ITT: Describe yourself using TV Tropes.

Postby King Author » Fri Jun 04, 2010 11:42 am UTC

Come on, it'll be fun! Don't hold back -- and no calling people out for which Tropes they pick. If someone lists themselves as Woobie Destroyer of Worlds, let 'em. No griping about it or arguing over it.

As for me...
Alone in a Crowd (just in a general disconnect from people, not over some specific event)
Alternate Character Interpretation (Even I'm not sure whether I'm evil.)
Annoying Self Deprecation
As Long As There Is One Man (most of my friends think it's too late for America)
Born in the Wrong Century
Cake Eater
Conveniently An Orphan
Catch Phrase
Cowardly Lion
Curious as a Monkey
Doing it For The Art
Forgets to Eat (mo' like too lazy to get up and make sumthin')
Friend to All Living Things (I try to be, anyway.)
Gosh Dang It To Heck (actually I just rarely swear)
Growing the Beard (Iiterally)
Heterosexual Life Partners
Higher Self
Important Haircut
Ludd Was Right
Mediator (only in real life; online...)
Memento MacGuffin
Mr Imagination
Neutral Good
Never Got to Say Goodbye
Nice Guy
Precision F Strike (it's usually not "fuck," but the trope in general applies)
Red Oni Blue Oni (With my best friend. I'm blue.)
Ridiculous Procrastinator
Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness (bet anyone who knows me from around the boards is surprised this wasn't the first I posted)
Sniff Sniff Nom
Sophisticated as Hell (what do you mean, references to Thoreau aren't supposed to end with "bitchin'?")
Starving Artist
Stepford Smiler (which type? fufufu...)
Talking to the Dead
Team Dad/Mom (bits of both)
The Atoner
The Cassandra
The Heart
The Load
The Storyteller
The Only One Allowed to Defeat You (with my best friend -- I don't have an Arch Enemy)
What Do You Mean, It's Not Political

Edit: Added a few.
Edit Again: Aded a few more.

I think this thread would be more interesting with a little more explanation. I mean, can you claim 'catchphrase' without telling us what yours is? : p

I aspire to Refuge In Audacity (tell the truth so blatantly that everyone thinks you must be joking). I'm not sure I'm quite there yet.

I should probably come back to this...word salad humor (cheesy tuna bacon pickle?). I'm a big fan of camp.

This isn't fair. I have work to do. Can you desist from creating the more diverting threads for the next, say, week? Failing that, ban me.

Yeah, no.. this is a Monkey's Paw forum. Not in that we'll twist your wishes around, but if you make a wish, it'll come true though it's probably not at all what you actually wanted.

Also, <3 Hodge

Oh, right.

Never My Fault, Moral Dissonance and oddly enough, My Name Is. It astounds me how often people fuck up a simple surname.

It is a bad idea to send people into Tv tropes.
Even more cruel to let them find what suits their tastes.

Waaaaay to lazy to make links to the TVTropes pages, so I'll just say the titles.

Catchphrase (Have fun with that, Why don't we all just speak Quenya?!?)
Incredibly Lame Pun (I regularly say "I find this humerus!")

More to come later when I have time to think about this...

Brilliant But Lazy: I have great ideas that I start on and then quickly realize how much work they actually entail and then set them aside for later.
Consummate Liar: I've told lies that people haven't figured out yet. All my friends regret my being in drama club because they can no longer tell if I'm acting or telling the truth.
The Gadfly: People always ask me if I really believe what I'm saying, probably due to my Consummate Liar ability. Chances are I don't and I just want to see how people react, or to further the discussion.
The Piano Player: I'm that guy. The one who's at his instrument. Doing nothing else. Maybe stopping to eat or something, but only for like five minutes.
Straight Gay: More or less, although I am a fan of theater.
The Teetotaler: I don't really like drinking alcohol.

@whoever that was: My catchphrase is "how preposterous." I say it all the time. Humans just constantly do the most ridiculous things, and I point it out out loud before I can stop myself.

@whoever else: Uuahaha! I made a topic so fun, it got someone banned! I win the forum!

I'm too lazy to post the other tropes and link them. But I'll put this one on the basket.

Now that I've got a few hours to kill . . .

