I haven't looked at the counts of which came when, but my guess is they are being created in batches. Probably an hour or so of work to generate that days newpix.
What if they are building sand castles on the beach in front of a real castle? And the water that we see on the right is the moat surrounding the real castle and thats why there are no waves.

Perhaps a better explanation of the significance of a webcomic innovation which has in three days spawned its own religion might be in order.

Does it bother anyone else that we're discussing an event that is still happening as if it is ancient history? When each newpix is posted, it barely gets a post or two. I doubt people in Jesus' day sat around talking about the intricacies of his miracles and the basis of his following while he was turning water into wine next door.

Re: 1190: "Time"
So what would be the message of this new religion. What do we...um...what do we call ourselves? Newpixians? Anyway, what is the message?
In the beginning the Creator Randall brought forth and gave us Time. How many newpix ago was the creation of Time? In it he placed Meagan and Cueball. Together they began to make the world with the material given to them by the Creator. Cueball left. Meagan built. Cueball came back. They built together. Meagan left. Part of their world collapsed with her departure but Cueball persevered to finish what they started. With the work done, and alone, he had nothing left and departed. All that was left of Time was the Sandcastle for us to gaze upon. We continue to wait to see what is revealed. But in all that, what's the message?
We have seen the Castles.
We wait for it.

Yes. Flood the xkcd page with information about this particular strip and they will soon realize it should have its own article. I don't know if Wikipedia works that way - but surely it would serve the One True Comic to try?

Maybe if they had organized themselves Jesus could still be alive. Together we stand, divided we fall.
Also, there's still the better part of a newpix until the arrival of a newpix.

I'm glad you got rid of "join us." That, plus the cadence of the whole thing, was sounding rather too much like the Anon creed, IMO.
Might I suggest "we contemplate the Castles"?

Re: 1190: "Time"
On topic again, I think it is obvious that the comic will not end for several more newpix. We've been panning for 18 newpix and still haven't seen cueball or megan.

The creation of a new religion moderately frightens me.
The voice in the back of my head calling me a heretic frightens me more.

Didn't somebody figure out the rate it was panning at? That was really helpful. Too bad it was hidden by the flood of religious posts.
I'll go try to find it and then we can figure out when it should finish panning.

But really, can we please actually discuss the comic and be on topic?
The creation of a new religion moderately frightens me.
The voice in the back of my head calling me a heretic frightens me more.
Well, you see, the problem is that there hasn't been anything dramatic happen in the last 15 newpix or so. And we internet folk have short attention spans. So, we make a new religion.
...I'm sorry, you must be new here.

Re: 1190: "Time"
It still looks like there's over half the castle to pan over. If the comic continues on its current course it'll probably be panning all night.

Aaaaaaaaand back to the actual comic itself. I still am hoping for Black Hat and an army of Red Spiders.
