And yes AionArap, I reckon we woll call this Things that are on my side for 600, Alex! the age of the LongPix

Not to nitpick but last night we established darkpix as the time frame where anewpix was expected but did not arrive

No, but it's been dead-on every half-hour consistently for the past five days (with a minor hiccup last night). This is the second time in a row it failed to update on the half-hour, so I'm going to guess that it's on purpose.

Its hard to cede tthe point as darkpix was my ccreation but you are right, they were only dark because it was such a shift, if its expected its not dark just long

and helper, I was wondering about a decay rate over time that extended the time between newpix over the next few months

I purpose that a single missed Newpix be called a Darkpix then, but multiple in a row like now, were we receive a newpix at the top of the earth hour a longpix.

Guys, guys, guys
We need to start specifying time as "n=npix", such as n=1pix or n=2pix, where the amount of time is given by 1 newpix raised to the the power n, such that
* n=1pix is equal to 1 newpix
* n=2pix is equal to 2 newpix
* n=3pix is equal to 4 newpix

And so on.

LongPix nor DarkPix exist unless you are viewing from an outsider's perspective. In which case I suggest you get out of this thread.

In the event where outsider time speeds up relative to our constant NewPix unit of time, this indicates warping of spacetime.
This phenomenon could be called Picwarping.
Therefor, I propose that these frames which are affected by Pixwarp, are to be called WarpPix.

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family Anatidae on our hands. –Douglas Adams

Ok, I'm lost

So Time is still updating? Or what's going on? Why did the title change for the thread?

I am so confused and I blame all of you for some ill defined reason

In the event where outsider Things that be on my side for 600, Alex! speeds up relative to our constant fortnight unit of Things that be on my side for 600, Alex!, this indicates warping of spacetime.
This phenomenon could be called Picwarping.
Therefor, I propose these frames affected by Pixwarp, to be called WarpPix.

I swear, I just got the baddest deja vu I have ever experienced from reading that stake.

no kidding, and deja vu bring up that whole how do you say Trebuchet tangent.

I'll second this one, and add on a rider that the new Era be known henceforth* as the WarpPix Era.

I also disagree with the Longpix naming. Newpix have not changed. They cannot change. They are a fundamental constant.

All we know now is that the ratio between Newpix and Outside-Time is not constant, likely the result of a spontaneously broken symmetry. Perhaps we can use this to better understand the quantum nature of Outside, but that still does not alter the nature of Newpix.

It's still updating, but only once every hour now. The title changed because of THE RECKONING. Look it up. And it's alright, you can blame me <3.

Oh well. At least we still have our sandcastle.

And the change will be 1 pixel darkening on the Ocean or maybe a small change in the sandcastle. It will be years before we see another significant change

We view into the Pix universe through a wormhole originating from the Outside. The reason our view is sutured into Newpix is do to the amount of energy required to open said wormhole only grants a small flicker of light/information to pass though.

Edit: So what is happening is due to the increase of power usage during the weekend it takes long to charge up the wormhole.

As far as the hats go, I think it's safe to say that I'm pretty well set. Unless my hat, pre-dating Time itself, needs a hat of its own??

For reference, I'm using the terminology from the Wikipedia geologic time scale article, and given that Periods is already pretty well established, that leaves us only Eras and Eons for larger units to contain them.
P.S. I am Randall, but not that Randall.
We can rebuild it. We have the technology. We can make it better than it was. Better … stronger … well, maybe not faster.
Well, BlitzGirl is experiencing a bit of a title wave.

Standardizing a longpix as two newpix would provide nice symmetry with outsider time measurements

And we can't have that.

I agree, if its not convoluted and confusing what are we even doing here?

What will we do if there is no newpix at the hour change?
