Mona Lisa Kendall. "Mona Lisa" by itself is pretty good for a girl porn name, but I'm a guy. We had two cats when my daughter was born, but "F'lar Bennington" and "F'nor Bennington" are equivalently bad, so she's safe enough. (Yes, the cats were brothers.)

Also nonplussed by the Cambridge, Ma allusion. Either there's a really good part of the joke we're all missing, or his need to be specific kinda ruined things for me. I'm too hung up on trying to figure out if the New England accent somehow makes "F**K me, Mistah Rogas!" even less of a turn on?

I've always thought that these porn names were just a security question answer phishing scam, considering they ask for pets, maiden names, or hometowns most of the time.

Hmm... I don't think they follow that naming rule all the time, some of the names are a bit hard to believe as pet/street names.

"Moose Brewster" sounds like a pretty cool name though.

First time to post but this reminded my of this clip from Community:

And there was a great mood killer towards the end :D

Dammit XKCD,

You have forced Mr. Rogers and Porn into the same part of my brain, at the same time. It will be at least a week before I can think of one with out thinking of the other.

Zephyr Ringelnatz... oh dear. Doesn't sound sexy to me but a greek god, a poet and some connection to seamanship in both... this would probably limit me to pretentious pseudo-porn?

If so, they succeeded. It's the first time I'm here, and it's completely due to the fact that I read the comic about 10 times trying to figure out ANY sort of meaning to it, and the only thing I got was the reference to Bobby Tables. I've never ever heard of Mister Rogers or his neighbourhood, and the porn name thingie works a bit different here in Sweden (plus the fact that it was like a decade since I last heard of it...) so yeah.

Also, the name would be Jonathan Sigurd. As in the dragon slayer in the Wagner Ring Cycle, although he took it from a Norse source which is whom my street is named after. Incidentally, there is also a Fafnir Street across the road, and of course the entire area (with several hundred little streets and alleys and such) are also named after things like Valhalla, Odin, Thor, Loki, Sleipner, Heimdall and so on. Here the only hilarious thing about this name would be if you lived at Snorre street... and I'll let you figure that one out for yourself ;)

(hint: it has to do with penises...)

Depending on your definition of 'grew up on', the best choice seems to be 'Smokey Henderson'. Which is pretty unremarkable. My son's, however, would be hilarious, but I'm not sharing it. Sorry.

i had two cats, 'seuss' and 'kevin', with my street being 'liverpool'. so i lose this round as (i) seuss / porn is as awful as the mr rogers combination and (ii) i am female so kev doesn't kick it. (with a nod to rule 34 in both instances).

Something that's been neglected over the porn name issue...

Discuss: Would Mr. Rogers prefer to be associated with porn, or with an orgy of violence culminating in suicide? [25 marks]

Because of this, it took me a while to get the joke. I can sort of imagine a British porn star being called 'Mr Rogers.'

'Roger' in this sense reminds me of the supposed names in the old cartoon, Captain Pugwash. People used to say that the names had double meanings, hence 'Seaman Staines' and 'Roger the Cabin Boy.' Though it was an urban myth of sorts, and these names for the characters never really existed.

Somewhat on topic (and I'm sorry in advance if I should've asked it somewhere else) - why is it when i go to xkcd.com I see the current (Rogers St.) comic, but www.xkcd.com leads to Friday's "Pain" comic?

LOL! Oh me yarm! It took me a minute and then I remembered High School. Princess Fountainhill. Sigh. Too appropriate.
Also this comic has a tiny bit of "get out of my head" ness...though not quite. We have an old neighborhood cat named Mr. Meowms, I've known him for 6 years. This summer I remember I hadn't seen him in awhile and then there were Missing Cat posters with his picture on them. I didn't see him again, and assumed he was dead. Yesterday I saw him looking really thin and with new healed scars, sitting on his porch, and he came down to see me, like he always had. Eight months and now Mr. Meowms returns! See...uh...he's a cat with "Mr." in his name.... some porn star Mr. Meowms Gorham would make. However Mister Rogers would actually make a great porn name in some contexts. Porn actually LIKES being umm...twisted and dirty frequently! Incidentally I'm also at the house of one Jimmie Rodgers as we speak, on Hancock St... but Rogers St. is just a few blocks away.

Yes... I named my friend Catherine Kitten.

Move to the Seattle area. Most of the street names are numbers, even the ones 30 miles away from downtown. Nobody is going to watch a porno starring Patrick 133rd.

Yeah, I always wondered at the validity of such a method, seeing as I (as I was a particularly odd child) would have something like "Rice Colonel Warrick." Yeah, doesn't really make a mood for me.
