I'm a user of Megball, too. (Although once recently I used both {in the same sentence} because I didn't want to use "them" or some-such.)

Wouldn't we all like to know, Cueball! At least he noticed these things have been tended... and recently, from the appearance.

And Megan was able to recognize the vines hadn't been tended in a while, but saw that they (the vines) had been cultivated.

So, since Cueball didn't come back from getting water surrounded by the "Campfire People"-?- hopefully we'll meet them soon(ish).
{Maybe they'll be friends of Beer and Bob.}

-?- I've also seen "Pretty Neat River People" Oh dear, another thing to standardize.ni ni ni ni ni chupacabra ping pong ball.

Perhaps the caretakers are the various molpylife they've been passing by. It's a molpy version of Animal Farm. The squirrelemur was harvesting the applefruit before Megan could take it away and the molpython was possibly trying to (futilely) prevent Megan from taking the grapes.

That's not how I remember it. I tried to search the thread, but for some reason it doesn't remember either: it finds only a few hits on "Meball" and "Cuegan", none of them old enough. Oh well, doesn't matter.

Edit: of course, after I posted, search started working. And looks like I remembered it entirely the wrong way 'round...
Edit2: ah, I see... If you search again, you search within the original results, not in the whole thread.

Also, have some cake, all y'all, from newpixbot and myself.

I must not be on Earth then, as there's not even a slim chance of rain where I am. My best guess, based on the temperature forecast, is that I somehow moved to the sun facing side of mercury.

Someone did, I think; and I remember seeing time flies pop up a few more times.
I like it too, a very appropriate name.
So, from now on they will be species Time Fly, genus Flying Molpy, of the order of Molpy. (Other species in this genus include the Beesnake.)
No idea if I'm doing this right, I was never any good at biology.

Any objections?

None! Time Flies and Beesnakes are not one and the same species. Time flies are benign and like flitting and looping in happy patterns. Beesnakes are much more pestilent, pesky, and prone to attack one's snatch, as was mentioned in the on-going Jabberwoky parody.

Charlie_Grumbles is just a name I made up that seemed to express a certain curmudgeonly character. I've since learned that there are real, actual, humans with that name. They are, of course, not guilty of the stuff I write.

Anyone else?

"StratPlayer" is an ID I've used for years, on multiple sites (unless it's taken first, and then I modify it to include my initials). I've played guitar for almost 40 years, from recreationally to pseudo-professionally (mainly low-paying bar band and wedding gigs in the 80's), and have owned Strats since my first "real" guitar bought in 1977. I also love old strategy PC gaming (always turn-based, from games like MOO-II, the CIv series, SMAC, SE-V, and many others) and so it also works as a reference to that, too, which is why I like it...

Sciscitor wrote:Interesting coincidence that you are quoting two of my favorite authors.

That's not a coincidence. You see:

1. Sherlock Holmes lived on Baker Street.

2. White Beret Guy likes bakeries.

3. A white beret is also worn by LaPetite.

4. As I proved on page 589, LaPetite is a hairdresser in Nyköping, Sweden.

5. Nyköping means "new town", which is the origin of the name "Newton".

6. Newton Pulsifer is a character in Good Omens.

7. Good Omens was written by Neil Gaiman and ... wait for it ... Terry Pratchett!

You see? It's all related.

(Hm. This was harder than I thought.)

Very nice! Now you just need to add your citations as links and include a few more erratic tangents (that "New York to Boston via Melbourne" effect that jetpac mentioned). And yes, it's hard, but so worth it!!! Well done! :D

...and so much for volume 2 (don't want it too much in one lump). On to volume 3 -- I'm still nearly 20 pages behind...

It's still a little disappointing though. But not the worst thing in the world. :D :) :D Especially when the song is so totally awesome in the first place, anyway.

Yes! I would so back this!

Ah, the problem on how getting the 19971 Sarah Michelle Gellar ("Petite") in the cast of a 2013 production has to be solved, yet.tt0268695
Then we can talk about funding the movie. :D

1Personally, I may have to accept the possibility of having grown out of Buffy. Maybe we should settle for a cruel intentional 1999.

tt0268695³Of course, this has been solved already. In a way.

I hate to be the dry blanket, but nothing but blue skies and sunshine where I am.

From this information, we can deduce that you're not on the Earth, though you could possibly be on Mars. It doesn't seem to be raining on Megball Cuegan either, so maybe they're with you wherever you may be...

Also - it's been another long weekend, and I'm about 30-40 pages back, so I'll be skimming for quite awhile. It doesn't look like I'm the only one absent on weekends - we really need a designated historian to keep a condensed version of the highlights of the OTT over the weekends...

Well, it's almost always beneficial to follow your lawyer's advice. Your lawyer doesn't have cloven feet, by any chance?

No rain here today, but it's forecast for tomorrow - again... :? Well, I guess it has to rain at some of our places, since otherwise, it would have to rain on the sea1, which seems like a waste.
