This ending in a loop would make sense.

Maybe we'll zoom out soon, and find out that the castles we've been looking at for the past 380-ish newpix are in fact miniature castles themselves, on top of even bigger castles.

I dunno i don't think he would have bothered with the swimming if that was the cause.

Dammit, Cueball, I thought we made this clear: No recursing!

Having caught up with the One True Thread for now, I just want to say that Smithers' "Model Rail" reference was clearly much more relevant than and superior to my own "recursing". Not to mention earlier, but I hadn't seen it yet at that point.
P.S. I am Randall, but not that Randall.

Now that he's out of the way, it's a confirmed recursion. I guessed he'd go over to the right to start work on the right side castle, and boom, he does.

Question is: Will we get closure on the river/in-her-mouth/gone-off-to-the-side/trebuchet mysteries before the fraction* recursion begins?

Is it for sure recursive miniatureness? It seems to me, based on Aubron's excellent work, that the castle builders appear smaller sometimes when they're working on this area of the castle. I think they're working further away from us, and that's why Cueball seems to be working so slowly and also why things are so little.

For a while it was really exciting and I was going to apply for cardinal as well (even though I've never been that active and mostly lurking), but at this point I really want to finally close those three tabs (Time, forum, aubronwood) that have been open for so long now.

In complete honesty, (no false intensity here) I have come to quite enjoy reading the conversations and meandering discussion which accompany the comic, not to mention the comic itself (which, while slow, provides and insightful backdrop to the day-to-day routine which I follow on the Outside, between reading this thread)

He clearly never read Model Rail

Beaten.

You mean I was beaten to this post? Post a link or quote or something. Or were you about to post the same but beaten by this? I don't even know.
It looks like I was about a timeframe too early, anyway; everyone's all over the nesting theory now.

I was going to post that, both the idea and the link to Model Rail. I was beaten.

How does one quote multiple posts into one reply? Did I miss that in the FAQ?

Hit quote for one post, copy the contents of the reply box to the clipboard or a text editor, hit back in the browser, quote the other post and paste the copied text back in. If you make sure to use the preview button to check you did it right, then you do things like ending the quote block too soon and moving my text outside the quote and into your own block. Also you can use multiple browser tabs instead of a text editor.

Indeed, there are two experiences relevent to the One True Comic. The first is The Comic itself, the second is The Thread. Neither alone can tell the complete story. Although information passes only from the former to the latter1, each is integral to the other.

1You can try it if you like but you'd far better not'a.

D'oh, work for it. Thank you. I was trying things like shift-quote-click, alt-quote-click, ctl-quote-click ... none of which were working.
