No recursion. BlitzGirl (if she hasn't forsaken her title, as it has disappeared from her enormous listing of well-deserved honors), is BlitzGirl the First. She is the first BlitzGirl the First, and also the only one that can ever be. Now, BlitzGirl the First is a title; so using it as a prefix, she could be "BlitzGirl the First" BlitzGirl. So...

BlitzGirl the First BlitzGirl, the first BlitzGirl the First is the only BlitzGirl who is a BlitzGirl the First.

Oh good. Perhaps I have been buffaloing too many Buffalo buffalo, but that sentence made perfect sense to me!

And I know a lot of people here are going to force themselves to read it regardless. So... devil's dilemma, much? (It doesn't help my individual cause that my writing style isn't as witty or fluid as that of some of you. I'm a CompSci guy with a stereotypical CompSci guy's language awkwardness. And I'm painfully aware that makes my walls heavy reading.)

Your writing sounds good to me. I welcome your contrasting style. Not everyone can be a goofball or punmaster or witmeister. That might get old. :) And yeah, some of us will try to read it regardless of relevance to ourselves (because who knows if that's true or not).

Not sure if they stripped some leaves from it, or if it's just swaying in their wake. There does seem to be an overall reduction in dark pixels (that would be red).

Looks very much to me like Megan picked a few leaves or something. Given that the "tree" is about the right size, shape and height for a Rosemary bush (which would also naturally grow not far from the Sea!) I'd also pick a few leaves and sniff at them. (And frequently do.)

Sooo... where's the OTT reference to the new What-If? Will Cueb produce a guitar out of his backpack?
If yes, what's he about to sing? Hava Nagila*?

Again, I am not a ROOTTist, but since making connections is so much fun, I like this quote:

Randall wrote:And if playing music helps the astronauts relax and keep from going crazy while they’re crammed together in a tin can for months at a time, it’s probably a worthwhile investment.

The difference is, we were already crazy long before the song parodies started. If only we had a healthy dose of music pre-Madness, this could have been a completely sane thread! (The horror!)

Finally caught up, probably cause most everybody is coma-ing1. A few comments...
1. Unless they're traveling in a slow arc, they've got quite a ways to go if they ever want to get home. They've already traveled further than they have before, and that was near the beginning of this long walk...
2. For anyone nostalgic about rogue-likes (I wore out my share of keyboards playing nethack) you should check out Desktop Dungeons - its totally different, but not 2. Its great for people who no longer have the time for a deep crawl...
B. Azule's hat - I didn't notice it either, and I'm ashamed. That painting is a favorite of one of my friends, so I'm quite familiar with it.
Q. The autocorrect on my phone makes more typos than it fixes

1that doesn't look right - what is the correct pp tense for 'coma'
2just check it out, its neat
3nothing to see here, the other 2 footnotes were lonely

Consolation, mebbe? I'm trying to figure out the action of a "consolidation" donator........

Consolidation donator is someone giving away a steam locomotive with a two-wheeled front truck, eight driving wheels, and no rear truck.

Clearly what he is saying is guys don't whine if you offer them a free steam locomotive.

Edit: Note that the rule is that if someone uses a word and your not sure what they mean by it you must always choose the least likely option.

You can always go back and re live it: http://forums.xkcd.com/viewtopic.php?p=3302369#p3302369

We will see you back here once you have re blitz your way back to the present again.

I may be nostalgic, but I'm not that nostalgic. It's going to take at least a couple hundred more newpages for me to fully recover from one Quest!

N.B. Although I'm heading to the coast later this week, it's a shingle beach so unfortunately I can't have a go myself :(

Well, straying into forbidden waters, or the fluid of your choice, is it heretical to believe in such a thing as "Overtime" ? Because, well, YAY BRUINS!

Before that I just hung out on the school's mainframe (Moria on the VAX, anyone?) But the first one I bought myself was one of the original Macs, upgraded to 512k, then later upgraded to the double-sided floppy drive, and then later I added an external GIGANTIC 10 Meg hard drive. The original Macs just had the floppy. Why would you EVER need more storage than can fit on a floppy disk???

Moria?! Wow, that takes me back. I played all of those rogue-like games: rogue, nethack, larn, and yes, moria.

I think I still have a version of nethack installed on this laptop.

Since we're talking about old computers now, my first computer was a Sinclair Timex 1000 - 1K memory, just about to hold one short page of DOS programming. It really taught one to be frugal with code.

My first computer was a Digi-Comp One. Recently rediscovered and rehabbed into functionality.

Edit: do I get anything special for grabbing not only the first but also the second post on a NewPage?
