Which things on top of which thingy? There are towers, turrets, crenellations, flags, and the scale model of the whole scene to choose from.

Added: BTW, the model is about 1/8 scale, so nowhere even close to HO or H0. It will have a much higher Matryoshka limit, about 2.1 times greater either way.

So, now does he have to change his model?

That would be the scale model of the whole scene that he's building on top of the central tower.

... The model pretty much looks like being about 1:7 scaled, indeed.

With the sand castle being about 2 m tall (initial guess), the main tower of the real thing would be something about 14 m.

The "main tower" of Neuschwanstein (strange thing it is, a staircase tower several floors higher than the top floor) is about 65 m tall.

Did Megan pick a very little castle for modelling her own, or didn't Cueball care about Matryoshka comliant scales?

I just realized - this comic DOES reflect Randall's life. It shows that he doesn't know what he's going to do with the comic and is making Cueball walk randomly and trying to make us feel intrigued.

I don't think the recursion theory will prove out to be the finale, it will miss out on a very Randall-esq payoff for all the other hints dropped. His comics always have a poignant punch to them, even the somber and light ones have a certain quality of satisfaction for the setup. To that end, I think the miniatures of the castles on top of the center castle is just a small punch payoff for the gag of Cueball taking so long with the top, messing it up and trying to fix it.

I am also thinking Randall is playing a social experiment with us, just HOW LONG will we continue to follow this, as he slows down the speed of pain change in each frame.

AND, I do think there is an underlying link between EXTERNALATIES and TIME, but not as large of a conspiracy as previously speculated. In his random exploration he got piqued on hashing, and got the idea that he could make a changing comic and by hashing the file-names could prevent the fans from hacking to see the future, which got him on the idea of hacking a hash could be a fun contest as part of a comic, then proceeded to set up both, multitasking them (aside: He had to have gotten permission from wikipedia to allow his fans to hammer the servers creating/editing pages at a record pace and risk crashing the server)

Time to resume waiting for it ....
