Its not funny until you notice the viagra. And I guess (which makes it funny) that its the xray that sees through clothes (hence BHG selling viagra pills, so guys don't feel ashamed about their lower appendage). Am I doing it right?

Yeah, that.

It's 'funny' (and sad) that Randall thinks this is a good comic. Or does he?

Thanks Canineteeth for explaining it, I couldn't be bothered figuring out how all the details meshed. I figured it was something that stupid and immature.

What about the girls in the line? Shouldn't they be purchasing some form of lead-based protection? :P

I don't think it was about the guys being embarrassed or ashamed or anything, the plan was just to ruin the security officer's day.
All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That's how far the world is from where I am. Just one bad day.

I still don't fully get why the guys would be so willing to pay to show off their willies, but it was a very well-executed joke and a much better use of Black Hat Guy. Well done.
Just FYI, the guy isn't avatar isn't me. But he seems pretty cool.

"Excuse me sir, is that stick of dynamite? Please step over here for a minute."

While I'm fairly certain they'd be able to tell the difference between a penis and a stick of dynamite, it would make the day of the TSA attendant a lot more interesting.

I did not get this u til I saw the wiki page about backscatter xrays.

If there was a more sensical, descriptive-but-short name for the xray machine I mightve found this funny, but the immature general idea and obscure technology referenced lost this one in my opinion.

Ah, I would've never gotten it without the Wiki page on backscattering. It makes it a lot funnier when you combine the Wiki page and the Urban Dictionary page.

It's a reference to this article. A TSA screener got made fun of by his coworkers for having a tiny dick after he went through the scanner. This is also relevant because there's a big controversy currently over whether these full-body x-rays are too invasive to privacy or not.

Viagra doesn't help much unless you already have erectile dysfunction, though there may be a significant enough placebo effect.

Or maybe it's just for jet lag and altitude sickness.

I laughed. I've only dealt with TSA twice, the most recent one being in June on my return from Hawaii after the MATE ROV competition. The TSA agents in the airport held up one of the team's bags due to an electric motor/propeller that I guess looked suspicious on x-rays. We tried to tell them what it was, and that if they just let us open the damn bag we could clear the whole thing up in a minute. But instead we stood off to the side for 20 minutes while they stood around calling supervisors.

And then, passing through the metal detector, I had some metal on my pants that I am unable to remove. I passed through the metal detector, and when it went off, I told them I wouldn't be able to remove it, and that I should just go to the advanced screening. They made me go through the metal detector again, and then decided I needed to go through the advanced screening. Regular font of efficiency those ones.

One of these backscatter machines would have been infinitely preferable, as it would have been abundantly clear it was simply some metal on my pants and not a concealed weapon of any kind. Personally, I don't understand why people have a problem with them.

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a moment of fridge brilliance, but the comic actually ties in with the porno theme of the Scheduling comic pretty well if you think about it.

If you're right, the scheduling has gone even more wrong. The comic was good and funny on its own, I like it even better now I'm imagining that their all flying off to an orgy.

Hmmm..

Fact 1: TSA guy does not want to spend all day looking at boners.
Fact 2: Viagra takes about 30 minutes to 'kick in' (so to speak)

Conclusion: An unregulated free market economy can reduce the wait time of the weapon scanning process.

Wait, hang on.

I don't know if it's been made lax in the States, but I'm pretty sure you have to surrender all liquids before you enter the security checks facility. Regardless of how clear mineral water the bottle appears. So I sadly have to call shenanigans on the chap taking a beverage of sorts to get his pill down.
