My Favorite Gay Rights Awareness Campaign. EVER.

Postby Princess Marzipan » Tue Dec 07, 2010 6:32 am UTC

Honestly, I don't see anything really topping this. Not really gay rights; directed rather pointedly toward alleviating queer youth suicides.

It's very NSFW. Beyond that, enjoy:

If this gains popularity, then I sense controversy with the smaller girl dropping f-bombs. Other than that, awesome ad.

Yea, but they were going to complain about a little girl in an anti-hate campaign anyway. "Oh noes, they be contaminating our childrenz with teh gay". Fuck em.

Fuck that is awesome. Minus all the shirts and stickers and shit, those were pretty lame, they need some better shirts. But the rest of it was good.

Is purple now the new pink? We should be careful, or the gays take over the entire rainbow.

Sometimes it feels like they're using the word "fuck" wrong. Some of the phrases don't sound quite right. As if there was a better swear word that would fill the slot. I realize it would be not in the theme of "fuck antigays", but it would make a bit more phonetic sense to me. :\ And that first chick has a strange mouth. Reminds me of anime.

"spread this like herpes" lol.

Like they did with KickAss (at least a few people)? Fuck that shit. If they are going to take issue with something, take issue with spread it like herpes.

I feel that touching her would give me both glitter and herpes.

When I called it the herpes of art supplies, that wasn't an endorsement. Also, Ke$ha is to drunk/high to do anything to me.

To me this seemed a bit try-hard. Making to much of an effort to be tough. Great message and idea, just could've been executed better.

I love this idea. You can have a million sensitive campaigns, but odds are that they won't get any attention. The best way to grab attention for anything is shock value, and this coupled with a very well-written paper might actually help to spread tolerance.

I think I still prefer George Takei calling the Arkansas guy a douchebag for execution of non-sensitive campaigning.

This.

The FCKH8 one is okay but the rest just seem really try hard, which is why I said the shirts sucked. The swearing was awesome though :P.

There are like a hundred websites that will put basically whatever you want on a t-shirt. Just saying.

Fuck hate. I love it.

Precaution has already been taken to safe-guard the all important indigo. By keeping people from knowing it even exists, the 7th color of the rainbow will be safe.

Also, "1 in 3 gay teens attempted suicide"? Either that number is a lie, or <snarky comment>*.

*Seriously, there is nothing even remotely humorous about bullying-related suicide. Please, no one make an attempt.

No, that's actually fact. Also, roughly 1 in 3 (I think it's 27%) of teen suicides are lgbt youth.

I think that that particular statistic may not necessarily be accurate, although numbers that are readily found/available are just as frightening.

As much as I too "h8" alphanumeric spelling, I'm guessing the ref to Proposition 8 does give symbolism to it.
