It was indeed called that Time would fade in to a new scene with M&C on their journey. It just wasn't a fade in at all... kind of an abrupt "Here you go! Part 2!"

I wonder what La Petite is doing to the sandcastles.

Hooray hooray hooray my slim hopes were unexpectedly not dashed yay!
Yes I should be halfway through my coma but I happened to wake and figured I might as well read all the newpages to see if the end had come. And I'm so happy it has not, and also happy It didn't take an equal amount of Time to fade back in.
Also, wow so much yummy food! But I better get back to my coma.

If that's true it won't be for at least another Outside Month, I'd guess. Prepare for this thread to reach 1,000 newpages.

My prediction is that one of them (probably q-bert^H^H^Hall) will soon trip over one of the little nubs we see here. They haven't exactly proven to be the most graceful of characters...

Long time lurker on this thread. First comment. I hadn't been following every newpix but checked in periodically and happened to catch the last frame before fade-out. Now I am hooked again.

Had to throw another Black and White song in the mix.

I'm so glad that the OTC is interesting, Though I'm sure if Randall had posted the equivalent of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhoOFLSIjGg frame by frame, we would still be watching and commenting pretty much the same.

So Megan and Cueball are out walking... Where to? Coming from the beach, or going to it?

So Where Are We Going?

"Tell me, where are we going?
Oh, what's the future showin'?
Oh, where are we headed?
With all that's goin' on where are we gettin'?

Day in, day out
A little boy and girl are goin' out
Day by day baby's babies are born
Day by day people say, "Right on"

Tell me, where are we going'?
Oh oh, what's the future showin'?
Oh, where are we headed?
With all that's goin' on where are we gettin'?"

EDITED to give a better version of the song on You Tube...

Lurking from the beginning of Time, I have silently waited for IT along side the rest of you, eagerly anticipating each Newpix, following the travels of the esteemed BlitzGirl from the past to the present. I felt a great sadness come over me when all faded to white, leaving everyone wondering if the OTC had truly come to an end. I rejoice to find it not be the case as Time marches on. Time is big (like the sea) and flowing (like the river). I decided to finally make my presence known and give unto you my prophecy - Time will end and the waiting for IT will be reached at Newpix 1190, at which Time the great Randall will reveal all and the waiting will cease.

We know they are going to do science to learn more about the rising water. They are expecting more rivers for the extra water.
So, they could just walk until they reach rivers, but that wouldn't be the whole story.

I think they are going to dig a well, to sea how high the groundwater is. Maybe analyze the mud.
Or they could indeed keep walking, and we have the little humps to detect a panning camera. My money is that both things will happen, but I have no idea on the order of events.

Time just goes on and on and on, in parallel to the real world and the comic. I hope it won't end for a while. There is a lot to happen and infinite possibilities. Memories fade and new ones come. And thousands of questions.

Wait for it. And see what happens. That is the basis of Time.

Okay, the black and white songs were tackled by people much brighter than I, but I found a song I liked that still fits the theme, I think. :)
Spoiler:
Both Sides, Now
(with utmost respect for Joni Mitchell)

Poles in holes set everywhere
Lift tall Sandcastles in the air
And Megan shaking off her hair
I've looked at Time that way
But now away the Duo runs
Leaving us puzzled, every one
So much construction left undone
And yet they didn't stay

I've looked at Time from both sides now,
The black and white, and still somehow
Each newpix still leaves me in thrall
I really don't know Time at all

Toons, typhoons, and graphed ideals
The dizzy wandering makes you reel
As into Present Time you steal
I've looked at posts that way
But now I'm part of the whole show
Not just a pilgrim Now, you know
Into the future I must go
Let the past slip away

I've looked at posts from both sides now,
From here and then, and still somehow
Each newpage still leaves me in thrall
I really don't know threads at all

Tears and fears, the Waiting crowd
Shout "It's not over!" right out loud
Streams and beams made us feel proud,
we've looked at Time that way
But now the Pair are open range
And we all wonder what will change
But still it seems a fair exchange
The Fading's gone away!

