123: Dude... You should be dying laughing right now.
troyn123: /sigh
troyn123: http://xkcd.com/178/
Ben: lol
Ben: wtf
troyn123: Is what I said funnier now? :-P

See you all around!

This one deserves to be seen:

Enjoy.

I wish I had the guts to say that!

I could see many possible uses for this one though

Unfortunately, I cannot use this because, as a matter of fact, I really *am* into pokemon.

...However, as I don't own a DS, I've kinda missed out on the latest generation of games...

Yeah but around here no one really cares whether anyone is gay or not. We do happen to care a little when people think being gay is a bad thing. I mean, honestly, people might think you're being small minded and infantile...

More on topic: This really does work as quite a convincing put down, but you can only use it once after it becomes unfunny.

I <3 pokemon. :)

I currently own Ruby, Diamond, and Platinum. I will be buying Soul Silver on its release. And eventually I'll pick up FireRed and Emerald when I can find them decently priced.

Oh, and Kanto FTW! :P

The franchise on the whole was best in the GSC-generation, I think, but the games only improve as they release more Pokemon to catch. It's a real pity I don't have a DS or I'd still be playing Pearl right now...

Lightning flamingo, I choose you!

The only thing I ever played pokemon on was my trusty TI-83+. Truly an awesome game.

Fun fact: The TI-83 and the original gameboy actually used the same processor (z80).

This is very off-topic, but is there a problem with this post, or with my encoding or font? The è just shows up as gibberish to me, and I've been getting that a lot with special characters lately.

I see "pok" and then an A with a tilde on top, a copyright 'c' and then "mon".
