The idea of "OS Housecat" cracks me up, but come to think of it, certain breeds of housecat might make for slightly more acceptable names.

OS Calico? OS Manx? ...OS Bambino?!?!

How about "Serval" : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serval

They're really good looking, fast and smart.

Not the usual sort of peeve, but I'm more bothered he isn't digging into the treasure trove of absurd jokes Ubuntu has sitting around, have you ever seen an imprecise pangolin?

Note that OS X Mancat is right out, for obvious reasons, no yiffing allowed in my /usr folder, thanks.

This comic missed that black jaguars and leopards can also be called panthers.

I once saw Housecat being used to refer to Mac OS 9 (unofficially, of course).
Stephen Hawking: Great. The entire universe was destroyed.
Fry: Destroyed? Then where are we now?
Al Gore: I don't know. But I can darn well tell you where we're not—the universe!

Am I the only one who misreads this title as Felicia Day?

I'm pretty sure you're both right. Of course I haven't checked...

When the Germans encountered this problem, they solved it by naming their next iteration... the mouse.

Both of these comments deserved some extra LOLs.

Apple announced today their solution to the problem.

They're changing to surf breaks now.

Hmmm... surfing locations in California?

You'd catch 'em surfin at Del Mar,
Ventura County line,
Santa Cruz and Tressels,
...
All over Manhattan,
And down Doheny way,
...
At Haggerty's and Swami's,
Pacific Palisades,
San Onofre and Sunset,
Redondo Beach, L.A.,
All over La Jolla...

I like OS X Redondo.
Or OS X Del Mar.
I hear velociraptor tastes like chicken.