We've looked at Time from both sides now,

As the only member of the One TRUE Church of Time1, I come forth as a representative to welcome BlitzGirl to the present(s). (I was actually awake and reading the thread when the convergence occurred, but haven't been able to post until now.)

Excuse me a second, can I grab one of those bagels?

Now, where was I? Oh right, When you start your prophesied work of bringing about the religious singularity, uniting the schisms, with regard to the character others have called "Le Petit", we request to be allowed to keep calling her The Great Pixie. It is our one true belief5

[preach]...and to those who profess to believe in BlitzGirl as the fulfillment of prophecy, I say woe to you who have been lured away from your faith by the promise of haberdashery! Does none of you find it suspicious that their pope, Helper, has disappeared and some Cardinal has quietly seized power, bringing you all under the spell of a finely turned hat??[/preach]

(My those hats DO look nice though.)

1 Our one belief is the use of "NewPixies" as the plural of NewPix 2
2 also TimeFrames is heretical3 (being a word the Outsiders use)
3 Our TWO beliefs are that "Newpixies" is the proper plural, that "TimeFrames" is heretical, and the castles are made for pixies.4
4 Our THREE beliefs are... can we start over?
5 damn!

Ingenue
(with total admiration for Thom Yorke)

You know like the back of your hand
Who let me in
You got me into this fora so
I never want out.

You know like the back of your hand
Our La Petite.
Our Newpixtion.
Ingenue.

You get me into this fora.
Fools rushing in, yeah,
And we Wait for It.

The sands of the big sea you know blow away.
In good time, I hope, I pray.
If I'm not there now physically,
I'm always there post coma
Come what may.

And you know it.
Fools rushing in
Well you know it.
Who let them in?

Well you know it
Gone with a touch of White
Gone with a touch of White
Move through the moment
Though it betrays
Transformations
Cancer babies and bags
If I knew now
What I knew then
Just give me more Time
I hope and pray
M&C mistake all they say
As the sands of the big sea blow them away.

Streams and beams made us feel proud,
we've looked at Time that way
But now the Pair are open range
And we all wonder what will change
But still it seems a fair exchange
The Fading's gone away!

We've looked at Time from both sides now,
From Fade and not, and still somehow
Each TimeFrame still leaves us in thrall
We really don't know Time at all

We've looked at Time from both sides now,
From hope and dread, and still somehow
Each TimeFrame still leaves us in thrall
We really don't know Time at all

Very, very nice! *applause* :D

Excellent work, BlitzGirl!

(and it's still kinda weird to have you here in the present. But weird in a really nice way, of course.)

I wonder what triggered that :?:

oooh. The original looks like that too? Was that retroactive?!

Edit:
Ooooh.. Just tried to open it in photoshop and it opens as a white square with black borders!?

Edit 2:
And an invalid ICC profile.. this is somewhat interesting.

Edit 3: On my phone it just looks like a white square instead of a warped rainbow stripe-y thing. Odd.

Edit 4: Tried on Chrome this time and it looks fine again.

Edit 5: And back on non-mobile Safari it's a rainbow stripe-y thing.. hmm

I really wish they won't find a sea and sit by it. I don't want this to loop now.

I come directly from newpage 350 and I was wondering... what the hell is happening!? Who was the "berret girl"? Maybe BlitzGirl while travelling in the past of the thread lost the way and got inside the comic? (BTW, I get she caught up with the thread, CONGRATULATION!) Is BlitzGirl the new Pope/Mope/Mome (other than Blessed and maybe Saint (I don't know if she has mantained her mental sanity))? Was the "whitening" of the OTC a nuclear bomb (thrown by a trebuchet used by a raptor) or simply a bad transition?

Kieryn wrote:The Post Cueball and Megan Era was not quite an Era...

maybe it should be merged into the Enlightenment Era?

Or alternatively, The Fading could be split into three periods- Fourth Age of the Slow Pixel (before the fading started), The Fading, and The Return of LaPetite.
