0677: "Asshole"

Alt Text: [Shortly thereafter, at a nearby bakery] ::CRASH:: ::RUMBLE:: ::VRRRRRR:: '... I don't know, officer. It just scooped up an entire rack of scones and drove away!'

The man in the beret returns!

I found the alt-text amusing, for some reason.

Does this mean that beret guy is the new classhole?

Beret guy win.

It's good to have a comic that doesn't make me use my brain that much. Especially during finals. Thanks, Randall.

Does anyone else have a small panic attack when comics are late?

Good comic, however it would have been better if he was using a Transformer...

Not all that high on my list of top funny ones. I may not fully understand the character of the Beret Guy but for some reason this didn't seem to fit with my impression of his character.

Title text was so funny in this comic if you read xkcd regularly! Imagine that though :P

Also, they beat me to the classhole joke - Mine was something like this:
It seems that our asshole, is now a classhole *puts on sunglasses* [Won't get fooled again]

I think this comic was complete by panel three. That's where I found it most amusing, anyway.
All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That's how far the world is from where I am. Just one bad day.

Nah, I don't think beret guy is the new classhole. The man in the black hat will return. Beret guy just really likes sweets, especially those scones...

Panel 1: Beret guy gets heckled for owning an SUV
Panel 2: Beret guy buys a hybrid
Panel 3: Beret guy gets heckled for owning a hybrid
Panel 4: Beret guy buys an excavator of some kind, which they apparently sell at car yards now
Panels 5-7: I think these are pretty clear

Sounds pretty existentialist to me. "Can't please anyone, so screw it, I'm gonna do what I really want."

I get ninja'd by a mere minute. :( Why are the ninjas always out to get me?

But yeah, the other guy in panel 2 and 4 is the car dealer.

On another note, I just noticed that the forum has returned back to its old host, i.e. not being at forums.xkcd.com anymore. When did that happen?

I suppose it would make sense in that way, as opposed to the other way around. Personally, though, I'd never before imagined the beret guy would adopt a 'hole-with (or without)-class side. He'd always seemed so innocent before...

I have to say, this comic was pretty good! I hardly actually laugh at webcomics these days, it was nice to break the habit =)

Also, it sort of reminds me of the "snob fog" episode of South Park.

If so, that means that an evil twin (good twin?) of Megan exists somewhere.

I'm assuming BHG's girlfriend is Megan, correct me if I'm wrong.

Does anyone else always imagine the beret guy with a French accent?

Anyway I liked this one, although beret buy seemed a bit out of character when he knocked them down . . . but he got back into it when in the last panel, lol.

To me the Beret guy has the voice of Ned Nederlander in the Three Amigos.

Indeed it is an important question. I once spent an entire two hour coach journey arguing with someone about the correct pronunciation of scone. I was right of course, I had several people backing me, he was on his own.

My dear old Grandma, who is a Scottish lady of fine vintage, rhymes it with "gone". So that settles it, quite uncontroversially, I think. She did, however, spout frequent and numerous adages from the Victorian era about how to raise children. "Children should be seen but not heard" was a favourite.

But then she also taught me how to cross the road. "Look right, then left, and then right again!" There was a particular importance attached to looking right again. I think she knew about maniacs driving diggers.

- It's scone.
