Mine would be.. "Amadeus Heimstätten" WTF?!

Or if you take the other pet and the street I lived on when I was younger: "Max Gagarin" -- Well not much better :D

Max Gagarin sounds like a 50's pulp scifi action hero.

Rebel Sterling reporting in - though any kid born in this house now will be "Droolian Newberry" and that's just unfortunate.

Does the name 'Mister Rogers' have a particular reference? It seems like a slightly dull but perfectly adequate porn name to me.

What do you substitute for a pet's name or a middle name if you've never had either?

This algorithm absolutely doesn't work in Hebrew.
In Israel, it's very common to name streets after notable figures from the state's history... you can just imagine the consequences  .

It really doesn't help that I named my dog Snufkin.

Porn name: Rainbow Vineyard
(I'm going to ignore the fact that the street is actually 'The Vineyard')

also, yay Rogers St! I've probably walked down you without realizing it... good times.

I'm not sure which first pet to use. My dad's dog from college was Barney and my parents' cat (their test baby basically) was Yahula, but they had both of those before I existed.

If you count "my" first pet as the first pet that we got after I was born, then my porn name is Thunder Monument.

PS Funnily enough, the monument that the street is referring to is the Bunker Hill Monument in Boston which is a giant phallus.

The algorithm described is indeed a joke, but one I've heard kicked around a fair amount. I am unaware of it being used by any actual porn stars.

(Alas, given the number of places online that ask for the name of your first pet or the street where you grew up as a security question, your porn name may now be something you'd want to keep to yourself.)

Wow, how could this comic not have any sort of reference to the IBM Watson supercomputer being developed at 1 Rogers Street in Cambridge, MA?

What with the cat inevitably running away 5 years from now and the kid going around shouting "Mister, Mister!" in a street crawling with IBM Android(tm) prototypes like Gigolo Joe and Pornorella 2.0

Well, my porn name would be two female first names, so that wouldn't work. They're not even particularly sexy sounding female names.

And starting with the name of my favorite candy won't help either. I'm pretty sure there's no market for a porn star named "3 Musketeers."

Getting back to the actual comic, I laughed hard at the mouseover text. Why is it that callbacks without any real punchline are so funny to me? This is like three for three.

Thanks for the explanation. Truly spoken, I had never heard of "Mister Rogers", either. I suppose it's a local US thing, largely unknown to the rest of the world (maybe except those countries where English is a primary language)?

Nuts to the algorithm. I'd prefer to be listed at the end of the credits, so I'd want a name that would sound best when read as "...and featuring __________________".
I guess my nom de smut would be "J. Studley Hungwell".

Hmm... I always heard a bowdlerized version of this: Your stage name is your middle name and your mother's maiden name.

If I went by the rules, I'd get Hook Ross, but if I bent them a little I'd end up with Sinclair Kings... Neither is terribly appropriate I guess.

You can add me to the list of people who didn't get it due to never having encountered Mr Rogers. Also, I've not heard of porn name being generated from pet and street; I've always known it as pet and mother's maiden name. Given we had two gerbils - Chip and Dale, I could go with Chip Normandy or Dale Wilson, though I've always thought that to be a bit too close to a certain British TV presenter!

Indeed (and thanks for the explanation). But the problem is that no one in the UK has the first clue what that is so reading the strip we're all going, "Why is the name Mr. Fucker a mood killer in porn?" :D
