Nice graph!

And yet it is concerning that she is appears to asymptotically approach the "Now" -- perhaps, like Zeno, she will never intersect with us in the present, but shall only reach an approximation of "now" that is outside our own universe?

Yes that is a bit concerning. Also you may note the ever increasing regularity of her posts. If this trend continues, which I'm sure it will, then eventually she will reach hard limit of 40 posts per page. From that point on there will be nothing but BlitzGirl! If this is good or bad may be decided by future historians.

It'll become a Blitzgirl Threadological Singularity. Then all bets are off for the future of Time itself.

Ok I've got some really bad news!

By my calculation based on the regularity of BlitzGirls updates I've found we will reach Blitzgirl Threodological Singularity around page 372!

BlitzGirl will both be our savior and our destroyer!

I have emerged briefly from toiling in the dark depths of the pit* to find I am 7 pages behind. Or 8, I lost count. Frantic reading has only gotten me two pages ahead. Makes me fear for Blitzgirl's ever reaching the end...but I am left with some burning questions:

Who are Alice and Bob, and why are they shooting each other?

When did we get an Eastern Paradox Church? As Transcendental Imaginator or the Western Paradox Church I am concerned about this development, mainly because it makes it SO hard to keep track...

And a larger question, something I've been pondering for a while now: When Lord Randall started the OTC, did he have this story all worked out? Or is it evolving and developing as Time progressing? Not that I want to start a creationism vs evolution discussion. Or do I?

I return now to the pit to labor further, but hope to return and perhaps join you all in the future present. Or is it the present future?

To paraphrase the great author Douglas Adams, we may constitute a sorry case, but we don't make threads in base 13.
Does anybody have any idea of what the hell energy is? It's the thing that, when applied to something, gives itself to the thing so that the thing can expend it, applying it to other things in multiple forms of it. What the hell is it?

Re: 1190: "Time"

Postby Latent22 » Sun Apr 14, 2013 2:00 am UTC

Does anyone know how I would go about exporting the posting date and time of the messages in this thread. Guess one way would be to write a script to download each page and parse out the date from the first post on each page but doesn't sound like an easy task. Their may be a much easier way on this forum to export post data.

I was going to use that data to map out what forum page each newpix was released. This data would then let me modify the Book of Time templates so that each page/newpix references back to the forum page it was discussed with a number and a link. This would help with deciding what to put in the Book of Time easier but would also be a great way to allow people to jump back into the point they are looking for in the Forum without doing lots of searching.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Edit: I do remember someone must have already exported this data once a hundred pages ago when they did a graph of post history over time but I'm not sure who it was and when they posted it.

Edit2: ok found Kieryn posted the graphs before. I may try PM'ing them in the hope of learning some of his masterly ways.

Wear it well.

My God...it's full of stars...

Is it now.

I suppose that's nice and all, but nothing beats the Monolith Hat...

Image

Give it to HAL. :D

So it is written, so it shall be done.

Well, it would be, if I could. I'll attach the file I used for my avatar, if someone else would be so kind to attach the hat for me (I am lacking a program capable of removing multicolored backgrounds)

You know not what you ask! And yes, I'll do it.

Right. Ask and ye shall receive.

BIG HAT FOR HAL2.jpg
Ninja'd by my liege, but hey, another version if you feel like a little variety...

Image

Very nice. And perfectly avatar-sized, too! I think I'll switch to this one, and keep Buffygirl's in reserve in case I want some variety.
Note: deleted and reposted to see if that fixes the display issues. Fun with spoilers!

Classy. Now all you need is a tuxedo, a cane, and you can perform "Daisy" at a ritzy amphitheater. If only you had a body.
