Title text: On one hand, every single one of my ancestors going back billions of years has managed to figured it out. On the other hand, that's the mother of all sampling biases.

Yes! Every one of my ancestors lived to reproduce!!!

Judging from previous strips I would have thought the natural impulse would be to take it apart, not put another one together.

Take it apart and put it back together, but don't forget the anti-static wrist strap.

Title text makes this comic.

And yeah, the first thing I thought of when I saw "parenting." was that strip.

Maybe this is the more mature twin from this comic.

Also, it appears that the baby is autological - it describes itself.

I like how nine months became "soon." What did they do with the first kid in the meantime?

Hmm... Well, I can at least see that the first kid made it through the ten months between panels 3 and 4.

Soo.... They must be doing SOMEthing right, feeding him and such.

My question: How long is the gestation period of stick figures? Because in the first panel they only realized they had made a baby when it was already out! And in the last panel it says "soon", and the normal 9 months gestation period really isn't that soon!

If you were a baby, would you stay nine months in a stick uterus?

Don't forget to add in the time it took the first baby to become verbal.
Try the Printifier for xkcd. You can now scale the comic between 50 and 150%.

I find these very useful: Common Errors in English Usage (web site) and Eats, Shoots & Leaves (book). You may, too.

I think the baby saying "Baby!" is the best part of the comic.

If that were the case, it probably wouldn't have an "!", i'm going with the pokemon theory

The baby waving its hands/stumps around made me grin.

Whatever they are doing, it must be working, as both babies already are (and still are) standing on their feet.

Get out of my life, Randall?

My nephew was born this morning, so a baby-themed comic is...fitting, I guess.

And all that really means is some of the off spring survived, it has nothing to do with GOOD parenting.

I find this a bit ironic (though I hesitate to quoth "randall get out of my head!") considering recent things I've said to persons of this fora regarding a recent abundance of pre-marital undesired procreation with resulting marriage among guys I knew in college who are well aware of birth control and it's proper use, and how frustrated the pattern makes me.

They already screwed up.

There are 3 simple rules:

1.)Don't get it wet
2.) Don't feed it after midnight
3.) No bright lights

See what happens when you ignore the rules
Now there are two of them

Wait. Since when did unwanted pregnancies lead to an increase in gay marriage? I mean, purely from a biological standpoint I can see the logic, but it does seem like a radical - though effective - step.

I don't think he means between "guys he knew" like his two mates Bill and Steve hooking up, but rather his two mates hooking up with other girls.

I like how in Panel 2 the baby looks like he's about to go off on some fantastic exploring game. Look at his poise - he's going exploring!

And then look at me, assuming baby number one is male.