Nice Guy
Non Action Guy
Ridiculous Procrastinator (I was initially thinking Brilliant But Lazy, but that's probably not entirely accurate.)
Heterosexual Life Partners/Vitriolic Best Buds (Depending on the day and moods of people involved.)
Not So Stoic (Only every once in a while, like the trope says.)
Think Nothing Of It
Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness (Kind of a bad habit of mine, especially if I'm flustered or nervous.)
Gosh Dang It To Heck and Cluster F Bomb (Often within the same sentence - see xkcd 75.)
The Cassandra (Pretty frequently, as of late. Who predicted it would rain like hell this weekend? Me. Who believed me? Nobody.)
All Love Is Unrequited (Well, at the moment, anyway.)
Crowning Music Of Awesome (On a particularly good day. On a bad day, Dethroning Music Of Suck may happen instead.)
"There's never enough time to do all the nothing you want." - Calvin And Hobbes

I write about music and stuff. You know, just for fun. You can read what I write here: http://relativepitchmusic.blogspot.com

I looked at this thread and wondered why it only had 14 posts in however long it had been posted, but then I remembered that this thread links heavily to TV Tropes.
I'm Break the Cutie leading to Beware the Nice Ones, resulting in... not sure yet, actually.

Bad Ass Labcoat.
Brilliant but lazy; I was told by a friend that if I actually studied then I'd become omniscient.
Ridiculous procrastinator
Buffy speak. (I've also been accused of metaphorgotten but I don't use them that much.)
Deadpan snarker
Bi the Way
Sesquipedalian loquaciousness.

My god I started hours ago. That'll be all then.

Hmm.

I'm a somewhat badass bookworm, a would be science hero fighting for Team Enlightenment. At the moment, I'm fairly interested in training the peaceful villagers to fight megacorp-related evil.

In my free time, I'm a multiclass mediator/shepherd (for lack of a class that describes wanting to engage in productive conversation) prone to armchair psychology and/or rambling when I'm not focused and I've kinda run out of desire to keep surfing TVTropes for the day, amazing as that sounds, so I'm stopping here.
So, I like talking. So if you want to talk about something with me, feel free to send me a PM.

My blog, now rarely updated.

Brilliant but lazy (I like to think that it's not just lazy)
Ridiculous Procrastinator
Gosh Dang It To Heck (I tend to reserve the stronger curse words for times when they are appropriate)
The Sleepless
Alone in a Crowd
Either Affably Evil or Good is not Nice depending on my mood.

So, my friends picked out a trope for me some time ago, and I've not yet found an argument against it. Apparently I'm a Manic Pixie Dream Girl (and because of that, apparently a CloudCuckoolander too)

Otherwise:
RidiculousProcrastinator - so much...
ClusterFBomb - I've been told I "swear like a sailor"
TheTeetotaler - always have been,
Pollyanna - I've even been told I'm too happy.
Tomboy - Again, always have been.
AllGirlsWantBadBoys - I am SUCH a victim to this.
AfraidOfNeedles - The only thing I am squeamish about.
AllergicToRoutine - It drives people I know insane.
ForgetsToEat - I have to set alarms to remind myself it's lunchtime.
SheIsNotMyGirlfriend - Me and any of my male friends have to deal with this.
ImportantHaircut - I have changed my hair at every major thing in my life.
StarvingArtist - I will buy paper, then books, then food. That says a lot about me...
TheStoryteller - One of my favourite things about myself :)
Everybody has a secret world inside of them...No matter how dull and boring they are on the outside, inside them they've all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds. Not just one world. Hundreds of them. Thousands maybe.

I somehow managed to only take an hour to do this! I'm proud!

Straight Gay At least I think. Nobody's said anything yet, although one girl told me she likes me, which led to...
Sorry, I'm Gay, but in a legitimate way.
Ho Yay with almost every single one of my friends
Heterosexual Life Partners with a few of my friends
Gayngst more common recently
Deadpan Snarker
All Love Is Unrequited FAR too common
Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness Every now and then
Ridiculous Procrastinator (Insert comment later)
Nice Guy
The Sleepless
Sophisticated As Hell
Gosh Dang It To Heck in the meatosphere, but with a few Precision F Strikes and full on Cluster F Bombs for good measure.
Cloudcuckoolander sometimes
Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny! more ofte... what?
Look at me still talking when there's SCIENCE to do!

Bookworm
HeadphonesEqualIsolation
ManlyTears - The last episode of AIR and the Makoto arc in Kanon get me every time.
MyNaymeIs - Two very simple syllables. And yet most people around me manage to screw it up. Of course, it wouldn't be that much of a problem if they actually used my given name in conversation, rather than my surname.
RidiculousProcrastinator - Aren't we all?
TheSleepless
TheTeetotaler - I've never really understood why people feel compelled to go out and spend potentially large amounts of money to make themselves feel worse for wear.
Firelight holds their peace
Sing farewell by smoke in the cold
We farewell the old
As they fall to silence
