Even though the spelling isn't even close, I usually think it "Am I right, Phil?"
"There's spray paint on the teleprompter

Yeah, you're, obviously not the first, and obviously won't be the last. If I'd had a damn bit of sense I'd've put in dots. XD

(my father has a name that is traditionally female (despite his parents being traditional as all get out... come to think of it i should ask how that happened...), my mother has a relatively common name with a nonstandard pronunciation, and kids couldn't spell mine for waaaaaay too long. weird family obscure name curse?)

I've been pronouncing "The Scyphozoa" as "skit-zo-fo-uh." I know that is absolutely wrong. How is it supposed to be pronounced, anyway?

Well done, farnsworth, you managed to avoid putting a long i sound (as in psycho) into my name. That's close enough for me.

On the subject of amalgamated usernames, Ive been seeing voicedotter as "voice dotter", not "voiced otter", for a while now before I noticed his sig explaining otherwise (which, now that I think of it, has actually been there a while).

That minute, as in 60 seconds, and minute as in small were spelt the same.

I spent 14 years of my life not knowing. I'm an idiot.

You're messing with my brain...
I'm sure I knew how but I realised they were spelt the same when people pronounced the minute waltz by Chopin as minute while I thought it was minute because its nowhere near a minute long but is rather minute for a waltz. On that note, is the name of the waltz minute as in 60 seconds or minute as in small ?

The waltz is minuet (min-you-ett'). Sixty seconds is a minute (min'-itt). A small thing is minute (min-yoot' or mine-yoot').

So a minute minuet might be a minute long.

Oh, that waltz. My bad. (A minuet is not, in fact, a waltz, or so my brain now helpfully chimes in.)

Poxic is now obliged to speak for 60 seconds on the topic of "Things I've Never Noticed Before" without repetition, hesitation or deviation.

I'm sorry to let off on you like this, but back away slowly from that sentence. I'd take News Quiz or ISIHAC over JAM anyday. And what about Old Harry's game? Or Claire in the community? Hell, even the Milton Jones show is better.

I'm sorry, but JAM isn't up to anything when compared with those, let alone The Now Show, which is the best satire on any British airwave you care to mention.

Oh man, we used to play this at school. It was my favourite game, because I was a precocious little shit and more wordy than any of my classmates, and consequently the only child who could speak for a full minute on mundane things ("clipping your ear hair" was one of them). I remember, several years later, I was listening to some Just a Minute and my first thought was 'they're totally ripping off MY SCHOOL's game!' before thinking... hang on a sec*. Come to think of it, the teacher who ran the game had a passing semblance to Clement Freud...

Just realised spacebar = pause on YouTube. :0

Also, I am constantly being hit with realisations about the etymology of words. e.g. the 'vag' in 'vague' is the same as in 'vagabond' (from the Latin 'vagus' = wandering).

Additional example: When typing e.g. in this post I realised that the g. (short for grātiā = sake/thankfulness/favour) is the same word as in grace and ingratiate.

Edit: also gratuitous
"God works in mysterious and breathtakingly cruel ways."

Why the lines over the a's? How does exempli gratia contain the word sake/thankfulness/favour? I can almost see it, with 'I am doing you a favour, giving you an example', but only almost.
