Ok, I admit it. I ken not hwæt this internet-giving thing means.

When someone made a very convincing argument or great post on a forum people would say: "You win this thread", humorously implying that the discussion was a game and that the purpose with all communication is winning. As the meme took hold inflation started. Someone would say: "Great post, I think you just won the entire forum" more inflation and it became: "Wow, you just won the internet". This sentence can of course also be understood as if the internet was a thing that can be owned, and was a price won. Of course the inflation means that people "win the internet" all the time. Obviously there must be many of these internets for them to be won all the time. Somebody made a page for people to count how many times they achieved this. The inflation is now complete with "winning the internet" being reduced to getting people to click a button. Primis has won the internet some 700 times (or rather won 700 internets) for making the autoupdating gif.

Basically it is like "likes" on facebook.
