It's possible there were flame wars these last few NewPages but they'd be hard to spot on account of it's all blarghblarhblarghcodedblarghetyblarghblargh

Assuming an average of 1 minute passes in newpixia per newpix observed by the squatters-who-read-this-thingy-pulled-by-a-needle-with-a-knot-at-the-other-end, almost 12 hours have passed in Megan & Cueball's world. At my nearby beach, the tide would have risen a lot more and receded again. So we can strike the guess that this is taking place at an earth shore or harbor.

Possibilities: inland landlocked sea that is slowly flooding the surrounding land.
a different world with a smaller moon and a longer period of rotation
they are a zoo exhibit and the zoo keeper forgot to turn off the hose after washing down the exhibit windows.
?????
1298 and counting

But also, most likely, if it had been 12 hours, it would've been darker towards either the beginning or the end*, assuming an Earth-like rate of rotation, and that they reside on a round body spinning near a light source, etc. etc. So, could be they're just very fast builders, and it's been rather less than one min/np.

* Added: By "the end", I really meant "the present". Mea maxima culpa; I'll go do my penance now.
P.S. I am Randall, but not that Randall.
We can rebuild it. We have the technology. We can make it better than it was. Better … stronger … well, maybe not faster.
Well, BlitzGirl is experiencing a bit of a title wave.

DAMN YOU! I have successfully been lurking since the beginning of Time (from frame 1|2|4, they look kinda alike...) and had to make a quick answer, but by the time I had my account registered and my answer ready I noticed I'd already would have been multiply pre-post-ninja'd1 since this message will probably take its sweet time to get approved...

Well, now I'm here and since anyone can be Pope nowadays I have to settle for the cardinality that is reserved for lurkers like me. I do get a hat, don't I?

I guess I have to settle for a hat. And wait for it.

1 You misspelled, and I'm the first to point that out, aren't I? That counts for something, right? Right?... right.

I did notice that you didn't solve it, though :P

Well, you could give us a minute. Plus, I hope you noticed in the first post that you missed a C in "Encrypted" ;)

I was listening to an internet 80s radio station on accuradio.com when suddenly I heard this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OB2YyAgg9Z4
Are there stars in our future?

TIME / ALAN PARSONS PROJECT

Writer(s): ALAN PARSONS, ERIC WOOLFSON
Artist: Alan Parsons Project

Time, flowing like a river
Time, beckoning me
Who knows when we shall meet again
If ever
But time
Keeps flowing like a river
To the sea

Goodbye my love,
Maybe for forever
Goodbye my love,
The tide waits for me
Who knows when we shall meet again
If ever...

...
Spoiler:
But time
Keeps flowing like a river (on and on)
To the sea, to the sea

Till it's gone forever
Gone forever
Gone forevermore

Goodbye my friends,
Maybe forever
Goodbye my friends,
The stars wait for me
Who knows where we shall meet again
If ever
But time
Keeps flowing like a river (on and on)
To the sea, to the sea

Till it's gone forever
Gone forever
Gone forevermore

Less a typo and more a forum formatting thing. Sorry bout that. I'll go back and edit it to prevent anyone else from having issues...

She dreams that she wakes up, shakes sandman dust from her eyes and the nightmare of frantic activity taking place at glacial speed together with absurd conversations which have become our waking lives plays itself out. We can't figure anything out because it's a sleep induced hallucination.

Ok, to me THIS is Occam's Razor. It would account for ... well, basically everything. This gets my vote!

Also: StratPlayer, you are starting to sound an awful lot like an old college buddy of mine...

Show of hands, who is old enough to remember when this song came out and have an emotional memory attached to it? Besides me, I mean? It came out when I was 13, and I remember listening to it on a train from Thurso to London as we were moving back to the States. *sigh* Almost posted it yesterday.

The other song I haven't seen posted is more depressing, though it is one of my all time faves: From DSOTM, Lyrics by Roger Waters:
Time
Spoiler:
Ticking away the moments
That make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours
In an off-hand way

Kicking around on a piece of ground
In your home town
Waiting for someone or something
To show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine
Staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long
And there is time to kill today

And then the one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
You missed the starting gun

And you run and you run
To catch up with the sun
But it's sinking

Racing around
To come up behind you again

The sun is the same
In a relative way
But you're older

Shorter of breath
And one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter
Never seem to find the time

Plans that either come to naught
Or half a page of scribbled lines

Hanging on in quiet desperation
Is the English way

The time is gone
The song is over
Thought I'd something more to say

Don't think it is as fitting to TOTC as the Alan Parsons' song.
