He's not dead, James Doohan beamed him up and with DeForest Kelley they're on the way to Vulcan to put Nimoy back in his body.

I shall always remember him fondly for his roles as Host in the TV series In Search Of ... and as Narrator in the beloved video game Civilization IV. And let us never forget how he sang to us of hobbits.

I hear he's an actor? I've certainly never seen a movie with him in it.

(Okay, I know he's from Star Trek, but that's before my time, so...)

We did get a movie with Chris Lee, Tim Curry, Jeremy Irons, and Terry Pratchett. In a movie version of The Colour of Magic/The Light Fantastic (first two discworld books).

He didn't work as hard as Vincent Price by any means, but he had a distinctive voice that showed up in unexpected places. In addition to Transformers, he was the narrator for Civilization 4, for instance. And I gather that he was the voice of Xehanort in Kingdom Hearts after Square-Enix decided to release every new game on a new console and I stopped playing.

Don't forget the 1978 Invasion of the Body Snatchers, which is a really good movie if you're into 70s/80s sci-fi horror.

Today I learned (upon looking up BMT on urbandictionary; I'm pretty sure you meant "biting my tongue" or "before my time") that the Subway sandwich BMT (which is what first popped in my head) doesn't stand for "bacon... [meat? mayo?] tomato?", but originally stood for "Brooklyn Manhattan Transit" (geddit? like the subway in New Yawk!) but now stands for "bigger, meatier, tastier" according to the company.

Of course, it's also possible you meant "Bob Marley Time" or "Brushing My Teeth". (And of course it wouldn't be urban dictionary if there wasn't a disgusting sex act meaning as well.)

i'm not sure what "before my time" is intended to mean, in the context of recorded media. i mean, woodstock was bmt, but metropolis was shot in the 20's and i've still seen it.

I think the accepted use would be something along the lines of "The cultural relevance of the event waned before I was aware of culture." Of course you can still experience recorded media that was before your time, but you are significantly less likely to be exposed to those things by chance.

But to stick with the thread, LLAP Nimoy.
