Well, we ken not the scale in which the comic be drawn. For all we ken, Megan could be tall 5000 km. Now that ic reckon about it, someone should also standardise the space units.

did we not sort out units here
http://forums.xkcd.com/viewtopic.php?p=3313435#p3313435

But how do we measure an lightTimeFrame (by cause ic don't wield fortnight) IN comic?

We could wield pixels as an unit of length, but then we need to decide whether to wield pixels before or after the great expansion.

ic wonder how many old pixels there be in an new pixel.

From measuring the width of the structure at the end of the First Rebuild Period and comparing to the width of the same structure as of the "Wanna Swim?" frame. I get a ratio of 291 old pixels to 158 new pixels.
I suggest that we use 1 old-pixel (or pixel) as the base unit of length and accept 1 post-expansion-pixel (or pepixel) = 291/158 pixels as a derived unit.

How about flag lengths? For post pan-and-zoom measurements, of course.

Phew ... <delurk> started reading this thread when it was "only" 70-odd pages long. Finally reached the end.

I spent ages looking for something meaningful in the image before I thought to check the forum, and found you all in full flow. I've not encountered The Madness before... You've had some fun!

I think that's entirely coincidental, the sand just is happening to heap up in a dome shape as she builds whatever it is. Nevermind noticed the file name. It is definitely an enormous woman's breast.

I must admit, I was wondering when preparing that whether my filename would show up, or if it would be reassigned some arbitrary hash of a filename (like, say, a 64 character SHA256, where have we seen that?) after upload. I kind of didn't expect that to show up, but I'm not displeased that it did.

Well I tried doing an SHA256 of the image earlier and it didn't give me the filename, so it's either not sha or it's a hash of only part of the data.

Hmm...there's a new idea. We have seen the tide of ensemenatedcoffeebabycancerjuice is rising, so a floodwall would definitely be showing some foresight.

Of course, sand isn't the best water-repelling material. Quite bad, actually. Which might lend credence to the "It's not a beach!" ideas.

Also, obligatory global warming interpretation.
