Let's see, if you're standing next to two or three naked people, you also take your clothes off, but if you're next to more than 3, or by yourself things get weird and you put clothes back on,

I suppose a nice game of strip tic-tac-toe would be in order. Unlike strip global thermonuclear war, it's not necessarily an exercise in futility, because you can always play to lose.

I love how this has been up for half an hour, and already there are 10 google hits for "strip global thermonuclear war".

Strip Rock-Paper-Scissors (-Lizard-Spock)
Try the Printifier for xkcd. You can now scale the comic between 50 and 150%.

I find these very useful: Common Errors in English Usage (web site) and Eats, Shoots & Leaves (book). You may, too.

Wow, I think this is the biggest "Randall Get out of my Head" moment I've ever had, and that's saying something. I was looking up Conway's Game of Life literally just a couple minutes ago.

An interesting game; the only way to win is not to play, and that's the exact reason we play it.

This is only valid if you were imagining some college kids/developmentally arrested twenty-somethings/mid-life-crisis-victims stripping to it.

The alt-text inspired me to look up strip tic-tac-toe, which comes up with 0.015%.

The first result for 'strip tic-tac-toe' is a flash version of the game...

45 minutes after the comic is posted, the results are already inaccurate: "strip chess by mail" is already at 0.0052% (3/57200).

"No fair! You changed the outcome by observing it!"

Code: Select all

I once played strip Apples to Apples...

It was also a drinking game. We got so drunk and ran out of rum and vodka that we started doing shots of kahlua. By that time everyone was naked...

I have played strip Catan, but I'm a little surprised that strip Yahtzee wasn't mentioned. That's far and away the strip game I've played most.

Great comic.

Thanks Randall. After a recent death of a loved one,and that really depressing insight on Friday, your usual humour has managed to bring laughter back to my face. No "get out of my head" required.

On a more related note, has anyone considered the implications of strip correspondence chess? would you have to remain unclothed for the entire duration, or could one get by with a snapshot and a redress? Methinks the former would make for some interesting discussions at place of employment, etc. Probably a reason nobody plays.

I googled it. Mostly it came up with references to Strip Mine, and m:tg comic strips.

I played strip volleyball. But it was in the evening, so it got dark and we went home before anyone got properly undressed. It would have been a short game anyway, because we were pretty terrible at it.

Yes, wikipedia has a Poohsticks article. Complete with picture of a game in progress.

I am surprised that Disney (owner of all things Pooh) allows the World Poohsticks Championship to continue.
