Although not in the game format, I'm working on that, I can't resist posting a favourite story the current newpix reminds me of.
When George Bush took over from Clinton, Clinton staffers amused themselves by removing the W keys from the keyboards of the White House computers, as a reference to Dubya Bush. They hid them, taping them under chairs, on the ceiling above the PC etc. One Bush staffer was interviewed and said something along the lines of " I was lucky, my PC still had a W. When I saw what they had done I said "Wow", the other guys just said "O"."

First; no matter what, The Map will need to be updated. (Great Mapping Skills)
Second; it looks like they have reached the highest point yet and are seeing the Pretty Neat River# in all it's glory, or they might also be seeing a village or town of the "Campfire People" (and have never seen something that large); or possibly both.
Third; if it is a different tribe, I wonder how they will be shown?

# smaller than the big sea...I just can't think of the approved footnote numbers...but I digress (BID)

Ebonite wrote:In case you hadn't noticed, my avatar is a clear bowling ball with a skull embedded inside. "Ebonite" is actually the name of a bowling ball company. I'm not affiliated with the company in any way; I just happen to be a competitive bowler. I used the name "Ebonite" for a D&D character many, many years ago, and have since re-used it as a character name, username, or avatar name for many purposes since.

The moment you mentioned your avatar was a bowling ball, I immediately started wondering:
Are you carried around by your daughter (the one with green streaks in her hair and who's trying to avenge your death)?
The one who hangs around with those Mystery Men?

Spoiler:
The Blue Raja: Sorry, but am I to understand you've inserted your father's skull inside of that ball for bowling?
The Bowler: No, the guy at the pro shop did it.

The Bowler: [to her father's skull, after avenging his death] OK, now I'm going back to graduate school. That was the agreement.

Also I noticed this bit of trivia:
The bowler's skull ball was a custom ball. After the release of the movie, bowling ball manufacturer Ebonite made a less-detailed version of the skull ball as part of their Super Fun Ball line.

@ AluisioASG, great beginning with the Last Time Waiter.
You said this was inspired by Asimov's Last Question, but you hadn't read it yet. (Suggestion: if you haven't read it yet, don't until after you're finished. But here's a link to a pdf version: http://perseo.sabuco.com/ingles/eloy/1b ... estion.pdf

Oh thank Randall I am safe.....for now.

Well, we could always try a few variants, just as an experiment. What if nobody posted for, say 4 newpix? Would that be the end of *ONGs? (we'd still all be waiting for it because that can, oddly enough, happen in pixtime and realtime).

Meanwhile, I'll consider time as a helix of semi-precious stones.

otherwise, bravo.

Thanks!

My song is filled with metrical, um, variations, as was the original. McLean sung it very well to cover the missing/extra syllables everywhere, even fiddling with the melody when required (e.g. "O-oh, but we never got the chance"). Your version is better, if "and kept" is squeezed onto one beat, putting the emphasized first syllable of "working" in the right place on the beat. That is, if you were actually singing it. Reading it, though, one might instead still assume the beat was on "kept" and then stumble over the "extra" syllable later. Better still would be to find an iambic substitute for "working" -- that's the real problem, a trochee where an iamb should be -- but I didn't come up with one. :)

ETA: Okay, I'm using your solution but also removing the extra syllable "and," averting the secondary problem, and fixing the sentence structure to make the "and" unnecessary by changing "stayed" to "still" in the previous line. Thanks again!

Besides, I haven't travelled alone yet, and am not sure I want to. Forget safety, who am I going to gush with about seeing cool things?

?Yes, the roads. One image had snow and buildings, another had a lake, but it was the roads that called to me. I don't even know.

When you look down a road that bends in the distance, do you prefer one that bends to the left or to the right?

Hmm, good question. I prefer long stretches of road, but I suppose, curving to the right. We drive on the left side of the road, and I don't actually drive, so curving to the right gives the best views out the passenger window, on the left.

One that bends up.

Can I change my answer? Because, higher altitude = better views.

To the right. I suspect it's related to which side the steering wheel is on though... and/or which side of the road I drive on.

Why did I think only of walking? You Children of Henry Ford!

In the context of walking, I definitely prefer bending down, as long as I don't have to walk back up it later.

So... they're on an island? This looks like the Adansonia Grandidieri1 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adansonia_grandidieri), only to be found in Madagascar. And all this time we've been thinking about inland seas2...

@Rule110 - re The Sandcastles High (Part 1): I just want to add my kudos to you for that splendid adaptation - syncopation and all! The syncopation in the original is great, adding even more variety and life to an epic song, and you have done a great job preserving the feel of it. This should be recorded!

I though the same thing... but if they were huffing and puffing and looking down, I suppose they could have missed it. And if they were full grown molpys, I think I'd be getting worried right about now.

I think they found enough wood to make a raft and a home...

Um. Haven't checked, but looking at the angles, they really ought to have seen those trees way before they got to the top of the hill... Can someone do a stitch?

I think they could have but the last few backgrounds they have been in they have been busy looking at where to put there feet, but the newpix before megan says "wow" you can tell she is looking at them a little stunned. here.

Near Lake Ihotry in Southwestern Madagascar, to be more precise!

Edit: Morondava River?

This is a very promising candidate locale.

We are assuming that we know too much compared to GLR. Perhaps this is not happening on Earth or Time is not during our time.
